Pete Rose is not banned from the sport from betting. He's banned due to a mutual agreement to be banned so they would end the investigation after lying for years that he was not betting, and then it turned to "I only bet as a manager" which turned to "I only bet for my team". Everyone says that he never bet against the Reds, but there's no proving that, and the fact Rose agreed to be banned to end the investigation makes it questionable.
A.J. Hinch is a clown and deserves to be suspended, but he was openly against the sign stealing and didn't start it. The league refuses to punish the players, who are the ones who should be punished for it, so they make the manager take all the heat instead.
It's just a bunch of what-about-isms to defend Rose. What he did hurt the integrity of the games he was playing/managing in. It is not hypocritical of the MLB to ban Hinch for just 1 year

Every time Pete Rose came to the bat, we all knew he was going to get at least a single but likely a double. I was there. The guy was real. It’s not because it was illegal. It’s because it’s unethical. Like they said, the biggest sign in every clubhouse states IF YOU GAMBLE YOU WILL BE BANNED FOR LIFE. Pete knew what was up. He decided to throw away the fact that he was a sure Hall of Famer to gamble. If he that little ability to not do it, then he probably would’ve done anything to continue gambling. Just because he says he wasn’t pushed to that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have done it in the future. Don’t get me wrong, I love Pete, but the rules were clear. And he denied it & all that stuff. Rule 21, posted in every MLB clubhouse and read aloud every year to every player, states, in part: "Any player, umpire, or Club or League official or employee, who shall bet any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has a duty to perform, shall be declared permanently ineligible."

Lots of assumptions and hypothetical scenarios are made in this video about what Pete might’ve done or what they believe Pete probably did based on what they would’ve done or what they think gamblers would do. No evidence whatsoever. He bet on baseball and his own team, that’s what we know. Cora, Beltran and the Astros, Red Sox, etc, developed entire intricate high tech espionage systems that would’ve required many people to employ, to cheat the entire game. Probably had stuff strapped to dudes with Bluetooth buzzers and who knows what else? Plenty of video evidence of that. Stop comparing what you’re dreaming in your head about Pete Rose to what we already know to be fact plus other information that there’s reasonable evidence for.

The SI cover predicting the Astros' 2017 title was published in June 2014. It was tongue-in-cheek in its brashness, inspired by the optimism in the Astros' rebuilding program. Even if Houston was cheating in 2014, how would anyone know it would come to fruition in exactly three years?

If he believes that is a good argument against what Pete did, then he should support all the guys that used steroids too, right! They didn't hit home runs all the time. Cheating did more damage to the game than Pete. HOF #14

Every manager should think to win the game they’re in at the moment, you worry about tomorrow when it comes, if you need to blow out your bullpen to win tonight, then do it, if you’re a manager you should be smart enough to know what to do about tomorrow’s game tomorrow not during some other game

The Houston Astros should be required to change their name to Asterix for at least several years, while MLB arranges for a forced sale and relocation to another city. That's a no-brainer.

I remember going to a signing Steve Garvey had. As my sons and I walked up to get a jersey signed, Jay Johnstone product how Steve Garvey was on the ballot for Hall of Fame. I responded with that's great however I don't think anybody belongs in the Hall of Fame. So then Steve Garvey slammed the table and began cussing refusing to sign the jersey. All we could do is walk away and laugh. Much respect to Jay he defused the situation and gave us some comps. GIVE PETE JUSTICE!!!

Members of upper management should be BANNED for life. Players should've been suspended, they should be force to vacate all wins during that season including the World Series title, and the team should be canned for a year.
Pete Rose was banned for life for betting! This organization intentionally cheated during on the field of play.
