I stumbled across a video of yours a couple days ago and I must say, you explain and speak at a peace where I don't need to rewind wondering what he said. Unlike other videos where the host speaks so fast and with a voice that pierces your ear drums. Thanks for all the tutorials and tips.
Great video! I just bought dollar tree socks to TRY to sublimate on for the first time yesterday. I noticed how thin they were & that they already had a lot of threads coming out. Now that I've seen your video, I'm going to order from silky socks & try them out. :) I to had to buy a sock jig file just to put inside the socks & of course it wasn't the perfect size so once I put the socks on, they stretched & well you know how that looks with the design 😅 so glad silky socks comes with the insert & I can't wait to get some & try them out! Going to check out your designs to. Thanks again!
This was really helpful, just purchased a whole bunch. They have ones with the little non-slip doo-dads on the bottom that I'm excited to try out too! Thank you!
For events… design design design! Some of the quick sales for me has been 1 color tee shirts on colored poly shits, ear rings, coozies. I’m now expanding to socks and air fresheners! Great video Roy as always!
Design, design, design!!! Ain’t that the truth! I’ve got a great short upcoming video about a cheap item you can make that’s not sublimation, but hilarious…IF you have a sense of humor, and I know you do! As always, thanks for watching!
Came for the instructions, stayed for the bloopers! Another awesome video, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. You've helped me tons!
Hi Roy, I love your videos :) Did you ever find if you made a video of your paper roller or not? I would love to have my husband make me one? Thank you - Beckey
I just caught your video today and purchased the camo pattern digital...obviously the video was fantastic and your bloopers are a hoot 😂thank you for sharing your knowledge, your artistic talent and product vendors. This is something I think I can do. Just got a good deal on a new Epson ET 5170 now researching sublimation ink. Seams everyone has their favorite...just gotta decide.🤔🤪
Just pressed my first pair of Silky Socks. They are amazing. I really like your suggestion to trim around the design because they lined up perfectly! I did camo blue and put my karaoke business name up in the "toe". Can't wait to make more of these. Ordered some XL for my hubby, so I'll just have to figure out how much larger to make the design, as you only had S, M, L designs. I'm guessing I just need to "stretch" the height slightly. Thanks again for the great video!
That’s fantastic! Yes, Silky Socks rocks! You can absolutely stretch the design. I don’t think you’ll need to stretch much. Be careful that it’s not too wide. You may need to stretch mostly vertically! Thanks so much for watching!
A very informative and enjoyable video. I’m going to have to try the socks. I was already debating on whether or not to do that. Thank you for sharing. Loved the blooper reel lololol ❤
There are a lot of shoes out nowadays that have similar markings. I actually used a couple of other brands as ideas when I designed them. But always go with what you think is most comfortable with you ! Thanks for watching!
Hey I love your videos and I’ve learned so much. I’m really interested on knowing how you built the butcher paper dispenser. I get the idea of it, but I wanted to know what bracket you used to hold the paper roll and also where you got the paper roll. You said you think you did a video on it, but I can’t find it. I love it and I would love to make one myself. Thanks for everything.
Hey, Beth, I think I did do a video, but I never posted it, so you’re not missing anything! Let me see if I can find the footage and create a video for RUclips. I get the paper roll from Amazon. amzn.to/44Odh3K
The paper roll holder looks like a galvanized flange and black iron pipe with a end cap on the end of it. .You can get them from Lowes. I am curious how the blade is attached.
The masked men look like John Stamos and the lead singer from the Beach Boys (can't think of his name). Love the Silky and thank you for the explanation. Well worth the money. Thank you for this Tutorial too.
Hey Roy long time no hear from and the socks look great! Silky Socks has some GREAT items. I agree the other brand socks are better suited for testing purposes. Or, perhaps for a one time event then discard unless the quality is better than usual. Tracey
Good Morning! I just came across your video. GREAT by the way. But, I cannot seem to find the link to Silky Socks. I searched and various sellers come up and I do not know which is the authentic vendor. Can you please re-share the link? Thank you in advance.
Can you let us know what size and where you purchase your bags that you put them in? Thank you - love all of your videos and especially the "bloopers" - too funny!!
Hey! My very strong suggestion is to get your socks from Silky Socks! A huge advantage is, they come with the inserts and the plastic bag! Plus they’re great quality! For the bags I purchased to try it myself, I got them on Amazon. If you must go that route, just measure the width and length of the socks you have and search for that size on Amazon. Thanks for watching!
Hey! The widest part of the sock file is approximately 3-1/4” at the top portion, and the height of the small is 8.45”, the height of the medium is 9.89”, and the height of the large is 10.63”. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much! I’m not familiar with Sawgrass software, but if you print it at 100%, it works! Just check that your software will allow you to print at 100%. Thanks for watching!
Hey, Renee! These are the bags I used when I was trying to find cheaper socks. amzn.to/43bSd6Y But I would highly recommend getting the socks from Silky Socks, as they come with the plastic bags you see in the video! silkysocks.com?aff=31 Thanks for watching!
Hey, Kraig, great question! The Silky Socks website says Medium is a men’s 6 - 9 or a woman’s 7 - 10, and a Large is a men’s 10 - 13 or a woman;s 11 - 14. And based on my wearing experience, that’s right. I’m a size 11 and I wear larges. Silky Socks has a more detailed chart, so be sure to check that out! Thanks for watching!
I haven’t yet, but the idea is great! I just love getting the Silky Socks with the jig built in. I did buy some cardboard jigs from them for longer socks and I’ve had good success, but metal would surely last longer! Thanks!
Hey, Dell! I design/resize all images in Photoshop Elements, save as a png, print from Preview, and have “EPSON Color Controls” selected under “Color Matching.” Under “Print Settings” I use “Premium Presentation Paper Matte” and have the print quality set to “Normal.” And finally, under “Color Options,” I have “Manual Settings” checked. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
A men’s size 13 would probably work with a L or XL size. I did just check, and if you go with a dozen to drop the price to $2.50, you can mix and match the sizes! (I wish I would have thought about mentioning that in the video!) Thanks for watching!
Thanks! They actually don’t do the 50% off sales anymore. They used to when they had wholesale accounts. Since they’ve restructured their pricing, they do occasionally have sales but those sales are now 6% off. But hey, every little bit counts, right?! Thanks for watching!
@@industrialfringe953 Dang Guess I order so much during those sales - I haven't had to order anything the last two years. I have been sublimating trucker hats - so much fun and just as easy as socks.
Hey, Patty! You need to order 5 dozen to get to 150. I order in groups of 12 dozen. So I’ll often get one dozen smalls, three dozen mediums, and one dozen large. If I’m low on one particular size, I’ll just adjust a dozen here or there. I hope that answers your question! Thanks for watching!
Hey! I sell my designs on this website, www.georgiamaes.com/digital-designs.html but in the coming weeks, I’ll be moving all designs to my new website, industrialfringedesigns.com. Thanks for watching!

I use 8-1/2” x 11” paper and print my designs at 100% for them to fit perfectly on Silky Socks. I should have mentioned that in the video! Thanks for asking, and thanks for watching!
I’m not really “so concerned,” as long as I’m careful about removing the paper. But using taping is a great idea. Also using a tacky spray, which is probably the route I’d go if I wanted to keep it from moving and didn’t think I could control it! Thanks for watching!
I guess you could ask them to ship through someone else. I’ve found that, like it or not, most places have a go-to shipper, and it’s often more expensive to have a company use another service. In the case of Silky Socks, it doesn’t matter to me, as I get enough product to qualify for free shipping. And if I were ordering for the first time with a smaller order to see how I like them, I’d be okay with the shipping price…since it would only be a one-time deal! Thanks for watching!
