Proverbs 22:6 🙏🏻 🇺🇸
🐦 🐓 🦆 🦃 🐇 🐖 🐂 🐕
Anyone who thinks "if it isn't gas its crap" has clearly never sat behind the wheel of a modern electric car and had that electric motor torque pin you back in your seat on take off. Electric Motors produce much more torque, and convert energy into motion more efficiently than a combustion engine; granted, there's quite a voltage difference (my car runs at 323V) so it's also not apples to apples. As for plastic, its hard to make general statements. Yes, there is plastic that is cheap and will break, there is also plastic used in aerospace that is sturdier and more resilient than some metals. So it more depends on whether DeWalt went cheap on their plastic or if they used some high grade polymers.
Agreed on all fronts buddy. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😎👊🏻
Most ppl have never driven an electric car and elwctrics great for light weight stuff so it should run tools fine but thwy cant haul big stuff like a kenworth truck so they both have their uses but as far as heavy duty goes diesel combustion engines arw more superior than electric and as far as lifht weight goes give it up to batterys
@@wolfmantrucker1541 this is simply not true. In fact it’s the complete opposite. The point where electric motors really show how much better they are than ICE is specifically with large loads because they produce so much more low end torque than an ICE engine can. The Tesla semi outperforms a diesel semi at every single spec and costs less to drive per mile (and significantly less maintenance, due to fewer moving parts; I.e. no transmission.) Electric motors are more efficient than ICE just from the basic thermodynamics of the two; ICE gives off an incredible amount of waste heat, has a low rate of conversion from stored energy to momentum, and then can’t use that momentum to “refill” its gas tank as it brakes. And it requires a massive transmission because it’s engine has a very narrow range of effective RPMs…
A few of the specs:
Tesla Semi can to 0-65 in 5 seconds dry, and 0-65 in 20 seconds with an 80,000 pounds. A diesel would take a minimum of 2 minutes, some up to 5, for a 0-60.
Tesla semi can take a 5% grade at 65mph, where as a diesel it would be lucky to keep 45mph.
If you wanted to say electric semis aren’t ideal because of charging or hot swapping batteries or whatever other issue with the fuel source, I have no argument, you’re correct. But claiming their motors aren’t as good for hauling is patently incorrect
Look i drive trucks and im always looking for info on the new electric trucks and ive found alot of heresay from ppl selling the trucks and no evidence of what they can actualy do and if they can do what you say why dont they show them off cause the trucking industry would love these itd save alot of money but for whatever reason theirs no much more than a few vids of electric truck sitting in traffic with a load who knows how long that battery lasts hauling a heavy load on a nice day or hauling 80 thousand pounds up the mountain vecause theirs no proof of it but if you find proof hit me up id like to save the gas money but until their physical proof ill stick to using batterys on my tools unless i want a car that srives itself but thats kinda lame anyway imo
Earlier on my way home to unbox this polesaw, I drove past 20 polesmokers sitting in their Teslas waiting for who knows how long for their vehicles to charge in the Whole Foods parking lot 😂
Electric is okay for pole saws..
Gas is still King for vehicles however.
Tip from a tree guy that has used pole saws a lot. On any limb larger that say 2", do a small undercut first, about 1/4 or less through but not enough to pinch. That way when you finish with the top cut, the limb will pop off clean instead of peeling and trying to pinch the saw.
Good tip bud thank you. I’ve got an update video coming out soon & I’ll do that for sure. I LOVE this thing. Stay tuned 😎.
I’ve used Stihl pole saws while I’m at 90’ in a nasty arbutus reaching over to another arbutus, I couldn’t afford to get pinched so small undercuts every time 😁
Standard chainsaw theory for anything sideways. Always make small cut on the compression side first.
Thanks been running chain saws a lot far decades but have a he'll of a time whith pole saw
Just bought mine today. I too am a De Walt guy. My neighbor laughed when I brought my grease gun home. Borrowed it within a week, now he's got one
I picked this up today to take down a 20' mulberry tree 13" at the base. It eat up everything that i tossed at it. Fantastic device. I also have the 20v 12" Chainsaw. Together it was gone in a few hours. Modern battery tools are awesome. Very impressed!!!
Agreed on all counts! Still love mine!
I just bought this and boy does it work well. My only complaint is I wish it was longer and didnt leak oil when it was sitting (but every chainsaw does that.) The weight in the head of the saw with the motor by the saw is great..... makes it easy. I just plop it atop a limb and hit the power button and it does the job by itself.
Thanks for sharing, mate! ~~~IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
According to Dewalt Service Tech, "the pole saw (even brand new) MUST be stored horizontally with cap upright (cardboard piece under chain mechanism for extra protection) to prevent chain oil leakage. Otherwise, drain the chain oil if you're not willing to store in this recommended manner." I lost the entire oil reservoir twice upon 1st two usages because I stored it vertically in the box. Dewalt, IMO, should put this oil warning info in BOLD LETTERING under oil section of owner's manual. I had to call a Dewalt Service Center to get the skinny on this nugget of truth.
I agree. I have big gas saws, but electric has its place too. Especially for a pole saw. I have this tool and like it. I have the pole hedge trimmer too.
On bigger branches try to make a little under cut so when you are finishing your top cut the branch with drop flat down. Thanks on the nice review. I subscribed!
Suggestion, when your cutting larger branches put a small cut at the bottom of the branch then cut from the top. The branch will snap off without pulling the bark down the stock. And the branch is less likely to hang up.👍
First time coming across your video and I'm sold. I was just looking at other reviews, but the ease of how this tool got the job done, I can't wait to add this to my collection. I'm 6'3 so it was cool to be able to relate to the height you were getting up to those branches without a ladder. Thank you.
It’s a game changer. Super light. Still gets job done.
Thank you 😊
@mel2865 How did it work out for you? Is it still working well today? Thanks
Looks like Great tool! Give a small undercut about 1/3 way up then come from the top. It will make the limb fall straight down. Less chance of ripping part of the tree to stay. And limb less likely to chase the head of the tool
Refreshing, informative, well thought out & personalized with authentic style. I'm on board with this Dewalt product & will purchase. I did subscribe. Love the respect you show towards your dad & family. Well done!
I got me a Pole Saw with a 30 foot Pole (comes in 4 sections). Brand name of Alta. Helluva thing. A little dangerous, but where I live it's needed.
Thank you for this video popping up cuz I got one of these for the guy that does my yard work for Christmas 🎄 it’s laying here in the box ‼️ Now I know for sure that he’s gonna love it 😊 I couldn’t keep my 2 acre place up with out him😉every good woman needs a good man sometimes.Good goes both ways ya know 😎😜
He’ll LOVE this saw! Haven’t changed my mind a bit since posting this video!
New video later today 😉
@@DossFarm I’m here 🤪‼️
Boom 👊🏻 Who doesn’t love DeWalt?!?
#blackandyellow
I've been looking at buying 1 of these and watching videos about it. 1 thing to note is that the length is not actually 15'. That 15' is considering the height of the person as well. I believe it's only 10' long.
Thanks for the review. Think I'm going to grab one. Pulling at a 20" bar saw to trim up some limbs is a pain. Small amount to pay to save the hassle of pulling out the saw and the ladder if this will get the job done faster than the manual pole saw I've got now. That thing works, but anything more than trimming back some crepe myrtles turns into a pretty good workout. Doesn't hurt that I've already got a rack of dewalt 20V stuff too.
Man if you’ve already got the batteries this is a no brainer. I’m a DeWalt fanboy but my bias aside this is one that’s actually worth it. Appreciate ya!
Thanks for the video , just bought one. Also a big dewalt fan especially the 20v line.
Agreed. Thank ya 👍🏻. You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you, I feel as if I could use this without any difficulty.
That would be nice for trimming around tree stands.
My thoughts exactly.
I just bought one of these - worked great - the silver molding on the saw head is definitely metal.
That is a handy tool. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I’ll trade you for a tractor...straight up. No questions asked. 😃 Thank y’all for stopping by and checking us out. We’re big fans. I’ll own a Ventrac some day!
@@DossFarm That's great to hear. We know you'll love it!
I like those chickens, they look cool🐔🐓
Found your channel looking for reviews of this saw, thinking of getting one myself! Thanks for sharing!
RonBootsFarm 😎 I’ve used it more times than I can count now. Handy little tool for sure! Murdoch’s has this on sale for $100 tool only last month. Great buy if you’ve already got batteries. 👍🏻
(3 years after you put this out) Just bought the Flexvolt version of this and they added a little bottle of bar oil. Maybe thanks to you. LOL
Powerful saw, does the job that you tried with it. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
By the way, great video. I like your easy going style of presentation
Appreciate that a lot! I like doing tool reviews for that reason. A lot of guys go waaaay to quick and I feel like I’m being “sold to” when really I just want to see them use it and decide for myself. Thank ya!
Great video. You take the big branches not the tiny twigs like the others. Love the chickens!
That’s how I roll. 😎. Update video coming soon! I’ve got 8 acres to clear branches off before the weather turns cold.
Most of my tools are dewalt and the funny thing is, yellow is one of my least favorite colors. I guess its because I know they are decent quality and I associate yellow with construction and work.
Just picked one up...I give it a thumbs up too!
Agreed!
I liked ur video with those remarks nice ones
Thank ya
Looks like a nice saw! Thanks for sharing this video!
Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for tuning in! 👍🏻
Looks like it works awesome! I have a cheap black and decker one I use but doesn’t compare to that!
Whatever works to get the job done! This was actually on sale for $100 from Murdoch’s last week. So they’ve come down if you only need the tool!
I want a Dewalt pole saw. Going to the hardware store tomorrow.
You’ll love it! I’m going to do a 6 month review here soon!
Thanks
No worries 😉. I’ve got a follow up video coming out later this week. I love this thing. Definitely worth the investment.
Thanks!
👊🏻😎
Do a cut on the bottom of the branch about a quarter of the way then cut down from the top and it will fall straight down with no splitting and make a nice clean cut.
Great vid . That chain oil need to come with it . Come on dewalt!
E Firoozy Agreed!
.if you want chain oil, you have to buy the kit version not the bare tool version
Lol when u started talk in about the flighty chickens the sadistic side of me hoped u were gonna say u were gonna use the pole saw 2 clip their wing feathers ;-)
😂 That’d bring in the views & dislikes 👎🏻 for sure!
Nice! I have the worst luck with gas powered stuff! I've heard great reviews on the electric powered tools from friends.
Thankfully my dad keeps EVERYTHING I own for lawn care & needs fuel in top shape 👍🏻.
The full silver housing part is not plastic it's casted aluminum, the poles are extruded aluminum. This housing part also acts as part of the internal gearcase.
Great job Chad!
Nice new toy💖👍👀
The 60v pole chainsaw universal attachment is available now. It would be great to see a comparison if you can get one.
No need man.
Are you saying Dewalt makes a 60v pole saw? I didn't see it on their website -
@@davparksohI believe he is referring to the 20v/60v Flexvolt series of batteries that Dewalt has out
My favorite part of this video was the beard oil is gasoline. & your no bull outlook. Man kind of friend.
Glad you hit some big mean ones.
If we are spending some of our hard earned dollar we want it to work.
Thanks for your help and subbed early into the video. Looking forward to the other videos.
Thanks again sir.
Agreed 🍻.
Got an update coming really soon. Saw is still going strong. Very pleased. 😎
Good shit
Look forward to it
Waiting for weather to cool off to make video but it’s happening. Within couple weeks for sure 👍🏻.
Bar oil,...any oil included in packaging is courting an environmental problem that nobody wants,.. especially post offices and couriers, I would imagine!
So, what's the issue,.. most gardeners and folks who would be into this kind of work would probably have a gas powered chain saw, wouldn't they,..so what's the
odds that they'd have bar oil around too? LOL!
July 11/22 Update: I bought one of these pole saws, and yes, it's a great tool. I am more than impressed with it's performance and especially the reach.
Would I buy another? In a heart beat, in fact my buddy, whom I trusted enough to loan him mine, is on his way this week to buy a DeWalt pole saw.
I’ve got plenty of bar oil. I also have received plenty of equipment I’ve purchased through the mail with sealed complimentary oil & fuel containers in them. Not to mention I purchased this at a big box store where they would be able to handle merchandise with oil/fuel in the packaging. 👍🏻
@@DossFarm There you go then!
Just wish it came with a shoulder strap like the Ryobi but I do like the metal gear case I'll have to pick one up!
You won’t need a shoulder strap. It’s super light! Ryobi wishes it was DeWalt 😎. It’ll also take a 10 inch blade for bigger limbs! I love it!
@@DossFarm that was my opinion as well I also prefer the aluminum pole to the Ryobi fiberglass. I hope it's as good as it looks in your video I'm not a huge Ryobi fan I just got the pole saw for a steal when I needed it!
No worries man! The aluminum is the key for me. There’s almost no flex. I also already had a battery so like I said in video I don’t think I paid too much more than $100. Couldn’t pass it up. The tool that does the job you need is the right tool though no matter what color it is 😃.
@@DossFarm same here I've got a bunch of 60v batteries that's why I wanted it the Ryobi only last about 10 minutes with the shit battery that was included! I just got mine for about 118 right now online home depot is offering 50$ off when you buy 2 DeWalt outdoor tools or 100$ off if you buy 3. I also got the hedge trimmers for 100 even couldn't pass it up since last summer the hedge trimmer was 149.
@@DossFarm thanks for the video though it helped me decide to purchase! Gonna use it for clearing my hunt club I've already got mounts on my Polaris sportsman so I can haul it with me should be perfect for what I need it for.
Love mine! DeWalt fan boy here as well...
Agreed! I’m a black & yellow loyalist! I’ll do more DeWalt reviews really soon!
DeWalt is the best!
I don’t know why other tools even try!
Thanks for the video,,at 70+ my bod gets wore out quick with my power pole saws, echo, this looks like a good alt. Like another reviewer said,,it would be nice to hook the saw direct to the battery without any pole! Maybe in gen 2?
Maybe!
You’re welcome! Thank you 😊
Super idea..
Thanks from TURKİYYA..
Thank ya 😃
Including a small starter of bar-chain oil would also have clued us in to what DeWalt actually recommends.
The manual is not very helpful on this point other than suggesting that a non-detergent, SAE 30W can adequately substitute for the recommended oil. It never says anywhere, however, what that recommendation would be. It also cautions to use a vegetable oil when Pruning trees.
I’m spending a lot of time on this oil issue because there are numerous reviews and comments about oil leaks. The manual says to empty the oil container at the end of the day which solves the problem with storage. But that won’t address the complaint about leaks that seem to occur during its use. That could be due to using oil that’s too thin, so hopefully that problem can be resolved by using bar-chain oils that have the quality of “tackiness” in listed among their attributes. DGP Pro 100 oil seems to tick all the right boxes.
landscapers show up every weekend and create a whole lot of noise with gas powered, wish they all switch to battery power ..... clean and efficient.
Couldn’t agree more.
The process to make the batteries is worse.....feed the machine

Proverbs 22:6 yes I agree wholeheartedly.
Always. 🙏🏻
Lol just bought one for home and tree stands and yes thank you DeWalt for NO oil. 😂. And they recommend emptying the oil reservoir after EVERY use, the hell is up with that? Anyone please explain why? Heading to runnings now to get oil and will ask.
That’s awesome! Enjoy!
Yeah that’s silly about not coming with oil. As for draining the reservoir mines always empty when I’m done. They recommend it bc it leaks out like the rest of your chain saws do. I’ve never owned on that doesn’t. Silly though for sure. 👍🏻
Great Video I am hitting the LIKE button and buying the saw I got lots of trees I like the undercut first comment Useul
Hi! I just got the pole saw and it is spraying chainsaw oil and chainsaw is super wet. I called dewalt and they told me to only fill the oil tank up to 1/4, but it didn’t help. Has this problem ever happened to you?
Now that you have used it for a while, any issues with it? I've read alot of reviews stating how it stops working between 6 months to a year. I'm interested in getting one to use on the farm. Like you, I'm only needing to get the actual tool. I have plenty of 20 volt batteries and chargers. Thanks in advanced for any information.
Have the same pole saw and found when cutting it leaves a splintering finish on the finish cut and not neat like it should do. It is new out the box and only used a few times but did it from new. Is this normal?
Great idea, but the pole is flimsy and too much flexing. They can make the pole design a lot better. On the Up side - Looks like more pole segments could be added - that might reach Very High up. I have an Echo Pole Prunner, is very highly capable and taller. but heavier, and noisier.
Can’t think of a reason I would need to go higher than 15feet. It’s not flimsy at all. I’m guessing you don’t own one you’re just assuming. A pruner that is heavier than a pole saw sounds awful.
My $.02
Good saw👍👍🏻
To cut down the tree?
Garden Creator Life To cut down anything you can’t reach with a ladder!
Juat my 15ft desalt chain saw, after 10 cuts it stopped working. Batter is charged it just clicks. Help
looks like a hockey stick. Seems like you cant do an easy "under cut" with that...especially when pruning.
Then I guess every pole saw is a hockey stick...
Yeah I rather cut out the oil to save money but what’s next ?
I agree what’s next Dewalt we pay a premium price.
Can you use this for cutting little twigs? I don’t know whether to buy a pole saw or pole hedge trimmer. I have twigs too thick for a hedge trimmer but only just. They are still pretty thin and bendy. Any advice greatly received. Thanks.
What's your opinion of the saw set at an angle as opposed to a straight saw? I've never used a chain saw before and I'm thinking of buying/ need a pole saw. Like you, I like Dewalt and have extra batteries which would save some money but I'm just wondering about the angle blade.
Having the blade at an angle creates downward pressure which allows the blade to do the work. Which is a good thing obviously. Having batteries already is awesome. That’s how I save money as well. I updated the links in the description. Amazon is always higher unfortunately. ACME Tool has the tool only but looks like you’ll have to wait until June. Guess you’ll have to get the one with batteries because you can never have enough of those right?!?! 😂
But how great is that Garmin Fenix 6 watch?! Love mine
Daniel Kohler Tough as nails! Love it more if it had LTE tho 🤷🏻♂️.
Saw cuts good. Pole bends easily.
Hey nice video.just got one but noticed all the fluid is leaking from chainsaw housing wanted to know if your's does that?
The bar oil is designed to leak out slowly and oil the bar. I only add just enough to run the saw. The instructions actually say to drain it after every use. 👍🏻
@@DossFarm yeah read that part but the tool was kinda excessively leaking while in use.thanks for reply though appreciate it

Not a CLUE bud. I just bought a new chain. Here’s the link though to DeWalt and I’m sure you can find a list based on chain dimensions. 👍🏻

Can I interchange the chainsaw and insert a Hedge Trimmer. Sort like the Oregon Pole ?

@@DossFarm today is july 13th, 2020, almost 7 am, after watching your video yesterday, my wife and i went to our local home depot here in west central florida and got the dewalt 20v pole saw, like you i have tons of batteries. we liked your video
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! Also if you look closely it says on the box I believe that it’ll accept a 10” bar if you need it. 👍🏻
@@DossFarm ok, i burned this box first thing this morning before using it, :), but i did think about a longer bar maybe, thank-you, i am getting the 20v chainsaw in a few weeks, God willing :), to take with us on our atv
Is that engine oil you pour into the pole saw?
Not exactly...
How heavy is this?
Question, is the handle floppy where the pole joins together?
No. Very stable. There’s another brand that I won’t call out directly but their handle is made of fiberglass and it’s very unsteady. DeWalt has an aluminum pole which keeps the weight down but still maintaining strength. It’s even able to accept a 10 inch blade.

Some people are probably buying these and running them without oil. Not good
how long does the battery last, or how many cuts can you do with this saw
That varies on the size of battery and the size & type of tree & the size of the branch
the saw is 10 ft long not 15 ft...you can take down branches 15 ft up with your reach.
That’s what I meant 👊🏻
Overall length is not 15 ft
If you cut on the bottom of the branch just for a second, then cut from the top, it won’t hang up on u!!
Yeah I figured that out! 😂. I just wanted to show it off but I didn’t know how to use it really. I still love it though and use it around the farm often!
Will this saw run on the 20v 1.5Ah batteries?
Yep
The saw is 10’ with a reach of 15’. So your not reaching 20’.
I’m 6’4 with a 6’6” wingspan...
