This song started playing at a social function (Cocktail attire! Mind you) in Southern Louisiana and I have never heard so many women screaming at the top of their lungs in unison at the same time, including myself. I’m still in awe that one of our friends looked at us like we were crazy, asking how we all knew it, meanwhile her mother, her father, myself, my sister (her best friend), and my mother were all belting at the top of our lungs alongside every other woman in the room.
Always loved this song! Side note, while attending a hs function for 1 of our daughters another mom informed me that her daughter thought that I was Gretchen Wilson! I took it as a huge compliment ☺
Not sure if anyone has suggested Maybe It Was Memphis by Pam Tillis. Her father was the late Mel Tills. Maybe It Was Memphis is country, but it has a sort of sultry/blues vibe as well. Another Gretchen song is Homewrecker.
Love Mel Tillis, It's worth saying Mel Tillis can not speak without a stutter but OMG that man could sing. Redneck woman is my least favorite Gretchen song probably because it was so overplayed.
I love the line about leaving the Christmas lights up all year long. The reason we started doing that was because June bugs don’t come to colored lights! 😂😂😂
You should check out The Judds - Grandpa or Love Can Build A Bridge , they are a mother daughter duo that had tons of great songs , those two are my favorite
Redneck is a lifestyle!! Not the area you live in! It's about living your life to the fullest, freest and having fun, snd honoring your family and God! And not giving a damn what somebody thinks!!
Back in the seventies, it was a pejorative. Akin to "dirtbag." Sometimes in the 90s people decided to own it. Now it means something different. - Keith
This was a great reaction guys I'm glad you enjoyed the song because it kicks. I just recently got reminded of the spectacular song and considering Keith that you're the year you'd love it it's by LeAnn Rimes she recorded it and had a number one hit with it at the age of 13 it's called Blue.

Sauternes are a sweet French wine from the Graves region in Bordeaux , they use three varietals, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Mucadelle. The grapes are infected with Botrytis Cinerea, know as noble rot. It causes the grapes to reduce water and concentrate like a raisin.
@@BourbonCountryReacts Yea, its strange, I am not a fan of Sauternes. By wine standards, its a hit and miss production style. Don't always work, lmao. The connection to the barrels is the interesting thing. Wine to Bourbons , Bourbons to Tequila, Casa Herradura, for example, one of Mexico's oldest tequila distillers, uses post production barrels from "Jack Daniels" in Lynchburg TN to age their "Reposado and Anejo" blends. Always about the "Wood"

Gretchen's song about wanting to make her hometown proud of her called 'Pocahontus Proud' is my personal favorite of her work. As for Tanya Tucker my favorite is 'The Jamestown Ferry' which showcases her vocals perfectly.
Gretchen Wilson covered Barracuda with Heart and Alice In Chains live at an MTV Rock Honors show in 2007. It's EPIC-ly badass. Highly recommend..although it is a cover.
Gretchen has lots of fun songs. And Tanya Tucker is a country legend too. 'Delta dawn', 'Two sparrows in a hurricane', 'Love me like you used to', 'Strong enough to bend' or 'Down to my last teardrop' are all great tunes by Tanya. Take your pick.
I love her! I’ve been lucky enough to to see her three times live with different artists! The last one was with Big & Rich and I live near Seattle so Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart showed up and sang with her (many years ago)! I agree with everyone else, she has an awesome voice live! This was from her very first album! Cameos: Tanya Tucker, Kid Rock and Hank Williams, Jr. (Bocephus)
Hi Fellas, just come across your new reaction channel, and after only seeing you doing this one reaction I'll definitely be checking out some of your others. I'ma Classic Rock, and Motown music listener, but then 1990 rolled around and these new batch of country music artist came on the scene and I was pretty much instant HOOKED!!! LOL 😆. From 1990-1995 "here I was a diehard classic rock listener" then outta no where there's this new sounding country music and I actually had to admit to myself that I loved it ☺️. OMG 😮, I can honestly say that this man captured my heart!! Until this very day, I've heard no one better!!! So I was hoping that I could request one of his many songs: "THIRD ROCK FROM THE SUN!!". Of course, this wouldn't have been my first song choice, but it happens to be one of his best commercial songs so I'm going with this one. If I had my choice of one of his songs my number one pick would have been, (Somewhere under the Rainbow 🌈..)
