I was so lucky to have seen them the first time on this tour. It was amazing how they rocked 65'000 people in the stadium in Basel - it was one of my first stadium rock concerts after Bruce Springsteen and Pink Floyd (yes I could see them still live :)). I have seen them 20 years later again in a stadium they had to build here in Zurich especially for their show as it was huge!
Not actually a big Stones fan but they were and still are a great live act! Go to see them as long as you can. Yes, they have background musicians doing their more difficult parts, but they still do an amazing show. - And so did Alice Cooper who was here in town yesterday!

Hi Markus! They must have been on fire back then! I know Jagger has an amazing stage presence. Thanks so much for watching this one. You're in Switzerland?

@@retroreactions.... Yes, also Keef is great on stage. And Charlie was just the perfect drummer for them. I know they have a new one on tour now who is fantastic, but it's not Charlie. Bill Wyman was also still there at that first time. And yes, I am living in the Zurich area but once have been living in Sao Paulo :D Keep your great reactions up! I also always love your fitting backgrounds. Once for the Obscured by Clouds reactions you were choosing a view from top of Mt Rigi. I grew up merely 30km from that place.

Can’t believe I’ve never heard this before! 1989. Well beyond their bad boy rocker schtick of the 60s &70s. They could do whatever they wanted by this point. It sounds like early European chill out/house/world fusion music that emerged in the mid 90s. I’d expect to hear this on a Cafe del Mar or Buddha Bar compilation. Glitzy, mysterious, worldly - sounds like something the Stones likely evolved into.

Wow, that was great! I really haven't paid attention to the Stones in decades because most of what they do doesn't really resonate with me.
I have nostalgic love for some of their late 60's/early 70's hits because I heard them so much on the radio and played a few as covers in bands but they have one album that I REALLY love because its very non-typical for them (as far as I know), 1967's "Their Satanic Majesties Request", which is very psychedelic and often similar to things The Beatles were doing at the time. My favorites are "She's A Rainbow" and especially "2000 Light Years From Home", which is one of the greatest psychedelic songs from the late 1960's IMHO!
    Mick Jagger - vocals, maracas
Keith Richards - backing vocals, lead guitar, fuzz bass
Brian Jones - Mellotron, electric dulcimer
    Bill Wyman - bass, oscillator
    Charlie Watts - drums
    Nicky Hopkins - piano
Unidentified musicians - female backing vocals, plucked piano strings, claves
This person did great job on making a stop-motion video for the song out of the elements of the album cover. Well worth watching, it's under 5 minutes and will give you a new perspective of The Stones! ;-) ruclips.net/video/nRc0yaMW7Mw/видео.html

In 69 their founder Brian Jones died. Roughly a year before he died he recorded Moroccan tribe and an album was released a year after his death. 20 years later in 1989, the Stones re-engaged with the same tribe to record this song in his honour. Brian Jones forever

Thanks for giving this song a spin. I thought you might like it. Being one who listens closely, I thought it best to find songs that might tantalize the ear, rather than shout into it...and this one has lots of candy for the ear. And thanks for your kind words and demeanor. In a jaded and cruel world, it makes a difference toward the good. We need more peace and calm.

That opening sounded more like a Tea Party song than Rolling Stones. I was almost expecting to hear the deep, dark voice of Jeff Martin insteadbof Mick!

If you wanna check them out I highly recommend 'Save Me' from their first album Splendor Solis

I wasn’t the biggest Stones fan, but of course familiar with all of their big hits. As much as we do agree my friend, this song I believe was a first listen for me, but it was only a meh for me. It just didn’t resonate with me as others do. I know we’re on the same page probably 95+ % of the time.

Oh OK. Definitely a different kind of song, but I really connected. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, for giving it a go and for being first! 🥇 Would be too scary if we agreed 100% of the time ☺

I did give another listen to it, and I’ll say that I would up things a little to at least a meh++. Lol I’m debating another show to attend…..while checking out the Arcada Theater lineup, I didn’t realize that 10CC is going be there on August 1!! Cheap seats start out at only $39. I really got to think this one over??

It's impossible to me to listen to The Rolling Stones, and especially not them attempting to prog rock so late in their career.
It's absolutely horrible but I did it for you Brandon!
I understand everything you say but it leaves me cold and hostile,
    Hate Mick Jagger.

If you made me listen to this as a guess, and this is the first time for me I wouldn't believe it was the rolling stones! I believe they usually kept their Rocking style, so I was wrong. Well, they believe they can offer any special project at any time, but it's probably a common effort with so many guests that it feels very less like them apart Mick Jagger's voice. Interesting that they tried this mix of progressive and world, but it must have been a momentum opportunity. Not bad at all, but not what the Stones were about, what do the hard core fan say about? (well I'm not really 😉) Captivating journey but it's more a producer release where they seemed to be barely involved, then it hopefully gave a kick to all the rest of the team. Chill mood 😇
