- Did you know that you can make sublimation socks? I finally found a brand of socks that you can sublimate and are comfortable as well! Silky Socks feel amazing and sublimate great as well! I have everything from no show socks to ankle socks to crew socks to sublimate with my printer. And yes you can sublimate socks even if you have a smaller printer! Thank you Angie for the very good detailed video. I've been sublimating "Silky Socks" for about a year, and they sublimate beautifully. In addition to their socks my second love for their blanks are the 95% polyester shirts. You can't go wrong using their blanks.

Thanks for using Canva since not everyone has DS.
If you use a metal jig inside the sock, use easytack or tape to hold firmly the paper onto the sock for a full wrap just as would a tumbler (no need to cut in half and piece the design then) and then wrap your papered sock in jig with aluminum foil (tight), it will help distribute the heat to prevent those seams and no need to roll the sock onto the jig before pressing the second side. With heavy pressure in your press the foil will do the work !
With this brand, they don't recommend the metal jigs.

I've used cutout cardboard for baby socks..not sure if that's ok, but it worked for me, and its free lol
It definitely will work. The inserts I am using are just made to hold up for production purposes.
Question - when it comes to matching seams, would it not be better to lay the sock slightly askew when sublimating the one side and then roll them the other way? That way you're not bunching them up when it comes to printing the next side.
You can definitely play with different methods.

I would just buy a polyester sock then. The point of the cotton part is feel.

Question, I haven’t used my “converted” sublimation printer for awhile. Is there a way I can clean the ink out and put fresh ink in?
You can drain and flush it.

Hi, for the no show socks what measurements did you use? In canvas I put 9.5 inches tall by 4 inches wide and I filled up the whole size of the paper. I’m doing something wrong
I used around that size I think. I measured the sock since they may vary. Maybe make sure your paper size is correct. a 9.5 x 4 inch print should not fill up an 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper.
I just made some socks with faces on them. I used the inserts so they were stretched but they were still very blurry and distorted when I put them on. Do you know what I’m doing wrong. Are there some settings I should be changing. Thank you.
Hmmmm....did they shrink up when you took them off the form? They should look "skinny" when not on?
I read somewhere that anything sublimated should not be put in the dryer. When you did the tests on the t-shirts did you dry them after washing?
I dry all of mine? Not sure why you wouldn't?
What temperature in for how long do you press these at?
Try 385 for 55 seconds.

Hi, I want to sublimate children socks with contrasting heel and toe colors? I’ve searched but have not seen one person do it. Is it possible?
It is possible. It will just be difficult to not get a visible link where the socks fold. I would look for socks that have an insert in them.
I have a question.. you went kind of fast clicking around for my brain so I had to keep replaying to see what you did. How did you take the face image and put it on the canvas part that you then duplicated? Not sure if you right clicked or what but after you said zoom out and add it and duplicate I was like… completely lost lol. Now my head hurts so I’ll try again tomorrow but I’m very new to Canva but I did just buy the subscription thinking maybe that’s why I’m confused but it’s the same. Help me Help me lol
Upload the image. Remove the background. Then just copy and paste to duplicate.

i did my first sublimation on socks and it looks more green on it do you know why that would happen?
Usually a green black indicates that you need more time or temperature.
