Well it's got them traction tires. Plus the damn thing is a tank. And it's got better shocks for offroading. Just can't see your reflection in the paint is all.

Even though it is the slowest of the three, ngl, I kinda dig the Cthulhu. For two reasons: First off, it looks really sick. Second; the name of course, HP Lovecraft horror and stuff is also cool :)

So I appreciate these comparisons, but I think an off-road "drag" race would be good as well to help showcase the nomad-ness of their shocks and handling and everything. I feel like this is like racing dirt bikes on pavement.

Javelina will run away immediately, the Cthulu will be second
Avenger will struggle for grip in off-road

@Abhishek Rajeshwar the Avenger struggles with grip on the road, let alone off-road. But it maybe the best looking vehicle in game. The Javelina handles like a boss. Easily the second or third best vehicle in game.

That sucks as the avenger is one of the best cars in the game. Its my daily drive ingame, the javelina was my first daily drive but i keep it for desert driving.

what is the point of the Cthulhu? It seems to be kinda bad. The Javelina is good at absolutely everything off or on road, the Avenger is technically faster and can drift, but what does Cthulhu do?

The Cthulu is the middle ground between the Avenger and the Javelina
Cthulu is quite good off road and is easier to handle than the Avenger, less prone to spin out. Is a bit slower overall
Avenger is a great drifter and has good acceleration, but tends to spin out easily and is horrible off-road
Javelina is exceptional at handling (particularly off-road, it just does not budge) and has really good acceleration

In-universe, the Cthulhu is a custom cross-country racing machine, that requires good handling both on- and off-road, so it should be in-between the other variants. The ridiculous part here is that the Javelina has better pavement performance than the other variants with softer suspention and dirt tyres, that usually (irl) require both more aggressive tread patterns for moving loose sand and gravel, and a harder rubber compound for durability, which both severely compromise tarmac performance (the Cthulhu looks to have the same tyres but not the suspension), and considering how most of the car is custom, I would have expected the nomads to have fitted it with custom gearing to trade some acceleration for low speed torque and control... Which didn't happen, instead the Javelina is somehow converted 4wd, whereas the others are rwd. Irl, 4wd eats some engine power (top speed) through the heavier drive, but gains less slip chance when accelerating by applying the remaining engine power to the ground through double the contact area. The Javelina is the heaviest variant, balanced out by also being the most powerful. So yes, realistically, the Avenger should have the best acceleration and top speed, (but not by much), and should slay the others in pavement handling, whereas the Javelina should be relatively hard to get to skid, despite the hard tyres, but otherwise less maneuverable on tarmac, while retaining it's superior off-road ability, with the Cthulhu planted firmly in between them. That being said, I love the current form of the Javelina for being a little unrealistic and overall the most fun car in the game. (Yes, the Coyote is cheaper and better in every way on paper, but it doesn't look as cool, and sounds like a godd*nm mosquito.)

Imagine the Cthulu can outpace the javelina in the race but its shit when you get it. I used the javelina in the race and drove like a road demon and still couldnt catch up to it. Its because of the car's weight. The cthulu is lighter and has a faster acceleration. The avenger just says screw you both imma da REAL batmobile.
