- I just wanted to share a GREAT resource I recently found out about - this may help you too if you need to ship items, but dont want to go into the post office. It's a website called Pirate Ship where you can purchase shipping labels from home, print them out and even schedule package pickup! It's really a great resource.

Of you schedule pickup will they pickup up the next business day or is it a while from when they will pick the package up?

Great video. But I still dont understand where and who gets paid for the postage?
So you pay thru pirate ship - then you get a USPS label to use- they have a deal w USPS so they pay USPS after you pay them- they basically have a deal to buy bulk to get it a little cheaper and pass the savings on to us. You can use their rates to know what to charge ur customer - don’t forget to add a little extra to cover boxes or mailers! Hope that helped!

What if you’re worried about “porch pirates” stealing your packages?
Not really- I have security cams and if you don’t feel comfortable u can drop them off at ur local USPS - I have done it both ways 🥰

If I choose a flat rate box does that include the box in the price or will I have to buy a box separately? Sorry for the stupid question
Hmm- I’m not sure about that honestly- I THINK u can get the flat rate boxes for free from your post office but give them a call- they would be able to tell u that- then u could get a bunch and keep them at home for when u need them. Not 100% sure about that but ur post office will know that! 🥰

So pirate ship will pick up your packages for you regardless of the location? Or does the location need to be eligible for usps or other carriers to pick it up?
It’s ur post man that picks them up so as long as it’s a location that delivers mail they should be able to pick up the package as well!

You chose if ur mailing in box or mailer- then put the dimensions- then click to get the price- u can just not buy the label and go back and keep putting diff dimensions in to see what the price differences are! It will calculate it all for u! U can also save ones u use frequently so it’s faster

Can I use Avery Shipping Labels on my printer?, & will it print directly on or will it be crooked?
I use labels in my printer (the ones that have 2 labels on a page) and they work fine- not crooked! Good luck!

what if my package is whatever length in inches plus 3 quarters of an inch? how do you enter that? goodness i feel so helpless lol
I would just round up! So if it's 3 3/4" I would round to 4 - hope that helps! :) TAKE CARE!
About how fast does USPS pick up your package from your front door?
And if he didn’t want USPS to pick up your package how would you drop off the package? Could you drop it in the box or do you have to physically go inside ?
Hi! You schedule the day for them to pick it up and they come and get it sometime that day- or you can take it to USPS and drop it off. I believe you may be talking about the blue letter boxes- if so you can not put a package inside of those- there are package drop off places inside- or just hand it to them! Hope that helps!
I've never used Pirate ship before so this was really helpful, but does anyone know how you would take measurements for a polymailer? Am I supposed to measure it without the item inside or with everything packaged?
I fold the top flap down with it empty to get the length/width then package the item and try to get the height as close as poss- I honestly don’t think it matters as long as it’s close- just put a slight bit bigger if u need to round! 🥰 I’m glad u found the video helpful!
@@ScrappyStitch with a poly mailer, you input the dimensions of the polymer but does those dimensions like matter when it's like packed so like for example I have 10 by 13 polymillers. And I'm shipping somebody like three pieces of clothing in the bag that is not fully full do I leave it as a 10x13 or do I change the measurements? Thank you

Nope- not as long as u buy the shipping label!

Not sure- they probably have a FAQ section on their website- or call the post office to be sure!

I don’t think so - I think u need to be able to print them at home. A lot of post offices have kiosks that u can do the same thing and print the label there so maybe that would help u? 🥰
Can pirate ship be linked with postmate to pull customer shipping info?

how did you print using a regular printer? i was going to invest in a label printer but if i don't need to i'd rather not
When I print the label out I select my printer just like you would when printing anything at home - I don’t have a label printer - I just print to my home printer - you can print on regular paper and then use clear packing tape to stick it on or print to the large labels that are on paper size sheets (there’s 2 on a page) hope that helps!

I got over that @ about 2:27 in the video. after you fill in your package info click GET RATES (green button at the bottom right) then chose the option for the cost you want and then click BUY LABLE (bottom right button). You can enter your credit card info and store it for future purchases! Hope this helps! :)

I believe you are talking about the names and addresses that I have intentionally blurred out for privacy reasons which I state many times in the video why I have done this. All the info needed to navigate Pirate Ship is shown in the video.
