Bo Chu, Director of architecture practice Pitch AD, found a townhouse in Fitzroy after missing the hustle and bustle of city life after living in a leafy outer suburb. Although there were some challenges with the layout, Bo knew he could transform the interior through a carefully considered renovation.
Wanting to avoid any external works, Bo focused his attention on the interior design of the townhouse. The existing layout was radically modified to allow more sunlight, flow and function, and re-jigged to enable a compact ensuite added to the main bedroom. In addition, soft timber was used throughout as wall panelling and for joinery, bringing a touch of warm minimalism to the interior.

Omg. Love how warm it feels despite being paired back and minimalistic. I would totally live there. Well done.
Love the clever design and the great feeling of a calm yet warm and inviting space
It is a fantastic outcome.
The timber, white & concrete blends together cohesively. Every inch of the the home featured exudes a certain kind of calmness to it. Love it.
Very calming and welcoming 🤍
This is a stunning home! Thanks for sharing.
I love it when linear floor plan can transform to magical minimalist layout. Love also the neutral color tones used. Even in love bec biggg kitchen. This is well tot off again. 💗🇹🇭
The before and after layout is night and day! And I love the pared back material but with enough timber to add warmth and texture without being too overbearing.
@@SimpleDwelling also the timber added warmth to d home. The design was very clean n clear
Been so into terrace homes lately and this is a brilliant take!
One of my favorite episodes. Great job!
Simple and beautifully done. Congrats
Glad you like Bo's design! Thanks for watching, Mr L.
Very compact space! And nice color palette..
One of the best i've seen so far. That cow rug though... 😂
Cute dog!!
I really enjoyed this! thanks for featuring it! I ended up looking up more of their work. =) thanks again!
They have so many beautiful homes and designs, wish I could film them all!
love it
I love it!
Very nice. Love your staffy 🐾
She (Betty) was a great companion for the shoot!
So much more potential to develop to that garden.. hard to fault the interior though- pretty much nailed that.
Great job!
Thanks for watching, Kiran!
A nice house 🙂❤
Looking great! really interesting compromises that were made on the bathrooms though I can't imagine the amount of replumbing and what the pipework looks like that must have been expensive if they went in phases like they implied. I hope it was all at once.
I quite like the compact ensuite, no wasted space but it has enough space.
@@SimpleDwelling i like it too!
I’m always so in awe of his design style. It’s everything I ever wanted in a home. I wonder if it’s possible to hire him from the US 😅
Best you can do is email and ask! You never know haha. Keep me updated!
Beautiful execution, wondering who did your timber veneer wall panelling?
Very rich minimalist.😄
I wouldn’t mind living in it. Wish I can afford a townhome in Fitzroy 😅
i like it
Lovely home. May I ask what's the tree in the backyard.
LOVE. When can I move in?
Very beautiful interior! I want to use some details in the project in planner 5d
Which details specifically do you love?
how much would a gut reno like this typically cost?
Why do you need two dyson vacuums?😂
Is this guy on a local project too?
Nope, Bo’s only been on my channel so far
Honestly, it was a bit dull. Not the house, per se, but this representation. You showed the living space over 10 times, but no different angles of courtyard or the view from bedrooms next to the courtyard / the carport etc. - something that would be truly interesting, since not a lot of houses have a courtyard in the middle of them.
I’m sorry I missed the mark on this video.
Not a fan of black door pulls, lights etc.
This isn't minimalism. It's Scandinavian design.
