This was so helpful!! Thank you so much for being thorough and explaining more than just connecting Pirate Ship to the Shopify account. You have answered my question I have been having on how in the world do I get the Pirate Ship rates to show up on Shopify for my customer to see....I have to add in it myself!!

Glad you enjoyed it! I figured I'd add Pirate Ship since shipping is so expensive these days! Gotta save money while you can!

Trying to decide if I want to ship Internationally due to not wanting to have to pay any extra duties or taxes and have a few more question. Do you have the cheapest plan or do you have the $79 a month plan? When you ship internationally with Shopify, do you need to fill out customs forms? Thanks

I have the cheapest plan. Yeah, you have to put in the HS code for every item in their product pages. I also use Pirate ship for all of my international orders, you get a better price.

Sorry, one more question! Does Pirate Ship, and/or Shopify inform you when a package has been delivered? Or do I have to manually go in and track the shipment? Thanks!

So when you send out an order, if you go to your order page on Shopify, there's a section where it will show if the order has been delivered. You'll see the order number along the left side, but if you look towards the top of that section you'll see things like "order number, date, customer, channel" ect. If you look under delivery status, you can see if your order is in transit or delivered. I hope that helped!

I have a question about International shipping. I have the cheapest Shopify plan. I plan on using Pirate Ship to ship internationally to give my customers the best price. Does Pirate Ship add in all the duties and taxes when giving rates? Do you need to have any forms in a clear envelope on the outside of the box for customs, or is the shipping label sufficient? Thanks!

When it comes to customs, Pirate Ship gives you a section to fill out! I haven't needed to put anything other than the shipping label on the packages yet. As for the customers, they won't be able to see how much they'll possibly have to pay for duties. What I do is I have a Shipping policy page on my website that says the customer is in charge of paying duties.

Did you have to set up your markets tab to ship internationally?

Yeah, you have to add the countries you want to ship to in your shipping rates section.

hi, i'm a lil confused with how you set up shipping on shopify if you're going to use pirate ship. starting with setting up shipping zones on shopify if you are using usps because i've been reading other videos and comments and someone mentioned that if someone picks a shipping that is priced at lets say $8 for shipping but pirate ship finds (like in your video) a cheaper label for $3 that sounds amazing and you profit the rest but i'm just confused how to intitally set up your shipping zones in shopify but you are saying to sett up cutom shipping or doesgetting cheap shipping on pirate ship only works if you set custom shipping rates - i'm just confused sorry :(

Just focus on setting up your shipping for Shopify first. If you find shipping still too expensive, use Pirate Ship. It's a website that integrates into your Shopify store. You don't HAVE to set up custom shipping rates, you can just use carrier rates. I add custom rates for things like free shipping and international orders.
