Thank you Andy for awesome content!
Got me with that sponsor thing for a second, well done.
Thank you so much for putting all this knowledge out there. I strongly agree that this is the way it should be.
Great video! I'm ready for that complex and cluster training video!
Thank you so much for the information!
Dr. Andy, you are one of the most generous people I met on RUclips. Thank you for sharing your quality, educating contents. Cheers!
Loving these videos man!
Great video, thanks doc !
Thank you Andy. Looking forward to your Cluster-Set video. Including an evaluation of OTM work (on the minute) would also be great!
Quality video! Super helpful for any type of athlete
Great information, I would like to know more about cycling related training. Thanks!
Love it thanks!
great video Andy. Love your content. Just listened to your podcast episode w/ Peter attia, thanks
Thanks for the shout-out at the beginning lol
You got me with the sponsorship joke! 😆
Awesome!!
#SQUAD’s here 👊
Thank you Doctor! 💪
Just started a powerbuilding phase today 💪
Good Video 💯
Hey Andy, great work! Any specific recommendations in terms of literature for determining your own force velocity curve?
Is it just me or is the graphs a tad off? Andy is talking about 30% of 1RM is what the litterature says is best for producing power, but the x-axis is reffering to velocity, not force which is what 1 RM is equal too (100% of 1 RM). I may have gotten this wrong, but in my head the 'force' and 'velocity' on the graph should change places or just change the percentiles to be reffering to the y-axis instead of the x-axis, no? Anyway, thank you again AG for these amazing videos!
My intuition says the power chart should be its own, third axis. Power is a function of force and velocity. My experience is from cycling, and for me max power comes at a certain rpm, roughly 120. Not sure how to transpose this into weight training, but my guess is that what feels natural in terms of speed, is probably the right amount for maximizing power at a given weight for a given exercise.
damn nice explanation 😲, whos that one guy that unliked this video wtf😂
Hi Dr. who would you recommend as experts for us to learn from for relative power training (I know we also need LTAD)
Great Video! 5:23 - Shouldn't the power curve move in a vertical direction to represent increases in power towards 40/50/60% of 1RM? The power curve was shifted horizontally to the right represent peak power at greater velocities. No change in max load (aka Force on the y axis) for peak power. Let me know what you think, thanks!
I'll clarify by asking, does the power curve only shift on the x axis?
Ive been waiting for this vid
andy i think a vedio on improving muscle contraction velocity would be great as i think Research is not that great in that domain
Would doing your warm up sets fast and explosive be a good mix?
so if i had to guess power for pull ups whould be more like at 50-60% right?
First a word from our sponsors
Ohhh wait thats right
Lmaoo
12:45 what if you do your power training for 1h and then your hypertrophy training?
Dr. Galpin is this 20 sets total for the day or per lift?
Wondering this too!
What are some realistic combinations exercises to. Increase,, kettlebells.. Or barbell which is better.. Please help..
Snatch Highpulls. Also Heavy KB swings followed by long jumps.
@@dan1mal678 Thanks.. Bro i appreciated it
What are methods? Little bit explain sir.
How can i build power through bodywight exercise only? And does Calisthenic increase power?
Do lots of jumping
The curves are supposed to shift on the y axis not the x axis ahah
You are science
Hold on, 30-75% of what 1rm?
30% of my 1rm of power cleans to do power cleans? Or 30% of my deadlift for powercleans?
Shots at crossfit lol. Great video as always though
That explains why i saw a 120 lbs teenage girl that was not very large squatting 185.
12:03
Who the hell thumbed this down?
ur mum
I just want to be small but powerful lol
