    I agree with most of your ratings. I would give Isle of Sipta a solid 4 though. As while the map itself may be a little lacking, it provides a massive amount of content, and with that, more to explore for players who have spent many hours in the exiled lands. Since it's release has improved greatly. The focus on dungeon exploration and collecting little powerups to boost your abilities is an interesting gameplay mechanic only really hampered by Conan Exiles' fairly basic enemy AI. I do agree a lot of areas feel a little too barren, but that provides a lot of space for players to build and develop. It's quite well suited for Roleplay Servers I think. It's not perfect, but the sheer amount of content it adds is worth the price of entry. The game goes on sale often enough now though that I do agree, catch the stuff on sale, save some money. But don't stick your nose up at the isle of sipta map. It's a nice change of pace to the tired scenery of the exiled lands.

      Totally agree. Even for single players the Isle of Siptah map is very interesting, as resources are much easier available and building and exploring therefore is faster in reach. I like the elder vaults andthe shrines, too. It brings new mechanics and a fresh approach to progress at all.

    There is a funny part when you mentioned Aquilonian DLC to capture Greek style. In Howard's world, Aquilonia was actually supposed to be an equivalent of late Roman empire (probably in the era when christianity became not only tolarated, but also the only allowed religion, therefore the zealous worship of Mitra), while Argoss was more akin to Greek city states (the in-game style probably represents island-based city states, therefore that marine theme). Personally, I loved almosts all DLC (I even give a bigger chance to otherwise cursed Isle of Siptah), but I prefered most the ones with placebles. For me, buildings pieces from Aquilonia, Argoss and Turan are my top one (it can make what I call "Byzantine" or "Sicilian" style - a crossroad between west and east) and than of course Derketo DLC has a plenty of placeblaes (not to mention my favourite inn-keeper outfit, that I love to make, even if it means sacrificing some light armor)

    • @Eradicati0nn
      @Eradicati0nn  3 года назад +7

      Yeah I can see the Roman influence in Aquilonian, especially if you mix the Argossean roofs in, that really hits the Roman Villa style. Aside from Riddle of Steel I wouldn't really say I dislike any of the DLC's, even the ones I rated average. Some of them aren't every day usage, but they're nice to have, even if they're super extravagant

    • @mausolus8466
      @mausolus8466 3 года назад +2

      @@Eradicati0nn Agreed, even though I had some fun and usage for Riddle of Steel DLC. You see, up until Achitects of Argoss came out, the only way to have some artistic form of water well, you had to had knowledge (and some aspiring steps) in rituals of Mitra. Mitra and Set are two gods (asside from Crom, of course) that I have never chosen so far from lore and RP perspective (I even nicnamed them "Despot of Light" and "Despot of Darkness"), and "neutral" decorative water source in form of Pool of Refreshment was quite welcomed. And of course, those Snake Statues (especially the variant with skulls) and Atlantean Throne are my favourite as well.
      I also had to say I have one issue with the new Stormglass building pieces. While combination of black and yellow/gold colors is my favourite (if I will have coat of arms in future, it would certainly use those two colors), and combining Stormglass with Turanian roof-pieces would make an excelent job, the fact that the only option for windows is a fully enclosed glass wall is a bit uncomfortable for me. Personaly, I love to build in more exotic (from the perspective of guy living in Central Europe) locations, and on Isle of Siptah, Isle of Dawn and Floodlands will probably become my favourite places for settling. However, I have a feeling that with no form of ventilation in home made out of black building material (black color absorbs heat quite a lot), it could turn into oven in such biomes. Honestly, I'm considering implementing some of the Lattice Walls from Riders of Hyborie to act as windows instead, those should let an air in xD

    Floatsome got some uses for PVP. Early and later. Also if you are in a place where is more wood than stone and want to go for higher tier and smelt bricks, the floatsome uses more wood less stone, so its a decent option for a spedific situation. Also i like use the railing because you see easy behind it but it stops you fall from edges. Its basicly rope on two sticks :D

  • @maninredhelm
    @maninredhelm Год назад

    I'm surprised to disagree with this video so sharply. I think the Arena set, beyond missing so many critical pieces, should also lose points for having the most difficult to place staircases and the worst fitment of piece-to-piece within the same set. And I have a general complaint about all sets with vaulted ceilings: There are no wedge shaped pieces, making them useless for anything but boxes and straight lines. Derketo clearly offers the least value other than Riddle of Steel. It gives us treehouse platforms that are all angles and stage pieces that are all boxes, so they actively work against each other. Riders of Hyboria is arguably the best complementary set, with things no other set offers such as horse-height single tile doors, gates that aren't skyscraper height, and climbable fences. It also provides one of the best cheats with the lattice half-wall, which can be directly replaced with a full-size wall to get around collision detection problems preventing placement of a full-size wall. The white sets mix poorly with anything else, and the style looks out of place in most biomes. At least they are content-rich, and have each other to mix with. Turan I agree can be a bit much in large quantities, but I'm finding ways to dilute it with Stormglass. With Khitan I actually like the reversibility because the wood grains are subtly different, but that's something you only appreciate if it's your main base and you see it up close daily. And I make the most use of its placeables. Yamatai can be pretty but is content poor, doesn't mix well and offers nothing unique. Frontier is mostly ugly but I use its ceiling tiles the most, they mix well with anything and I like the underside design. And Siptah there's just no denying that it's by far the most content for the money, it's not even comparable.

  • @JgHaverty
    @JgHaverty 2 года назад

    Fun fact. Khitan ceiling and walls goes with LITERALLY EVERYTHING lol. While i can understand the desire for a more "unique" and perhaps aesthetically standout addition, that "simplicity" does lend itself to being usable with a LOT more builds. All that said, as i build more and more, its becoming more and more evident that these dlc pieces were designed to be artifiically stacked to not give "everything" as it lends itself to buying multiple dlcs (i.e. khitan walls + arena foundations + stable lattice pieces is pretty fantastic lol).... that said i have always purchased these on sale, and im frankly glad to spend 5$ for a bunch of new buildables.

    • @Eradicati0nn
      @Eradicati0nn  3 года назад +2

      Riddle of Steel is a bit sour for me given the price and the fact it wasn't included in the Y2 season pass, which itself was £40. However, some of the none-statue placeables are fairly nice. Siptah's rating is mainly for the super slow progress, but I'm glad you agree with the rest & enjoyed the video!

    The Riders of Hyboria Potain Knight set just doesnt fit well into any Biome theme. Allthough its cool set, it would have needed its own map/ biome

    How presumptuous of you to assume that I'll be buying the DLC! I pirated the game with all the DLC and just wanted to see which armours I'll be using and what kind of character I'll RP as... It's all got to fit. Hmm, I do quite like the Aquilonian heavy armour. But they don't really work for my degenerate playthroughs, unlike Stygians. Though I'm no lore nerd. PS. I own the game on Steam but it's a stuttery POS and the update is trash, especially the cash shop. My pirated copy is miles better. No Chinese spyware either. Thanks for the assistance!
