So Samsung Pay will work everywhere Apple pays does, but Samsung Pay works where Apple pay doesn't. Plus Samsung are Android devices so you can also use Google pay as a second option. Androids offer more payment options.
Samsung pay is the clear winner for me, trying to find nfc terminals is a nightmare and that's a disadvantage right off the bat for apple & android pay
***** bro, I'm currently rocking my iPhone, holy crap I haven't tried Apple Pay yet....on my Note I used to pay a lot with Samsung pay, it depends on location I guess. Me..I cannot find anything NFC for my life outside of Dunkin Donuts and Best Buy.
great video. I do have to say that I have used samsung pay everyday and everywhere from convenient stores to grocery stores to even checking into a hotel. it worked very smoothly. the average transaction time for it to read is approximately 6secs. This ranges from newer terminals to old terminals.
+Jim Rossman I have to say that I have never used apple pay so I can't say it is better than Samsung. The only thing I can say is that Samsung is supported virtually everywhere and it's hard to find Apple pay. I actually went 2 days without my CC in wallet and I made every transaction.
+Jim Rossman Thank you for the full disclosure that you actually own an iPhone and an Apple Watch as your personal smart phone. Most journalists never even do proper disclaimers anymore as an unbiased reporter.
love Samsung Pay. And it does work at Wal-Mart, though it's trickier because of the way their card sliders are designed. So far, every place I've tried, it's worked.
You say its "fun to play around with and impress your friends". That isnt what the most important reason for mobile payments. Its SECURITY and PORTABILITY. It's secure in that no real credit card numbers are used in the transaction (unlike actual credit cards) because it uses virtual credit card numbers and its portable as you dont have to carry around as much cards in your wallet.
You don't want to use either Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay or use a contactless card on vending machines, as you'll get hit with additional charges. Happened to me the other day when I used Samsung Pay to get myself a $1.50 drink; Wounded up having an extra $2.50 charge just for it.
you need to know where magnetic pulse component is located. I believe it's on the right side of the phone. it will be easier then. i am hoping samsung is working on stronger magnetic signal from the phone.
Can someone explain to me what's the difference between apple pay and samsung pay??? I've been to many stores that only accept samsung pay and not apple pay so I wanna know what different technology they have?
MST Magnetic Secure Transmission. Basically your phone emulate the Stripe on a real credit card. So any terminal that accepts swipe WILL accept Samsung Pay. However, they removed this hardware in S21 series and above. Which honestly I don't care as I'm not in the US. Where I am everywhere accept nfc
I wouldn't say it is "hard" like you said in the end of the video, it's just learning how to use the tech, and know how to spot someone who is willing to work with you (like you did in the video) and pay for it. If it is somewhere where you have to reach across, (like you did in the video) its probably not going to work. It takes retraining the cashiers, because all I say is, is that they need to run the transaction just like I was going to pay with a card, and let me do the rest. Usually that works. Unless you are at a sit down restaurant... don't let the waiter walk away with your phone. Just give them the card instead. Don't try it at gas station pumps or ATMs either. It won't work (push in readers, not sliders).
In the restaurant, he wasn't placing the phone in the correct spot, the phone is supposed to be where the card is supposed to be swiped which is why his fourth attempt worked. Not ideal in those kind of environments, but it did work. Apple pay will take a long time to be implemented everywhere as small businesses will take the longest time implementing that technology.
I love how hard he's trying to not say Samsung pay is better or anything. the ability to pay virtually anywhere>crapples solution. Samsung pay with MST is simply the victor here, you can bet your bottom dollar Apple will adopt in on the iPhone 9. yes 9, because they are always 2 years behind Android in technology. like still not having good low light camera, no fast charging, no full HD screen, no led screen, and tbe list goes on ...
+Sachin Nair You mean this year...iPhone 7 is coming this September...iPhone 7S or maybe iPhone 8 is coming next year. I hear they are gonna discounting the S model and focus on just the iPhone and implement new hardware features for the next iPhone :)
I used to do this in 2013 on my galaxy s4...smh I hate how people thinks apple innovate every piece of technology...Google wallet never got half the exposure apple pay did yet it was the same technology..used years before smh..
Great. Samsung pay is great. It doesnt need any special mechine. Just reguler mechine can accept it, so no meed more cost for tenant to adopting this payment. Save cost for get more
+Jim Rossman I am a beta tester and I'm using SAMSUNGPAY for many weeks already. After I replaced my S6 by the new S6 EDGE Plus and my wife S6 EDGE by NOTE 5, the experience is much better & faster. That maybe a combination of new hardware inside the NOTE 5 & S6 EDGE Plus with the latest software update. Apple Pay & Android can't hold a candle to #SAMSUNGPAY anyday and anywhere. Have a great day to y'all
S6 & S6 edge are the same BUT I said S6 EDGE PLUS and NOTE 5.... I had the regular S6 and used it at the same stores with the same credit cards and the S6 EDGE PLUS is much faster to use 2-3 seconds I'm done vs the older s6 of 7-8 seconds. Please reading comprehension is a MUST!!! Have a great day
How do you know? I have experience now with the S6 EDGE PLUS vs S6 EDGE (wife phone). We both used it in Walmart,Target, etc... and the Plus has faster transaction. Now you know!!! Have a great day
+Jon H Apple Pay is supported on any NFC terminal and will not, by any means, work on a machine not set up for NFC payments. I will add, however, that Apple Pay is easier to use thanks to NFC and iOS.
Rajiv Malhotra I'm not talking about customization. I'm talking about the speed it runs things at. Like how Michael said samsung pay is "too slow". This is because the operating system is trash. This is also why there partnering up with with blackberry to make there OS better. Also, everywhere I used apple pay so far worked for me.
I find it funny that immature people literally argue about which is better the the iPhone 6 or the galaxy and really what I think they're both good they both have their up and down sides but in the video in basically proves that the Galaxy has advantages in mobile pay. really you can't argue which is better because they're the same phones with different operating systems with different looks. Phone are ment to make contacting people easier.
Jack Man that's not a downside, haha. I showed some people the responses some Apple fans give..... and it makes them embarrassed to be an Apple fan. My samsung galaxy was $1,099 which is more than a lot of the iPhones I see. I am much more proud about owning my galaxy. Whenever I am with friends and we all take pictures my pictures always turn out the best and everyone sees them and asks me to use my camera.
No, Apple Pay has been around far longer than android pay...android pay copied Apple Pay, in the way that it handles transactions. Google wallet on the other hand, has been around far longer than Apple Pay...but didn't handle the transactions in the same fashion as Apple/android pay. That's why Google scrapped it and rebranded.
+Young Travels You're totally wrong. Google Wallet let you use NFC payments way before apple pay was even thought of. All that happened was that they separated it into android pay for NFC payments and use Google Wallet part for the loyalt cards/etc
+peng Guan samsung pay is slower when the place your gonna swipe your credit is long you know what i mean but it doesn't take 1.5 minutes i have tried it and the reviewer is just dumbass
Samsung pay works on a lot more places than Apple pay does. And Samsung pay doesn't take long to work either. Only when you are stretching your arm out to the card reader without even looking where you are pointing it. which is what happened here in the video. But if it's upfront and seen it's fast
It was slower because he tested Samsung Pay with legacy reader which uses MST, not NFC. Samsung Pay is as fast as others if used with NFC enabled reader.
by your grammar I assume you are working at McDonalds and an Apple fanboy. or just a 10 year old kid that only has gotten one phone in his life which was an iPhone so he thinks that's the best
zZKEEPWICKEDZz English not my first language, I went to school trying to learn it. I never try to insult, your Phone. If I did sorry, and for your information I have a Nexus phone.
+zZKEEPWICKEDZz You may not realise this but they let people from outside of Merica on the internet. @Dylan R Everything you said is 100% wrong.
@Dylan R thats lies. it depends on where you live and most stores in my region are shit so i use samsung pay for the mag strip and it works great
lol that guy was not impressed at 3:00
great video. I do have to say that I have used samsung pay everyday and everywhere from convenient stores to grocery stores to even checking into a hotel. it worked very smoothly. the average transaction time for it to read is approximately 6secs. This ranges from newer terminals to old terminals.

love Samsung Pay. And it does work at Wal-Mart, though it's trickier because of the way their card sliders are designed. So far, every place I've tried, it's worked.
5 years later, paying with your phone is now extremely common LOL
You say its "fun to play around with and impress your friends". That isnt what the most important reason for mobile payments. Its SECURITY and PORTABILITY. lmao at how fast he added "for right now" when mentioning only samsung features mts
3 years later and Samsung still the only one offering it lmao
You don't want to use either Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay or use a contactless card on vending machines, as you'll get hit with additional charges.
Happened to me the other day when I used Samsung Pay to get myself a $1.50 drink; Wounded up having an extra $2.50 charge just for it.
Great vid, I saw a glimpse of the swipe/magnetic capabilities of the s6 and was wondering if it'd work with card reader. Now I know
you need to know where magnetic pulse component is located. I believe it's on the right side of the phone. it will be easier then. i am hoping samsung is working on stronger magnetic signal from the phone.

I use Samsung Pay on the the Gear S3. I can't remember the last time I swiped a card.
In uk I have never seen that magnetic reader. Never. Its nfc or nothing here. Also, android pay doesn't require opening an app!
I like how he said "For a minute", He's hip.
Great tutorial! Thank you!

can you use your samsung pay edge phone with a thick case?
+optimusgts Yes you can.
+optimusgts , I have tried my S6 with very think metal case, and it worked! FYI
+Jun Ch
on have
watch from 1:15 .
LOL apple pay activates when he just held the phone for like 1 second and he wasn't even trying to pay.
that is fast
Samsung pay, hands down
In the restaurant, he wasn't placing the phone in the correct spot, the phone is supposed to be where the card is supposed to be swiped which is why his fourth attempt worked. Not ideal in those kind of environments, but it did work. Apple pay will take a long time to be implemented everywhere as small businesses will take the longest time implementing that technology.
yeah, he is right
2:03 That's what she said... XD
This was a horrible comparison it didn't really compare the two and it only showed Samsung pay barely working a 1 place
and it works on Galaxy s5 aswell
Nope, s5 doesn't have the MST Chip inside of c it that'll make it able to use Samsung Pay!
I love how hard he's trying to not say Samsung pay is better or anything. the ability to pay virtually anywhere>crapples solution. You mean iPhone 7S. Right now it's 6S and next year it will be 7, followed by 7S
+Sachin Nair actually their are rumors of them going straight to the iPhone 8 so you may be wrong
+Sachin Nair You mean this year...iPhone 7 is coming this September...iPhone 7S or maybe iPhone 8 is coming next year. I hear they are gonna discounting the S model and focus on just the iPhone and implement new hardware features for the next iPhone :)
guess what they skipped the 9 and they dont have mst lmao
Employees beer fund HAHAHAHA

Are you that impatient?
What he didnt tell you make sure you press complete on the device on the machine, otherwise your about to buy chips for next 100+ users
This video makes a difference between Android and iOS

I have a Note 5 and a S6
samsung pay is great! has worked for me at Walgreens cvs and walmart on first try .
Danm Samsung Pay is slow and is still slow using cash might be easier
After years of Apple Copying Android and Samsung, and Android and Samsung copying Apple, Samsung finally comes up with something useful!
+Jariel Jimenez It's useful if it doesn't take 1.5 minutes to use :)
Brian C It really doesn't take that long, you know...
As long as your bank is supported...
+Jon H Apple Pay is supported on any NFC terminal and will not, by any means, work on a machine not set up for NFC payments. I will add, however, that Apple Pay is easier to use thanks to NFC and iOS.
+Jon H I was pretty sure you understood NFC, but sometimes I like to explain it just in case.
it took lot of attempt he simply doctored the video
Samsung pay is so slow!
at least it works almost anywhere
+Michael Young because samsung's operating system is garbage
10002k9 nope. It's more customizable.
Plus apple pay sucks... it doesn't work everywhere
Rajiv Malhotra I'm not talking about customization. I'm talking about the speed it runs things at. Like how Michael said samsung pay is "too slow". This is because the operating system is trash. +Michael Young it's slow if you don't operate it the right way dumbass
i cringed so hard at 2:50
apple pay is 10 times better. and 2 second thing. people love copying apple.
Sorry for being 2 years late but google wallet was first smh so many uneducated ishits thinking apple invented this
we will invoke Samsung pay
Samsung pay is much better than Apple Pay 💰

Apple Pay is much more faster than Samsung pay
but samsung pay you can use at way more places so I would choose samsung pay and just wait a couple seconds longer
+peng Guan samsung pay is slower when the place your gonna swipe your credit is long you know what i mean but it doesn't take 1.5 minutes i have tried it and the reviewer is just dumbass

most supermarkets dosen't support nfc . (MST Only)
samsung👏👍
Samsung pay suck, soo many people try using it at my job. and almost if not all fail, unlike the Apple pay. Which always work.
