We do the same !!! For more than 10-15 years now. It was mainly because kids refused to go to same places every year. We agreed it was stupid to do that. Now we all look forward to that break. All are relaxed n eat what they want n chat n talk aaram se without neighbours n others relatives dropping in whole day without even informing or calling for tea to their places. That was really boring n stressful earlier.

Parents dont let their son do improvements in the house. I told them lets change out toilet to western. They said no we don’t need. After few months they did it themselves but they did of 1/10th quality. This is just an example. They want me to come to visit, but they dont let me do anything in the house even if its for my comfort
