  • We purchased a Geyser shower system about a year ago. Here are our thoughts on it. This is a very unique setup that provides an efficient way to take a shower. It doesn't take up a lot of space and it makes it easy to maximize your water usage and minimize waste. Both of the factors are very important to us especially having 6 kids along for the ride.

Good review! I like the ponts that you made. I have had my geyser for a little over 2 years, and I have had to replace some parts, but overall, I am more than satisfied to the point that I own a am EcoShower for my home. I think the heater is a bit much as there are other ways to get hot water, and I want to try it in my truck shell, so Im glad you talked about using it in the cold. That is a good point about the parts, so I keep my sponges and the cords in separate plastic gallon bags inside the container to prevent mold and also rust on the 12v end. I had that experience too.

Great review! Especially helpful regarding the wife using the unit! You explained the situation perfectly hahaha! Yes, must keep the wife happy! Best of luck always to you and your family in your travels.

Im struggling to find a good shower solution too, currently using a 15 gallon spot sprayer and instant hot water heater :). Works so far, just alotta water waste, so figuring that out :)

So looking on there website, they have a shower head conversion kit, so im thinkin of tryin that out. 15 gallons, on a instant water heater with the sponge would prolly work better them a showerhead :)

Yes the sponge idea definitely helps cut down on water loss vs a traditional shower head. I like where you're going with this!

I like this thing, but buying the heated one isn’t worth it. I’ve had 2 and the heaters broke on both in less than 6 months and when they did work it took 45 minutes to heat up

I would agree, there really no point to the heater. most people don’t have that much electricity to burn and they also don’t want to leave their vehicle idling for the length of time to heat it.

@@trove1312 Yeah it's impractical even when it works, it'd be nice if they came out with an upgraded model with 2 gallons of water tank so 2 people could take showers without having to heat water twice, or even better, a gas integrated heater

I can imagine is a safety thing so they aren't sued if someone was burned , kinda like McDonald's coffee

Probably, but it does make me less likely to buy one again

Doing the math on the HEATED unit specs listed on the official website yields a power draw of less than 120 watts. The minimum rating of a standard 12v vehicle outlet (cigarette outlet) is typically rated from 120 watts to 240 watts. It appears that Geyser anticipated the low range and this unit should theoretically work with any vehicle 12v outlet without overloading the system. I wouldn't anticipate you having issues with your vehicle running the heater.

Yes it will but I don't want to run my vehicle just while I'm heating up my water. I would rather use propane for heat and not use my battery up or have to idle my vehicle. It's just a personal preference for me but it would certainly work
