      I Feel Fine, Day Tripper, Paperback Writer, Hey Bulldog, Helter Skelter, Come Together, Two Of Us, And Your Bird Can Sing, Taxman, Revolution 1, Here Comes The Sun, If I Needed Someone, In My Life, She Said She Said, Ticket To Ride...
      They may not all be heavy, crunching riffs but they're certainly all distinctive and memorable.

      Jamston Julian Totally agree. Still many of their best work are driven mainly by the vocal melody. Think that this is the biggest difference between the two bands. I love both bands. Everyone knows by now that the Stones have always been more of a straight ahead rock n roll band with blues roots. The Beatles were more of a pop group with some roots in rockabilly. The Beatles creativity was off the charts and I think that makes them the better band. We could go on and on, back and forth comparing the two and neither of us would be wrong. Two different types, both the best of the best

    • @KenTeel
      @KenTeel 2 года назад

      Really? Day Tripper, Tax Man, etc. I will say that the Stones have to rely on rhythm riffs because the melodic content of their songs is minimal (compare Penny Lane, Michelle, or Yesterday to any Stones song. The Beatles were far superior melodically. And, that is directly related to Jim McCartney, Paul's father. Jim had his own horn band and gigged around Liverpool. He exposed Paul to a variety of musical styles, and that planted a seed in Paul's brain, that showed up in his writing. Paul's richness in style and melody, was the Beatles powerful element. None of the Stones had parents that played music in bands, and therefore were more limited in their exposure to music, as children. Paul's superior intellect, combined with an exposure to 20's, 30's, and 40's music, through his dad, set Paul up to be the powerhouse element in the Beatles. The Stones had no such thing. Mick's father was a fitness instructor. Keith's father was a blue collar worker. Neither played in bands, or encouraged musical development in a way that Jim did with Paul. Paul's skill and diverstity affected John Lennon. Lennon only had exposure, from a parent, to music through his mother playing some banjo. So, John was limited in his scope. Paul helped expand that in John. So, the Stones, in no way, shape or form had the richness of melodic content that The Beatles music had. They really, as Paul has said were kind of a roots based band, with blues primarily, and some country, as foundations. They were much more basic than The Beatles, musically. )

      @fernandes5986 2 года назад

      @@KenTeel your analysis is correct, but I stil l consider Stones's riffs catchier.

    • @KenTeel
      @KenTeel 2 года назад

      @@fernandes5986 The Stone riffs were chord based, moreso than the Beatles riffs. So, if you like rhymic "motiffs" (kind of like what funk music does with chord rhythms) then you'd like the Stones chord riffs better than The Beatles single note riffs (or their more melodic based arpeggios, etc.)

      Uh, yea, whatever.
      No, just kidding.
      Actually John Lennon was the best rhythm guitarist in the early to mid sixties. Ringo says that the endless live performances prevented them from maintaining a constant creative cohesiveness. So it is John Lennon who held favor in that.
      I will say this of my own opinion. The
      Lsd took away John's and George's talents. But they were getting the ladies so what was to care about too much. Then the break up, it must have been quite a strain being the greatest band, as well individuals, in the world. I guess ask them, what is it like having people worship you wherever you go.
      The Beatles became reclusive while the Rolling Stones wanted to have Beatles fame so with the Beatles out of the way, they at last had a chance. And simply they were meant to live sleep eat piss and... together because being in a band is quite an awesome thing. Being musicians. Aside from rock n roll, rhythm n blues, clearly, Keith Richards was born with true talent and that kind of talent is perpetually unending, hence their longevity.
      Keith Richard's was able to overtake John Lennon because of continual practice and honing his craft.
      John Lennon would have made a come back but that would most likely have been in production as opposed to being locked into a band. But listen to John Lennon's early work and you'll see the Beatles were jamming the guitars like they're saying, "Nobody can do this" and "Try to beat that". Pretty good I'd say.
      (Phone mishap deleted )
      What you people don't know is that the Rolling Stones went on a Retirement Tour in 1978. The fact was that the Rolling Stones could not incite the type of interest that the Beatles had. In fact, the entire concert venue was waning. It was Led Zeppelin that sparked the interest for live performances. Do not discount that when Jimmy Page says that they were the best band in the world, I'd say that that could only be the truth. Then, The Rolling Stones then began to gain a greater public interest Rejuvenated by this turn of events, the Rolling Stones skyrocketed to the heights with the album Some Girls. This video has at least 3-4 riffs from the songs from the 1980 Some Girls album.
      It's really not fair to compare works at an early date when both men were so young to an older extensively experienced individual. Keith Richard's should blow us out of the water. What are we in this for if he couldn't.
      There's more to John Lennon too, that few articulate; John Lennon is the greatest singer after Elvis Presley. I must add Robert Plant to this list. But John's every song was his own self derived and applied vocals. John Lennon sang his music with the brilliance of Michael Angelo with his paint brush. In a more humorous or cynical way and everything in between.

      Can't You Hear Me Knocking has the dirtiest groove riff ever! I pick that one!

    Stones, no question about it. Would’ve really shown if he’d have used a tele.

    The Stones riffs were mostly chord based, here. Except for Satisfaction, the lines were chord based. The Beatles lines, presented here, were a combination of chord based, and individual notes, depending on the song.

    I love both bands but you can’t compare the stones when it comes to guitar work...
