    Thanks for your review of this saw.
    FRIENDLY TIP: If you make a relief cut on the bottom side of the branch (backside of your limbing cut) before you start your cut on the top, you wont get hangers, splits, or bark stripping off the tree (open wounds). It doesn't have to be too deep, but it will make things much easier for you.

      was just going to say the same thing. cut up from the bottom half a foot from where you want the final cut, cut down from the top (prevents tearing the fibers into the tree). then follow up with a cut straight from the top where you want the final cut.

    I haven't watched the entire video yet but I have used a Stihl gas pole saw in tree work for a long time. The trick is, on anything other larger than 2", is to do a slight undercut first. That way the limb pops right off and never pinches the saw. This also makes a clean cut and let you get out of the way faster too.

      Thanks for the advice. I been chopping trees in my backyard and I'm new at it so I appreciate tips. Especially because alot of the branches are near power lines.

    Thanks for sharing, mate! ~~~IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
    According to Dewalt Service Tech, "the pole saw (even brand new) MUST be stored horizontally with cap upright (cardboard piece under chain mechanism for extra protection) to prevent chain oil leakage. Otherwise, drain the chain oil if you're not willing to store in this recommended manner." I lost the entire oil reservoir twice upon 1st two usages because I stored it vertically in the box. Dewalt, IMO, should put this oil warning info in BOLD LETTERING under oil section of owner's manual. I had to call a Dewalt Service Center to get the skinny on this nugget of truth.

    Dang bud you said you was trimming them up to mow under you didn't say you was trimming them up to mow with your tractor's under them lol. The end with your son filming and got your dad on video was hilarious when your dad found out the camera was on guess that's one way of getting him on video lol

    It's definitely a beast!
    Great pole saw, wish the adjuster wrench worked when you mess up the chain and slip a cog. Had to use a screwdriver, my only complaint. 😊

    I just did about 20 limbs of 1" to 3" and it didn't even knock a bar off the battery level.

    First use. I ended up breaking my screw bolt tightening the chains. Returned it immediately. It was a great saw and did everything I wanted up to that point. Returned for a replacement. Which is nice as it did all the work it needed to do but broke during maintenance. So now I have a new one and will see how long this holds up.

    Can you attach two of the 3 feet extensions?

    • @galfert
      @galfert 3 года назад +2

      No you can't. They have purposely keyed the extension so that you can't double up extensions. 4 slots on one side and 2 slots on the other side of the extension.

    And cutting way too close to the trunk. Those cuts likely won't heal right.

    Where you are bobbing the branches you will have a worse problem than what you have now. Should take the branches back to the trunk.

    Would you recommend that Dewalt over a gas powered polesaw? I'm needing to buy one and I can't decide

    • @BagwellFarms
      @BagwellFarms  4 года назад +2

      If your like me an don't use one but maybe once every month or month an a half id definitely go electric obviously if your going to be using it daily or weekly id go gas just because the gas ones probably got more power an are more durable

      I got one as well and I love it. I cut a 30 foot long by 5 foot tall pile of branches and logs with two 2.0amp drill batteries. This things a monster. Highly recommended. Even cut a 6" thick heavy branch hanging over my driveway. Its amazing
