  • We tried out the Dewalt 20V Pole Saw and trimmed some trees on our property. This thing is pretty sweet and we were both impressed with how well it worked. Hopefully we will get a lot of use out of this new tool!

Thanks for the video. I was on the "fence" trying to determine if I should purchase it or not. After seeing your video with you AND your wife using it well, I'm going to give it a try. P.S. Loved the scenery :) 😀

Those poor trees. The bark is never supposed to peel back when a branch is dragged down after a cut. It's inviting disease and damage and can really hurt the tree. You should be making initial cuts from the bottom up, about 75% through the trunk. Then make your final cut from the top down. This prevents the peeling and damage to the tree.

      Good to know!

Cutting 75% in from the bottom would cause an insane amount of binding and would be overkill for the purpose. But I agree with the sentiment - a quick undercut first helps a great deal with the health of the tree and avoiding disease.

Good job. Sure would like to have seen how you put it together out of the box.

Sorry about that. It is pretty easy to put together and has arrows that show how it lines up.

Great video! Can these dewalt batteries be used interchangeably between the power tools and outdoor tools? So many dewalt models I don’t even know which one is current anymore. Any videos on these for beginners like myself ?

Thanks! Most of their products can use the same battery as the one I’m using.

My neighbor has several trees along the property line. A gardener trimmed all the branches on his side and now the leaves are growing like weeds on my side and I am stuck with raking up tons of leaves and these black berries. Looks like this tool might be the answer. I am just hoping the trimmer is not too heavy.

It’s not too bad, but can get heavy if you’re using the full extension for prolonged periods of time. You might have to take some breaks.

Always do undercut. Set a good example for trees' sake.
