    Mainly good information, but there is a sense that you wan't the person being tested to massage your ego a little bit. Please remember that however competent they are, they're going to be very nervous, feeling under pressure, and also feeling a little bit intimidated. You hold their motoring future in your hands at that point. I mean this in the nicest possible way; Please consider how the student is likely to be feeling, and show some humility and understanding towards them. You were in their position once. Respect goes both ways, regardless of one's own position. And if you impress your students, they are likely to recommend you to their friends and bring you more business. Win, win for both of you.

    • @dtc_uk
      @dtc_uk  7 лет назад +30

      Hello, Thank you for your comments. I understand that pupils are nervous and many do things that they would not normally do. eg Many learners do not smile at the examiners and some do throw their licence on the table. This is understandable considering the pressure.
      My job is to make the candidate aware of this so they can start the driving test feeling positive and ready. Some driving examiner can be very rude when, say the pupil spends time searching for their licence or glasses.
      Please keep watching and commenting. Your comments are alway welcomed. DTC-UK

    Another hugely important tip : AFTER you know you have made a mistake or had one pointed out to you, continue to give your best effort. Stay focused and relaxed in the moment (slow breathing recommended) and UNDERSTAND that YOU CAN STILL PASS BECAUSE 100% IS NOT COMPULSORY. You just need to prove that you can drive safely and show an understanding of the rules. Great video tips .

      What absolute nonsense this is. You are not there to impress an examiner but to demonstrate that you are a safe competent driver. All the stuff about throwing the licence and shaking his/ her hand, Really. The examiner will ask for you by name and will be polite and courteous as is expected. In my thirty four years of teaching people to drive I have never once had a pupil throw a licence down when asked to present it. As for signing the declaration it’s all normal practice. It’s a Driving test and not a popularity contest. Examiners are civil servants doing a job and paid by you the public.

    What a load of waffle... it’s not a job interview, you don’t pass a driving test by being nice and polite.... furthermore, you may display a conflict of interest by being too friendly. Driving correctly and safely will keep the pen off the paper.

    I'm always polite and friendly, but my first examiner was offhand with me from the outset, so it was no surprise to me that he didn't pass me that day. At the test centre second time round, my heart sank when the same examiner called my name. However, this time he was like a different person and couldn't have been more helpful. After he gave me the pass certificate and congratulated me on a great drive, I asked him if he remembered me, and he laughed and said "Did you nearly kill me?" When I replied no, he said he only remembered the near-death experiences, which made us both laugh. I guess my point is that examiners are human and have bad days too. Maybe he saw his life flash before his eyes while testing a previous student. Who knows. Don't take it personally, and keep trying.

    To Smileygal. You need to be in the right gear for the turn, usually 2nd but maybe 1st if its a sharp bend. Remember the MSPSL routine. Do all your slowing on the brakes, into 2nd (block change from 4th) then you're in the correct gear to accelerate past the junction. Hope this helps.

    Those saying this counts for nothing, examiners are still humans, this will absolutely count subconsciously. A woman I know hesitated, went around a round-about 3 times no indicator and left it without. Still passed. I failed for doing 32 in a 30 for about 30 yards on anotherwise perfect run.

  • @RG-Zeldaplayer
    @RG-Zeldaplayer 7 лет назад +3

    I was very personable with my examiner... in spite of the fact that he smelled like week old garbage... It was actually slightly off putting during the test as I had to open a window whilst we were driving along. I was really taken aback by it since he's meant to be an official and therefore presentable.

      Driving Test UK I don't think it really affected my test too much... as soon as I started the test my focus was on driving well and not messing up... I made a couple of serious errors but that wasn't down to him. I felt perhaps I should have made a complaint to someone if only so they maybe had a quiet word with him about his personal hygene to make it more pleasant for other students.

  • @Devaye
    @Devaye 7 лет назад +2

    Coming up to my Third Test next week! Hope I pass!
    1st attempt was failed do to another driver and I messed up on a manoeuvre.
    2nd was because I had no minors and was a little cocky and stalled at the roundabout junction (was a serious) right around the corner from the test centre on the way back.
    3rd: Hopefully it's a Pass and I have a nice examiner and I'm calm on the day. No matter what gets thrown in my direction. (Hopefully I get a turn in the road manoeuvre to make this quick but most likely it won't be)
    I can do all manoeuvres, even after a little rust.. most I found difficult was the bay park. Easiest Parallel park don't know why.
    I'll update you on if I fail or pass, stay tuned..
    Edit: I Passed With 4 Minors! 3rd Attempt!!!

    • @dtc_uk
      @dtc_uk  6 лет назад +2

      You are expected to judge the speed of the car before you start to change lane. However, if the driver is being plain silly and pick up speed as you are changing lane- the examiner will see that.
      You can not fail because someone has decided to be a complete idiot 👍DTCUK

    I totally agree that being polite is good, as we should be to anybody we meet and anybody we’re conversing with, including driving examiners.
    However, I don’t exactly agree with the air of this video and some others I’ve seen, the implication that ‘being polite and dressing well etc will help you pass’ - if that is the case, that is an awful driving test system and the examiners who are more inclined to pass people like this need to take a look at themselves.
    Sure, rude people are asses, but your driving test isn’t a measure of how nice you are, it’s if you can drive safely. If I turn up in pyjamas and don’t smile at the examiner but drive safely, I should pass. If I turn up and am really lovely and dressed smartly but drive awfully, I should fail. That should be that. Common courtesy and dressing for occasions should be common sense and not something we use to help us pass a driving test..

    • @Dominate955
      @Dominate955 6 лет назад +2

      You don't. You dress however you want. You pay £60 for the test, not them. The driving test isn't as bad as it sounds. As long as you treat it as a driving lesson then you will be fine. With someone who has passed a driving test over a year ago all you need to do is apply what you have learnt in your lessons into your test, that's it! This video is bs if you ask me.

  • @RandyBakers
    @RandyBakers 6 лет назад

    You're there to pass a driving test, not kiss ass lol. My examinor was a twat and talked about football for half the test, asking me questions which I found very distracting when he was waiting for me to respond.
