    I started getting things set up to do sublimation about 6 months ago. I’m not sure why but it makes me nervous just thinking about it! I dove right in with my Cricut years ago without hesitation but this new stuff is stressing me out. Thanks for your videos ! I am learning so much!!😊

    A lot of what you say I have been shouting in the wilderness about. I know in terms of age the sublimation is the young kid on the block, Conde and Strick Strickland published in the form of RUclips information that started when this became affordable to small business/hobbyists. Unlike your presentation they do not change their format and it was so refreshing to see your common sense approach to the unecessary hacks which are profitable for suppliers but are not required for the journey. Thank you for input and now I am a follower.

    I’ve been seeing this DTF over white vinyl a lot recently on Facebook groups and wondered why no one was using printable vinyl. I thought maybe printable vinyl was out of vogue. Glad to hear I’m still good using printable vinyl. That hack seemed too time consuming and too expensive. Printable vinyl is just too easy.

      I have 3 packs of printable vinyl & haven't used it yet because all the tutorials say that it doesn't last (Problems like fading after washing, permanent wrinkles in design, shrinking, peeling, lifting) I've been using DFT Film & DTF Powder. But I am just going to try the printable vinyl to see how it holds.

    For the DTF hack, on a white shirt, doesn't it look better and feel softer? It is easier to work with more complex designs because you don't have to cut around them, right? I have never used printable vinyl but that is what my thoughts were. Am I wrong? Only for using on white shirts for me.

    Good suggestions - and thank you, you answered some questions this newbie had. However, I don't want to buy another piece of equipment so will continue to use the mugpress for the tumblers. Also, I no longer have an inkjet printer (went to a color laser several years ago), so am wondering how that might work on the 'solutions' you mentioned. I did convert my ET 2800 to sublimation ink, so at least I can use that.

    I have a SG500 & SG1000. Both have EasiSubli Ink. I’m just now experimenting with using the EasySubli Vinyl then learning to use the print and cut on the Cricut Maker. Is this the same method you referred to in just using the Vinyl? Thanks👍

    I think that one would want to avoid using Design Space for your Sublimation images is that the limitations on the sizes that print then cut has.

  • @galeem713

    You forgot to add that if you use sublimation ink in an inkjet printer, you void the warranty. Epson makes the surecolor F-710 for $500 or so and it is a true sublimation printer

    • @RenataBka

    • @donnellmurray3575

      Epson knows ppl are converting the printers, so they just design a printer and call it a sublimation printer at a higher price.

    • @justalanjones
      @justalanjones Год назад +2

      You can use an Epson ET printer and Epson sublimation ink without the extra cost of a dedicated sublimation printer. Setting up printer profiles for sublimation is pretty easy to do. There are RUclips videos for that too.

    • @Tom-sn8cm
      @Tom-sn8cm Год назад

      I know they will also fade over time depending on the exposure to the UV and heat. I am trying out a UV spray to combat the UV in the UK I do not have to worry about the heat. Krylon UV Resistant Spray, also Subli Glaze Spray. They are expensive here and I do not know if the benefits are worth the cost.

    Who's doing the dtf hack with vinyl? It's just using the powder on the sublimation paper and then pressing it onto the shirt.

  • @sandyinsc5024

    I have reheated and pealed off glitter that I put on a tumbler that didn’t stick well. I started with using Mod Podge, painting it on, shaking the glitter on,(fine glitter) then sealing with mixed resin and tumbling. Then added a vinyl sticker and more resin. The whole thing didn’t stick down and caused a mess. Then the dried uneven mess was heated and pealed off the tumbler. Time to listen to you and try again.

    With all the sublimation blanks out there that there should not be any “Hacks” for sublimation. I for one, got caught up in it when learning but I had no idea there were actual sublimation products. Now I’m more informed and soon learned with everything you have to buy for all the “hack” supplies, I could have just went and ordered the blanks.

    I agree with you on all of these. Especially the air fryer. It's big and bulky and expensive. Plus, as you said, your space is very limited.
