When our Beagle was a puppy we went out in the dark, in the distance there was a roommate making a camp fire. She saw the flames and his silhouette and ran home. It took her weeks to get over it.
I'm interested in how long Bailey has been missing and also, how long the "dog man" has been around. Originally I figured Bailey went missing in early 2009, but the dates on these new notes suggest that Bailey was likely missing for some time prior to October 2008. I say prior because of the character's mom saying "it's time to move on", which told me that Bailey was not newly missing at that time. As for the "dog man", I was guessing he might have appeared in response to Bailey being missing, but I now realized this is unlikely. It appears as though the "dog man" has been in the character's life for quite some time now. In the "my new best friend" video, there's the section at the end where the little kid goes down the stairs and then, sees the "dog man". I thought that maybe that young kid wasn't our main character, thinking it might've been a previous "dog man" victim of sorts. But not only do the main character and little kid potray themselves in a similar way (the kid drew a dog face for themselves, the main character seems to put dog stickers in the same style over their face in photos), but they also live, or lived, in the same house, which is made apparent by the photos the main character has of those same white stairs. Something that especially intrigues me is, assuming the young kid and main character are the same person, why does the main character now seem so scared of the "dog man", when before they were "best friends?" What changed?
@Dum722 Though it would be interesting if the dog man had Bailey's head, this doesn't seem to be the case. Bailey and Dog Man look nothing alike, they're distinctly different breeds and Dog Man's head lacks any key features connecting it to Bailey (not the right color fur, no signature white facial markings). So although there is likely a connection between Bailey and the Dog Man, he doesn't wear Bailey's head. I'm thinking there might be a chance that Dog Man got rid of Bailey somehow out of an effort to "replace" her, since maybe Dog Man felt that his "best friend" (our protagonist) had been taken away from him by Bailey, but I couldn't say anything for sure. Edit: If I think about it, there's a chance that the Dog Man could've stolen Bailey's head afterwards, hence why we saw Dog Man with a different head in the Protagonist's early childhood, but I think we're yet to see a more recent close-up of Dog Man in the current day, so there's no way to no for sure if he's changed heads.
I’m such an idiot lol, I pause the video every time a note shows up to read it then hit play and realize you’ve actually given us enough time to do that. I’m just so used to projects like this hitting you with only a few frames to read words. It’s refreshing to be allowed time to actually digest what I’m seeing.
I really love the scraps of paper being shown in the video, the stop-motion and the way it isn’t presented with a VHS filter, so it’s like an outside force’s addition to the video. Those kinds of stylistic choices are what I feel separate horror series the most, it’s more personal and something I haven’t seen before and personally would like to see more of, and by that I mean other artsy ways of presenting the video. I know it’s weird that that’s my biggest takeaway from this video, I did enjoy the horror and the idea of character being cornered in their own home near the end, but eh, I like stop-motion and artsy stuff.
I absolutely love how the ending is framed. As far as I can tell you can’t see anything in the darkness so the protagonist doesn’t see “Bailey” but knows it isn’t them because they were afraid of the dark. It could’ve been done by having the protagonist see some messed up version of Bailey in the darkness but it’s framed instead as them knowing their dog so well that they can tell it isn’t them. It reinforces that strong bond between them while also being very chilling.
A really interesting motif in the series that's super pronounced in this one in particular is separation, especially decapitation (either literal or metaphorical). Not only does the photo have the usual puppy head, but it's also very deliberately framed to cut off the other woman's head. The video tearing also is at about the height our good friend in flannel usually is in frame when standing, as well as tearing through the painting of Bailey basically at neck level (not to mention the other out of frame head in the painting). And of course we have My New Best Friend where there's a drawing of a decapitated Bailey. It kind of ties back into Wegman too, because there's a distinct separation between the dog head and the human body in those videos and photos.
Congratulations, this legitimately put me on edge. I really appreciate that you didn’t put in any cheap jumpscares or “oooh spooky noises” besides some of the ambience at the end. It really helps build the tension and give the series as a whole a much more grounded feel. I look forward to what comes next.
I think what makes this series so scary is just how grounded and personal the threat feels. While the threat in this series isn't as huge in scale compared to the events in Greylock or Midwest Angelica (which are both great mind you), it feels more scary on an individual level. Which for me is scarier, because it almost feels like something that is more likely to occur in a realistic situation. Also, the idea that a monster of some sort is targeting one person specifically is really daunting. Especially given that the monster in this series is utilizing things in the protagonist's life that give her comfort against her. That's really fucked.
I think that the threat being personal is also disturbing in comparison to bigger ones in other ARGS because in a way, you truly ARE alone in that situation. Who's gonna believe a kid who sees a man with a dog head 'n hollow eyes?? They'd dismiss her fears as nightmares, phobia, anything really. Nobody can see the immediate danger she might be in
100% agree. The personal nature of the horror really gets to me here, and I think it's helped by how human the protagonist feels. Like, she makes photo albums and collects tapes of this weird show and makes art and really loves her dog, and I think that really makes her feel like a person. Which, in turn, I think, makes the fact that this horror is targeting her so personally feel all the more real and scary, if that makes sense.
“THAT’S NOT MY BAILEY” Hit hard! I’ve seen lots of that sort of like, “skinwalker” sort of media recently in analogue horror, usually revolving around humans, but never seen the whole “my dog is replaced with something else sinister” thing done before in video form. Very well done, I love this series.
Reminds me of that old man who thought he was being haunted by his late wife, only to later realize it was something else. I don't remember his name but he had a RUclips channel.
@darthtom100 that was a slender series. I think it was called "The Dead are Watching" and the guy basically came in contact with a lovecraftian Slender Man.
So, to summarize, my guess is that MC met Dog Man back when she was very young, and made friends with him. Then at some point she probably stopped seeing him, forgot about him/remembered him as an imaginary friend and just kept living her life. At some point she adopted Bailey, and now i guess Dog Man is back and did something to Baily so he could be MC's "best friend" again.
Scary part is the dog monster is a weimaraner. Weimarners are hunting dogs, so imagine coupling that strong hunting instinct with the size, strength, and sentience of a full-grown man.
From :54 to 1:25 as well as 3:12 to 3:47 there is backmasked audio. I reversed both segments. This is actually surprisingly relatable... I'd know my Sylvia and my Amy if I heard them, and I know they are both gone from this world because I held them as they died. Terrifying!

I haven’t seen anyone else say this, but the last drawing of Bailey at the very end that says ‘My Bailey was afraid of the dark’ is the exact same drawing that appears at 7:50 of episode one “My new best friend”, just in its unedited form. Guess that explains what the scratched out text said
This is still one of the most special series I've seen of this caliber on this platform. There is something so viscerally nightmarish about the way it's filmed, about its storytelling...everything. It really does feel like a nightmare. A horrific nightmare made even scarier by its setting: your everyday house, where things are supposed to be safe. But it's just...off. It's just unnerving. The almost VCR style really contributes to that vibe. Like, if I found these tapes in a basement, I wouldn't sleep for days.

This is one of the most interesting and confusing things I’ve seen in a while. I’ve saw a lot of horror movies in my life but something about this really unsettles me. But I find this even more interesting because I feel I’m also a fairly competent artist like yourself and have always wondered if I’m so good at making steady shapes why use my hand writing so god awful? 🤣
ok but did anyone else notice the short flashes of what looks like possibly detritus? happened around the time of the first bark, flashes twice at the top
I know that this is probably not true, but this episode makes me think that whoever the "best friend" is in this series (dog head person), must be some sort of literal dog person, or a skinwalker of some sort. Not only that, but the last big episode seems to say that they have been following the protagonist since they were a kid! This is getting intriguing...
This series is an art piece, its beautiful and terrible, but most importantly, beautiful, amazing work!! This series will not be forgotten, I can't wait to see what happens next. It puzzles me where the heck Bailey can be. Why does the monster dog not want the protag to find Bailey?? He took down the posters. He could have alterior motives, but I have a suspicion he might be benevolent in some way, I mean hes presented as creepy, but wouldn't it be a good reveal that hes actually good, and trying to stop something terrible from happening. I also wanna know why the main character is so obsessed with dogs, and is also very childlike in the way she speaks. Maybe she has a development issue, and if so why?? But shes also a very good painter lol. And could her development issue have something to do with the dog?? Those are my thoughts on dog nightmares, so interesting omg. 😊 😊 ❤️

“My Bailey is afraid of the dark” THAT’S THE SAME PIECE OF PAPER FROM “My new best friend”! Except someone scribbled out Bailey’s head, and put a freaky upside down dog head on top of it, Then scrawled out the words, and wrote: “YOU WONT BE ALONE!” I wonder if it’s the dog monster doing all this… trying to replace Bailey, and be Emily’s best friend once more.
I think the dogman is trying to use bailey as "bait" so he can get closer to the mc, so then maybe the dogman will take the mc as well? Just like bailey and (maybe) the mc's friend that went missing.
I think the dog humans was the main character's friend when they were little. She got Bailey later, lost her and has such longing and memories of Bailey. I think her old best friend is jealous.
I picked up on the drawing in 3:47, its the one from "My New Best Friend!" without the extra drawing over. It seems like maybe the Wegman dog found it and drew over it to make Bailey seem evil or unneeded. Emily was responding to the barks with the drawing, getting upset that whatever was barking like that couldn't be Bailey. It's like she knows there's something there that's lying to her. It makes me wonder how much she knows about the Wegman dog. Did she see the video of the dog in the hole at all?
I feel like this story is ab a girl who's parents constantly neglected her in life and when she got a dog she then had an obsession with thinking she is one. Then her dog was taken or killed because of how unhealthy it got (Unhealthy = Her obsession). Now she copes by watching things that remind her of Bailey. I think when she was little she saw the dog man and she hallucinated his head being Bailey's. But now that she's grown, she realised how horrifying that is. And is scared. I don't know what else :3
I really love this series! It’s in my top five. In fact, it’s Number Two, right under The Walten Files! I hope Bailey is okay, but…I feel like he isn’t. I honestly think The Dog Man is a man with BAILEY’S head.
I wasn't even aware it was possible for dogs to be afraid of the dark, considering they're able to see in it a lot better than humans can.
some dogs apparently get anxious when they are in the dark/alone. granted, yes, they can see better than we can.
Dogs can be afraid of anything and everything. I love dogs, but they are some real "scardeycats".
maybe theres something IN the dark?

ok but did anyone else notice the short flashes of what looks like possibly detritus? happened around the time of the first bark, flashes twice at the top
BABE WAKE UP NEW DOG NIGHTMARESJUST DROPPED
I am glad this series is continuing
One of the only horror video that has made me feel genuinely uncomfortable and on the edge of my seat. Very well done 👍
"What are you afraid of"
THIS SERIES HELP
That line “My Bailey is afraid of the dark” hit me like a truck. Straight chills
"THAT IS NOT MY BAILEY!!!" oh. my fucking. god. WHY DO I WATCH THIS EXPECTING TO SLEEP TONIGHT?????
these videos are making me cry more than scaring me
this is probably the first analog horror show to give me the creeps since Local58 or Gemini Home Entertainment! Fantastic stuff!
amazing series! continue it on, its so unnerving and I seen a person at 1:45 in the doorway, amazing work.

Many people find it scary… I find it cool and the song is so catchy I’m listening to this everyday
beautiful work once again :)
“My Bailey is afraid of the dark”
THAT’S THE SAME PIECE OF PAPER FROM “My new best friend”!
Except someone scribbled out Bailey’s head, and put a freaky upside down dog head on top of it,
Then scrawled out the words, and wrote: “YOU WONT BE ALONE!”
I wonder if it’s the dog monster doing all this… trying to replace Bailey, and be Emily’s best friend once more.
I think the dogman is trying to use bailey as "bait" so he can get closer to the mc, so then maybe the dogman will take the mc as well? Just like bailey and (maybe) the mc's friend that went missing.
Love this new video can't wait for more, keep up the great scares! 🐶
3:43 is the drawing we saw in my new best friend. In that video we saw it with an upside down head with the text “you won’t be alone”
maybe its some entity pretending to be his dog?
i regret knowing this series exists. good job lol
I think the dog humans was the main character's friend when they were little.
She got Bailey later, lost her and has such longing and memories of Bailey.
I think her old best friend is jealous.
Feels so... Nolgastic, But feels so.
Eerie...
Love watching this analog horror with my dogs 😂
I picked up on the drawing in 3:47, its the one from "My New Best Friend!" without the extra drawing over. It seems like maybe the Wegman dog found it and drew over it to make Bailey seem evil or unneeded. Emily was responding to the barks with the drawing, getting upset that whatever was barking like that couldn't be Bailey. It's like she knows there's something there that's lying to her. It makes me wonder how much she knows about the Wegman dog. Did she see the video of the dog in the hole at all?
this series is so cool!!!
KICKING MY FEET TWIRLING MY HAIR OGMOGMGOMGOMG THIS IS AMAZINGGG I SQUEALED WHEN I SAW THISSS
My belief in skinwalkers and the fact that I myself have a dog just makes this more terrifying for me
I love how you included the painting she did of her and her dog :D
(Or at least I think that’s her, Ik that’s the dog😀)
This is my favorite series!
Please continue this series it’s really good I’ll let expertdeath know
This series is awesome! I didn’t want to sleep tonight anyway.
Im glad i discovered this from IDKsterling
Its so good the missing poster is so ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤good❤❤❤❤❤
Very scary as always! I really liked the writing in the snow at 0:09 I assume it says “
Bailey wasnt afraid of the dark, he was afraid of what was IN the dark!
Keep up the amazing work i love analog horror so much
Probably just the cops finding out about James
best and most original analog horror out rn. better than the other repetitive shit out these days
I really love this series! It’s in my top five. In fact, it’s Number Two, right under The Walten Files! I hope Bailey is okay, but…I feel like he isn’t.
I honestly think The Dog Man is a man with BAILEY’S head.
weird ... im starting to think that these aren't normal home videos 🤨 but fr, this is so cool and creepy! keep up the great work
Awebo estubo muy padre 😎👍
