I believe your how-to applies to most sram gripshifts. Slick how you avoid sliding the usually stuck on hand grips by pushing the other part inwards on the handlbars...My 1994 trek still has SRT400 grip shifts and your instructions on spot on for that old model too. I think one of the 'touts' for the design was rapid clicking thru the gears... Nice vid - I wish you'd go thru to explain how to install and adjust the cable the rest of the way

You just saved me , made the mistake of helping a friend who has no experience with bikes .... just built an electric mundo with xtr and for the life of me I could not replace his rusted right shifter from his wal mart bike..... until you explained it !!

Very nice work . I have a kids bike with that kinde of shifter and its blocked , simply just can not turn the switch to change the gear.

Have a similar grip shift. The gear number does not match the gear. For example, grip shift shows 2, but it is in one on the sprocket. Is this just a cable adjustment? Thanks.

I have a mongoose excursion and when I went to pull mine apart it's a little different but the metal piece fell out and I don't know how to put it back in the right way and I don't know how to put it back in the right way and I've looked up videos and I can't find a please help

My bike's gear shifter is stiff and wont move a single slot and it is right now on 5th gear and my bike is supercycle sc1800. plz help, let me know a solution without replacing a shifter.
Cable tension is wrong.
The LH (3-speed) SRAM shifter is wired differently. No one ever shows that one on RUclips.
I've rejected many bikes over the years due to them having any version of any brand of grip shift. I just hate them.
the first time working with grip shift, i accidentally did that and i thought i broked it. lol
Gotta change the cables on the wife's bikes grip shifts and I'm not looking forward too it...
