Radiator Springs Racers is a slot car dark ride attraction in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. The attraction features third-generation Test Track technology, an attraction located at Epcot in Walt Disney World. Radiator Springs Racers is themed to the fictional world from Disney·Pixar's Cars. The attraction was built at an estimated cost of over $200 million, which took up about 18% of the entire cost of the $1.1 billion expansion plan for Disney California Adventure Park at the time it opened. The attraction takes guests in a six-person vehicle through a briefing with Doc, Lighting McQueen, and other characters from the film Cars. Guests race another guest vehicle through turns and banks, ending with a randomized race result.
At the "What's Next?" presentation at Disney California Adventure on June 11, 2010, Imagineer Kathy Mangum gave a brief rundown of the storyline for the attraction.
Walking past the courthourse, the queue goes through some of the original buildings of Radiator Springs when Stanley first opened his Stanley's Oasis business at the natural Radiator Springs that provided the town's name and enter the old hotel he set up in Taillight Caverns. Guests board their ride vehicle and are taken on an idyllic drive through Ornament Valley Range. The vehicle enters the dark ride portion of the attraction as guests nearly run into several Audio-animatronic characters. As the vehicle swerves out of the way, it encounters the Sheriff who appears as if he is going to issue a speeding ticket, but instead is impressed with the driving skills and invites the car to the town's big race. Before the race can begin, though, Mater has to take the vehicle for a round of tractor tipping. Suddenly, Frank the Tractor wakes up and chases the trespassers off of his farm. On the way back into town, the vehicle is prepared for the race. At this point, the vehicle will either turn to Luigi's Casa Della Tires for a tire change or to Ramone's House of Body Art for a quick paint refresh. From there, the two vehicles sit idle to one another at the starting point. After Luigi's word, the race begins through the remaining out-door portion of the attraction reaching the ride's top speed of 40 mph (64 km/h). The race finishes after the vehicles drop a sloped bank where guests have their on-ride photo taken.

The race part is way faster than it looks, and the cars are so cool and realistic looking!

I talked with one of the people that work on this ride and the cars are real and when you take off at the race the squeal of The tire is the actual tires chirping.

The animatronics are AMAZING
They had a bit of technical difficulty but luigi said "Luigi try again ... GO! at 3:26 as the car stops so good save Disney because its like a back up so its not noticable :)

Day 52: Still gawping at the animatronics.
I waited an hour for this ride and j can honestly say this ride is my favorite by far ! It was so unexpecting ! I didn't think it would go that FAST! And the drops were big ! I didn't expect that from the looks of the video but it was such an amazing experience I can't wait to go on it again ! 😍😍
I waited 3 hours but I didn't care, I fell in love with this ride the very moment I sat down. Can't wait to go this weekend!
the very first time I went on this ride the line was 285 minutes long
+Daniel Shimel I went on it a few years ago and I might go next month I was very lucky cuz we were gonna have to wait an hour and Disney was closing and a lady gave us some fast passes to get on 😄 and now it's my all time favorite

I love how the track has a lot of branch point. It is also cool how the brake lights actually light up when the cars stop. This look like a LOT of fun.
Pretty fun ride, but you HAVE to FastPass it if you're gonna go on it.

Or go single rider. Only took me 30min in single rider while the normal line was 90min. Fast past was even longer than single.
That's odd, when I rode it we used the fast pass and it took around 15 min at the most. But we went when Disneyland isn't that busy since they were refurbishing.
I waited 2 hours the fast pass was sold out
What is FastPass and Single?
This is the last ride I rode my last visit to Disneyland. We got on it immediately after Tower of Terror and honestly, no better way to calm down than on this great ride.

I waited almost 5 hours just to ride this awesome ride! It was so amazing the cars looked super real! I was really amazed! Omg this is my favorite ride ever!!! 😭😭😭

Something weird happened at the race beginning with the car in front of you lol. For people who are scared of heights but still want a mild thrill from the race, this is a great ride! Helped me get over my fear of roller coasters and rides. I recommend it to everyone! A thing to note about POVs though, it's always much faster in person.
that is one of the best coaster views ive ever seen, dont go to england, they dont put much detail or anythin in it and the coasters last around 2 minutes, no offense but im serious!
i do and i don't agree with your comment, i agree English parks don't put much detail into theming, and the anamatronics are very old, and outdated.
we do have some amazing rollercoasters in England, the best ones are the smiler, Pepsi max big one and grand national
someday Ile save and come to Florida for some of the best rides.

I never rode this attraction. In fact, I never saw the movie. Never the less, this ride looks like it is a lot of fun. Thank you for sharing this with us. It looks like a must ride at Disneyland. :-)

This ride is state of the art ! The first part is absolutely stunning. The cars, the scenery. The race at the end is a thrill - too short though :-( I wish the wait wasn't 110+ minutes because I wanted to ride again and again. Fast passes were sold out for the day by 10:30 am!
This ride and the Indiana Jones Adventure ride in Disneyland both have a lot of things in common. They happen to be the most popular rides in their park. They have really LONG lines. And they are actually pretty short rides. The rides aren't really worth waiting unless you use the FassPass.

I was expecting this to be a lame ride, but it looks pretty cool after watching this video! I like the dark part of the ride, and the fast part at the end looks cool. Very impressed with the excessive amount of detail in the ride. Amazing! Great video!
Yes I went on this ride it’s WAY FASTER THAN IT LOOKS ON CAMERA this was one of my fav rides at this place but when I was on the ride we were just about to start the racing part but then the ride broke down it was off for a couple hrs so we went to go eat food then we went on incredicoaster and the ride was back on
It was a lame right for me 😭 it's cause I'm so used to huge roller coasters it basically ruined Disney for me because oviously the only rides they have there are little kid rides lol

I'm so jealous of people like this who get to go to so many theme parks. I love this ride btw! We went 2 Disneyland 2 weeks ago and the time before that 4 YEARS ago!! Hopefully we will get to go sooner
Best to ride this at night. The whole street leading to the ride is filled with neon, and the walkways to the ride (where you undoubtably wait for hours) have so much detail. Disney did a fantastic job on this whole area.
I like how low rider was playing as you entered ramones spray shop. An obvious easter Egg dedicated to cheechs car from the movie cheech and chong. Kudos Disney. Kudos indeed

Disney outdid themselves with Carsland its so fun, it looks like your in the movie and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and Radiator Springs Racers is one of the best rides there

Thanks for posting such an awesome, HD version of this ride! I went to CA Adventure back in August and I rode this ride as many times as I could, I love it! I think Cars Land is the best thing that ever happened to that park.

Melissa and Alex It was a slight sensor error that caused the cars to go at seperate times, this might also be because this video was recorded a few months from when Carsland opened and the staff might have accidently pressed something.
I have recently been to Disneyland and saw the same type of thing, the car came out of a random "cave" in the huge face of radiator springs racers.
It's like test track, But OLD Test track, THE GOOD ONE!

This was my favorite ride in California Adventure!
This ride became my favorite ride in California's Great Adventure, and I'm so excited to go again on it this weekend, yeah sure I waited 3 hours for the ride, but it was so freaking worth it, definitely a MUST to go on.
I went over the weekend 7 times, yesterday 2 times, and I'm going tomorrow. The trick is, GO SINGLE RIDER. It's like half the wait!!!!

Probably one of my favorite rides (Not just because it's cars) but the animatronics were beautifully made and I'm glad they incorporated one of the most over looked scenes in the movie which would be the drive which they perfectly designed the scenery

I went on this ride on the day it opened. Longest wait ever. Once we got to the first of line, the ride broke down for almost an hour. We waited 3 hours in line, then got to the front and waited another 45 mins. But it was very worth it. Wish it would have gone faster during the race, but it was a very neat ride!!
Waited for atleast an hour or 2 for this ride. It was all worth await. Rode this yesterday! 💯👌🏻💕

I LOVE THIS RIDE!! I did it at night durring the fireworks. We also actually raced neck-and-neck with another car, too.
I waited in line for 2 hours when i went and imo it was soooo worth it.

They need to invent smellovision! I can just imagine how this smells, earthy. I know that sounds weird, but Disney has a knack of getting the right smells at the right place. Disney-fanatics know what I'm talking about.
