- Do you press the Clutch First or Brake First When Stopping? It's a question that has puzzled many drivers. Some drivers always brake first when stopping whereas many drivers press the clutch before the brakes as they are concerned that the car may otherwise stall. A few drivers even choose to press both the clutch and the brake at the same time. So which is it?

I always put the clutch down first to avoid putting strain on to the clutch plate.
Hi, You will wear away the clutch faster
I have been putting the clutch first and then brakes even in an emergency situation and I have never been in an accident. When you start with brakes you will hurt yourself even your passengers... but I will practice your method though I think you must put neutral first to do your method in order to avoid the car to stall
Hi, How's your practice getting on. Have you seen a difference?
Very informative video.
