Great guide. The only two things I could add are as follows: 1) Giving your thrall a truncheon is super effective. You can go into a small to midsize camp, and once the fight starts, the thrall (especially a decent fighter) will just go and knock everyone out. You can then just sort through and find whoever you need. 2) The Lovetap is a legendary weapon that does concussion damage. Probably not any better than a standard steel truncheon with the light attack, but it has the mace attack sequence for the heavy attack, that can be good to stunlock an opponent. Also, it has tons of durability. The standard steel truncheon with the advanced blunted weapon fitting, though, is still my go-to, as it's effective and cheap to make/repair.
Sadly the lovetap is on par for concussive damage with the iron truncheon. (Even a bit lower if i remember right) However it has a unique move set compared to the other tools, and as you put very well in your paragraph it's great for that stunlock! :) However I do feel it needs a much needed tlc due to it being legendary but there are much better methods to the madness out there on the market. and yes yes yes 100% agree on the thrall thing, this does wonders letting your thrall have a smash and bash session with the truncheon against the enemy.
@@KiahOnFireOfficial It's true that, especially light attack vs. light attack, the Lovetap is a bit lackluster. I think it should be at least on par with Szeth's Truncheon. One thing I've noticed about most legendaries is that they aren't really much better than endgame craftables. Other than the Predatory Blade and a few others, most of them aren't much of an advantage over starmetal or dragonbone stuff.
@@KiahOnFireOfficial A tactic where there are a lot of tough enemies (like some of the denser areas of Sepumeru) is to hop up on a building ledge, shoot a few blunted arrows, and let your thrall just have a field day.
Legendary weapons stand out from the crafted weapons by giving bonus stats or unique abilities @@thorwulfx1 . Lovetap for example, can be used while mounted unlike truncheons.
Thralls use whatever you give them, including truncheons. Worth noting that if you use thrall to do the whacking, remove all other weapons from them it may be an old bug, but mine were switching weapons back and forth when they had more than 1 weapon (or throwing orb, including water) in the inventory. Regarding Task masters: Their effect on the wheel of friendship is instantaneous, you can use this to take an L3 taskmaster on a tour, take it from one wheel to the other. When I have a named taskmaster I usually take him with me when I collect the new friends. Just drop him to the wheel, he does his magic and completes any "close to complete" thralls.
13:22 One of my favorite farming spots for taskmasters is, The Sandpit (lower left-hand corner of J7). It is a simple matter of running up (from the south) to the taskmaster spawn (southern tent) and aggro-ing him/her. If the taskmaster is not named or one that you want, simply run back down the path a short distance. They will despawn and the camp will respawn. Another tip for using task masters is; taskmasters make up for lost time taming. For instance, Let's assume a thrall has been on a wheel (without a taskmaster) for some time and is ~ 25% tamed. Now, placing a taskmaster on that wheel will accelerate the taming process according to the level of the taskmaster. So, the aforementioned thrall may now be 75% complete or even finish instantly. This behavior is as if the taskmaster was on the wheel the entire time. For the above reason, I prefer to train a T2 or T3 taskmaster in one lesser wheel and a T4 taskmaster in another. As soon as the T2/3 thrall is complete I will place them on the wheel with the T4.
Just a heads up everyone should raid the wine cellar as early as possible I believe you can still get a unique/legendary knockout tool from the first mini boss in the area.

Blunted Javelin combined with shield is easy to stun lock enemy (holding defence button and hit enemy once) makes super quick stab and you are still covered under shield :3
Catching them isn't the problem, yes blunt jav is the best but taming named thrall takes forever even with a T3 taskmaster, so playing single player is a pain because of this.
If you're on single player you could turn your rates down the lowest takes literally less than a second and the one above that, 0.5 is half the standard which is what I use it doesn't take too long with a good taskmaster however t4 thralls can still take a couple of hours
These tips are awesome. I'm not much of a gamer, certainly not these types of games. I've been a Conan fan since I was a kid and a fan of Robert E Howard. I'm getting better as a gamer. Thank you.
An easy tier four taskmaster to get at lower levels can be found in the Sinners Refuge cave, he's called Sir Bowen of Asura and shares his spawn with the other named Asura characters and a Mitra priest. It is a decent enough spawn rate to be worth the trouble, the other Asura NPC's are good to tame aswell, they can be a carpenter, an alchemist, a smelter and a Mitra Priest or be farmed for the Asura armour set. Other named thralls also spawn in the cave.
@@MedievalFantasyTV i tend to draw out the other NPC's in the room first untill there's only the three in the back left. If they swarm you run towards the exit of the cave, that way you can often split the group a little. Running back and forth a few times can help. Also it can be done with the Set arrows, poison the thralls you don't want untill the one you do want is the only one left, same thing as i mentioned before run towards the exit if you get mobbed.
Great guide. Apologies if you mentioned this, but just in case (I don't recall) it's important that whatever food you use in the wheel (and I agree wholeheartedly that gruel is best for a number of reasons) make sure you use just one type of food. If you put 1 stack of gruel and 1 stack of grilled steak in there, it will not automatically jump to the other after the first stack is used up. They have to be the same food type for it to keep working without intervening. Thank you Kiah! I LOVE your videos, have watched so many. Even though you mangle sooooooo many names lol :D Hey, that's part of the charm, right?
I didn't mention that so thanks for putting this out there since some may mix foods up! Glad you're enjoying the videos :) ! and Indeed part of the charm
I've been saying this since Early Access. Gruel is the worst food in game, no players should ever craft gruel. First it's a waste of plant fiber for twine, and other craftables. It's burn time is the lowest, I just crafted 3 T4 (27 hours w/ no Taskmaster) using grilled steak and exotic shellfish. I estimate it too 20x50 & 15x50 to craft, but probably more due to decay. Again I estimate, gruel would take 50x50 (adding 10x50 5 times a day). If you have to or just want to use gruel, then I recommend only for a T1 or T2. Anything higher takes too long to use gruel for. FireSpark81 did a recent test on active thrall stats. Vitality is the only stat that has any effect at the moment. So feeding a thrall grilled steak to level vitality is recommended. At this moment damage and defense are only effected by equipment.
@@KonFess Gruel is the best food for breaking thralls, the ingredients are easily farmed, it stacks to 100, doesn't spoil very quick and for taming the kind of food doesn't matter. A short run with a sickle will get you enough seeds and fiber to break many thralls, easier than farming meat. It's only when the thrall is tamed that the kind of food is important for levelling (gruel increases the chance for a thrall levveling its power, so also quite good)
Nice warpaint :) Additional for builders - if you want to enclose a standard Wheel of Pain, but don't want a square building - it will fit on the standard 'three layer' 'circle' - so 6 inner wedge foundations forming basic hexagon, plus first layer around that alternating wedge and square, plus second layer around that (1 square alternating with 3 wedges). (I've probably made that sound more complicated than I mean to - it's one of the most basic floorplan shapes in the game ;) ). And you can still get a roof over it at that size. Greater Wheel of Pain may be more difficult since you're going to need to go another ring wider, which means you won't have the stability for a full roof unless using mods (because of the way stability works with wedges) (but you can roof over a Greater Wheel in a square building pretty easily as shown in the vid).
@KiahOnFire There is another chest that may drop the the truncheon. You went to the one right below the deck of the pirate ship, but if you come in from the south (little waterway beneath the ship) and look up, about 15 feed up is another chest. It has the same loot table as the one higher and the lever door where you kill Neebs :D

Yes
oh, i didn't know anything about using arrows and a javelin too... thank you very much, good tutorial ^^
I love that I have to try and distinguish your voice from the background music
where do you got tats and are they free?
Mine are just applied with the pippi mod. But they're actually warpaints you can make to apply these in game, Think the one I have on is from a dlc tho
@@KiahOnFireOfficial thx hun..you rock btw
Great guide Kiah.
my friend bought me this game. i love ark. and this is a lot like it........ but omg so far hating it. this will help a lot. so few good tutorial video on this game..... no one really seems to play this game anymore and do videos it looks like. most videos i look up are well over a year old.
Rock n Roll....thanks for that! :) xxxx
Very helpful!! Thank you 😊
Lvl 4 just have names right?
correct
I ha e 4 tamed but don't know how to start building them as thay are blacked out in my chest
So if my Trucheon kills instead of knock out , what am i doing wrong ?
May need to apply a blunting because of to much strength, it will help negate damage
@@KiahOnFireOfficial i tried with the blunt javelin but still kills them ? Thanks for quck responce btw
@@KiahOnFireOfficial Every blunt object i tried ends up killing the potensial thralls bee on i t for the last 12 hours and nada thrall for me :D
I don't get the knockout bar above any of them :(
Any suggestions?
i cant knock them out and im using szeths truncheon what am i doing wrong?
You should be able to unless it's a thrall boss which is untameable.
If you find yourself doing too much damage, stick a blunting on it
dang, I'm sure people asked already, but which war-paint is this? Or is it a mod?
Is that warpaint in the game or a mod?
in the game
KiahOnFire oh nice what’s the name?
POKEY POKEY MATE! XD
What’s the benefit of getting higher tier thralls
They hit harder and have more health. or if a crafter they make things faster or cheaper
@@KiahOnFireOfficial oohhh thanks!
Someone can say how much time each tier 1-4 take to tame, I cant fint this information not even on the weki
Must be bugged for me cause the thralls don't show up on the wheel and in crafting queue.
how can I speed up thrall conversion?
A tier four taskmaster will be the fastest way.
I love your voice😍😋
Btw there is a point because better food means much faster breaking time
can you please put of the filter, because there is something you can't see
How do you get the first one there?
truncheon...dungeon.... you will notice they are spelled differently yet you call them trungeons throughout the entire video. my cringe glands cant take any more :(
sounds like a personal problem lol
Great video! What is the name of the outfit on your character?
Thank you so much... learned alot.. :D
I just got this game its awesome but so overwhelming
You should do an updated video with the new crafting.
Omg thank you
Do the different thrall races do different things
gives different starter stats on level 1
@@KiahOnFireOfficial ok thanks wasn't sure if it was just for role play or what 🤙
It sucks it always kills them before they get knocked out
I just tame thralls the same way I do in real life
“Pimp stick”
Not to sound harsh but you called feats engrams, this is not Ark, and editing a correct voice over with a script shouldn't be too hard, still better then firespark81 tho, atleast you pace your voice lol
I actually talk about the subject as a record most of the time and it's not scripted. I do my research beforehand and then it's brain spill.
Sorry about the muddle up on the feats/engrams, I play both of these games intensely so it happens on the odd ball.
@@KiahOnFireOfficial no I get it, but you should, in my opinion of course, have a bullet point script at the very least that way you can do 1 take and not mess up your words. Appreciate the reply though, keep up the good content, you are still imo the best Conan exiles content creator regardless of the mess up :P
Post physique
6.5hrs for t3 on a lesser wheel :(
Nice video thanks a lot but I can’t tell if this is a 10 year old boy or a high pitched women😂
I’m late to the game. Lol. Just got it on ps5. Ish. Lol
Wow, Nice video!!! Please, i need know this tatoo name.
"Thrall taming" lol how about "slave taking" lets not beat around the bush here haha
That's how I thought when I first started playing. I refused to make slaves. I never fought bosses and suffered. Now I believe I am saving them from a much more difficult life. I also play solo so no help from a clan.
Squeaker alert!
