Hi, I've found you can use a small torx driver if you have a problem Allen bolt as it hasn't been completely rounded off, sometimes you'll need to tap the torx bit in with a small hammer. Steve.
I just put a HG kit together. Think I'm gonna order the bearing kit from Fast Eddy's and replace all. I noticed they weren't the best. I've ran mine about 6 times now on a 2s 4000mah lipo. Gonna put together a second truck soon so those will get changed completely. Great video.
Hi I noticed your using the flysky gt3b. I also have that unit. How have you managed to get it to run the gear change. I can't seem to make any sence of it?
I don't think the stock GT3's can do it. I'm running the alternitive firmware found here: github.com/semerad/gt3b There a few videos on this channel on modifing a GT3B, the method is a little out of date though.
Great info on this truck. I bet those bearing are real cheap. I bought a kit clone and have it sitting on the shelf. I still run all my Tamiya trucks. I'm gonna build a new Mountain Rider before I do the Clone. I'll do a full new bearing kit before I put it together.
The Actros is waiting for a proper prototype board to run the electronics, and with any luck there should be some good video of it and the Grand Hauler out and about.
That's ridiculous. Those parts lasted forever on my original bruiser in the 80s. They must use cheaper bearings and cast parts on these. Tamiya is quality. Buying these cheaper trucks , you'll probably still end up paying the higher price of the Tamiya when you get all the cheap parts replaced 😢. Sad. I wanted to buy a couple of those for kids.
That is a great looking truck, superb! Did you see that HengGuan now has a new RC truck, the HG-P417 "Middle East 4x4 Pickup". This latest product is a clone of the popular Tamiya Toyota Hilux High Lift with 3-speed transmission. I just bought one to see how it compares with the original Tamiya High Lift that I own. First impressions about the quality are good. To see the new truck being unboxed and examined in close-up, visit my channel, BlackSeaRC.
I can imagine like the P407 once the bearings are swapped for some nicer ones the P417 would be a solid rig. I have an original Tamiya F350 Hi-Lift so don't plan to get a clone, one of those chassis is enough. Nice one on the video too, would love to see it with a voice over rather than the music though ;)
The bearings seem to be a common problem on the P407 so we'll see if they are also a weak point on the P417 as well or whether they have improved them on this new model. I normally fit good quality metal bearings on all my kit builds but it is a messy job on a RTR assembled model! Thanks for your comments on my video, I greatly appreciate all advice and will take it into consideration for my future videos.

Input shaft gear is called the pinion gear and the one it meshes with is called the ring gear.
Great info, thanks! Is it possible to flip the u joints to avoid the bolts from hanging

The bearings are definitely the weak point, as they are with most Chinese models unfortunatly
what tires are these? Looks great on this truck.
Right now if you search on eBay for "Austar 2.2 125mm" they come up
@@RCMojoTV Thanks
What happened to the Actros

What can you do a tamiya kit
I'm saving some pocket money for a new kit at some point, I've got my eye on a Tamiya…
Thank you
Where are you going to order a bearing kit from?
RCBearings.co.uk, if you search for Bruiser they list the HG, which will make things nice and simple

Oh sorry I just remembered the video about it
