Hello everyone! My name is Brandon, and welcome to my channel. Growing up as a kid in the 70's/80's and in high school and college in the 90's, I was fortunate to experience what I consider to be the best 3 decades of music ever, back when it was all new. My fondness and addiction to that music continues to this day. Having watched reaction channels here on RUclips for many years now, I have always wanted to start one of my own. Now is the time to make my dream a reality by creating music reactions to the songs from my favorite decades, the 70's, 80's and 90's. The good thing about my life's musical journey is that, though I know countless songs from these eras, I have never explored deep into the albums of many of these artists. Now I have the perfect opportunity to discover hundreds of new gems from back in the days! I'm quite excited and hope you enjoy my reactions, and that you will come along on this musical adventure with me. Much love, peace and great tunes!!!

OK, you had me going there. Jon and Ian did a song together? Aweso........ oops. Guess not. SO close! That's a new Anderson track for me (nice) but I am well familiar with the wonderful Solstice Bells. I could not even guess how many times I've heard the latter, but could be in the triple digits by now. Great stuff.
Moving Waves was the first album I ever bought. I love Eruption. The section called Tommy originated as part of a piece by Solution called Divergence and was written by their mate Tommy Barlage hence the name on Eruption. Tommy Barlage also played sax on Jan Akkerman's album 'Live' recorded at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1978.
First Christmas reaction video --> Two excellent selections, Brandon... although I prefer "Save All Your Love" by Jon Anderson. It's already the start of the gift giving!
Thanks! Just 2 more Christmas videos for a number of reasons, but I'm betting you'll love tonight's songs when you get to watching it! 💙
@@retroreactions.... They are gifts. I don't consider quantity!
💙
This is one my all time favs another is Mark Knopfler Coming home off the movie local hero
Ring Out, Solstice Bells" from Jethro Tull:The entire theme and instruments are performed by Ian Anderson
I really like this 'reaction video' You don't stop the recording every five seconds with interjections like many others do. I love good reaction videos for The Beatles because I almost feel like I'm hearing them for the first time along with the listener, and I feel a renewed sense of wonder at The Beatles' genius. My favourite track on the medley is You Never Give Me Your Money. It's gorgeous. Four distinct sections to the song and four different vocal styles from Macca. And the haunting way it fades into Sun King. Just beautiful. Her Majesty was actually not supposed to be on the album. Paul asked the engineer (John Kurlander) to get rid of it. It was included as the final track by accident. The Medley is almost incomprehensible in its blinding brilliance.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I also like watching music reaction videos where they pause only once or zero times! More Beatles coming to the channel this month!! 😊
Seconds out is one of the best live albums ever recorded, Cinema Show in particular is way better than the original studio version.
Thanks
Aw, thank you so much my friend... very kind! 🤗
loooooove SAGA ( hello from Denmark )
"...all the way back to 1991 and 1993..." lol. That was pretty much yesterday.
Now, you can stop listening to that Taylor Swifty stuff.....
Thanks for doing the right version of "Ring Out Solstice Bells"! They have a version on their Christmas album too, but it is inferior to this one!
Jethro Tull put out the best Christmas album, in the 2000's.
Thanks!
Wow, thanks my kind friend.. 🤗
I saw this tour. My favorite concert as Steve Hackett was still with the band. I was 14.
Thanks!
Thank you Cliff!
Very Nice!!
Great to hear the start of your Christmas week! Both were pleasing to the ears and brought a nice Christmas vibe. If you’ve not decided on all of your Christmas lineup yet, there are many amazing songs on David Arkenstone’s Christmas album. FYI…Midnight Pie has an intense chocolate filling that contains espresso and some form of liquor. You and family are in my thoughts! 😊
Thank you. I want more of any live version, even live video ! Don't be shy.
She's justed the greatest singer on this green earth! Brilliance!
Ring Out Solstice Bells is my favourite Christmas song.
Both nice songs, although I would have flipped the rating around, giving "Ring Out, Solstice Bells" five golden records or maybe a platinum? But I've been listening to it for decades and I can understand how it might sound like a bit of a mess on first listen? 😁 Tull has several lovely Christmas themed songs, one of my favorites is the original version of "Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow" found on the 1988 box set "20 Years of Jethro Tull" and as a bonus track on the remastered "Broadsword and the Beast" album. The are at least a couple later versions that were remixed, rearranged, and resung that are just OK to disappointing IMHO as they pale in comparison to the original in varying degrees. They seemed to try to soften and smooth out the arrangement and Ian's voice was getting worse with each revision. Another early song I love is "Pan Dance", a lovely little instrumental that was the last track on their first version of a Christmas album from 1976, just an EP of 4 songs titled "Ring Out, Solstice Bells" which has the title track, "March, The Mad Scientist", "Christmas Song", and "Pan Dance".
Midnight pie? 😆 Midnight choir. Great reactions!
"Midnight Pie" would be a good name for a late 70's/early 80's glam band? 😄
Fantastic Brandon. Winter Solstice on Saturday 🎉 A big Pagan festival, with Stonehenge free to the public here. The only other day is the Summer Solstice on June 21. I’ve never heard either of these so a total surprise 😊 I really liked the Tull song! More 80s Yes (my permanent request 😂😂)
Jon has at least 6 much better Christmas songs on his 3 Ships album. My favorite of his is the video for Give Hope.
Run With The Fox by Chris Squire and Alan White is a must 🎄🎶🙏🎶🎄
Fantastic Brandon. Winter Solstice on Saturday 🎉 A big Pagan festival, with Stonehenge free to the public here. The only other day is the Summer Solstice on June 21. I’ve never heard either of these so a total surprise 😊 Both were amazing but Tull is the champion here More 80s Yes (my permanent request)
Solstice Bells had an earlier release called RIng out Magic bells. Interestingly the Christmas album has just been re released with a remix of all songs. Its a great seasonal listen. Solstice Bells is a massive hit in the uk. all shopping centres and radio stations play it often. A real grower
Hey Brandon! Jon Anderson THE VOICE. THE MASTER. FOREVER YES❣️❣️❣️🎤🎤🎤 Love and Light ❤️🌅👍😎
"I believe in father christmas" from Greg Lake is a great lovely song too 🙌
The lyrics are by the late Pete Sinfield, who passed away last month. RIP Pete Sinfield.
@@charleswagner2984 indeed, actually have just learned that by listening to and old video of Robert Fripp talking about this song
@@mariaabriani6334 Sinfield is the lyricist for the first four Crimson albums. I wished he did more work for other artists. His solo album is fantastic. Twenty some studio musicians on it.
Hi Brandon, Thank You for a Christmas dose of Jon and Jethro! Dressed my 🎄whilst listening. To me Jon sounds Angelic most times, since Wonderous Stories and he Always was the Lead of Yes! And Ian and his Flute always so Magical, both such wonderful Songs. Merry Christmas to You and Yours Brandon 🤍✨
Jon Anderson blows my mind, every song he sings is beautiful
SO true!! Thanks so much for watching and for being the first comment here Freyjabeth...😊 🥇
@@retroreactions....The late Pete Sinfield wrote the lyrics to the Emerson Lake And Palmer Christmas song Father Christmas. Rest in peace Pete Sinfield.
Heartwarming tunes with strong winter and holiday vibes... Thanks for watching! ☃
Anderson has at least 6 much better Christmas songs than this one. Give Hope is his best, but you might love others on his Christmas album as much. Please react to the video for Give Hope.
One of the best Iive albums A masterpiece Was lucky to see Genesis live here in the UK several times and Hacketts solo tours
Neptune has definitely claimed my soul the day I first heard this song. Heavenly...⛅☀⭐
The Beatles were and still are the most unique group of musically geniuses ever. nobody is even come close.
I think Supper's Ready also exceeds the studio version on this live album. That's rare for me, I normally prefer studio versions.
Phil could sing! When he and Chester played together it was magic. The whole band was lit. Great performance of a great song.
Firth of Fifth is one my my all-time ' best evers' Brandon. I must be the only guy in the world who prefers the studio version if only for the proper piano?
I can't even begin to find the words that would respectfully and properly explain and colour the musically emotional impact these songs had and have in my life. The word genius gets thrown around enough that it has sadly diluted the impact when it has honestly and truly appears. It applies here. These four musical geniuses crafted songs and music that became the blueprint for all contemporary rock that came after. The impact and influence of the Beatles is incalculable. After 60 years, what more can possibly be said? The joy that this band has brought my ears and my heart could never be repaid. These four Liverpudlians changed the world. How does one begin to reconcile the price? All we can do is continue to spread the joyous music that John, Paul, George and Ringo crafted for us and an appreciative humanity.
They could rock when they wanted....and they said farewell with this side.
I absolutely love this! I thought I commented but I maybe forgot. (I came back to listen to Steve's incredible solo again, it never gets old! 💖)
Phil's version of Supper's Ready is *amazing* on Seconds Out.
I hear this fifty years later and it still feels like the 1st time.
After 45 years and hearing this song a thousand times Steve's solo still gives me goosebumps. I remember someone said after he left that his " Ghostly " guitar playing will be missed. The only other guitar player that puts me on another plane like Steve is probably David Gilmour. A masterpiece.
No Chester this is Bill Bruford along with Phill. No question this is there prime time. A brilliant album I’ve been listening to this since 1978. Never gets old
No, it's Chester; Bill is only on Cinema Show.
They say that music should move the soul...Just listen to this track...Please!
I was lucky enough to see them on this tour. I have also had the pleasure of seeing Steve Hackett and his amazing band perform this masterpiece as well. Epic.
