ABSOULTELY AMAZING VIDEO. "Your front foot slides up the board b/c the board presses against your front foot, NOT b/c the front foot presses against the board" So true, so simple, so meaningful. THe amount of detail you've included is fantastic!
you are a gem! nobody else explains this is such technical detail, many people just talk about physical things you do rather than the proper reason behind it. i find this very interesting and useful!
Lets be grateful we live in a universe with laws of motion that make skateboarding possible, and amazing scientists willing to break them down and explain them to us
Finally someone else saying “sliding” is a byproduct of the board coming up, not sliding intentionally I think it may have been missed, but the back foot also needs to come up to allow the tail to rise. The higher your back foot, the higher the ollie It’s funny how such a simple trick has so much going on with pop/ foot timing and weight distribution. It’s a steep learning curve for a beginner
You know Sushi(Japanese cuisine), right? It should be the simplest thing ever: rolled rice fish on top. But they say it’s the hardest thing to cook. I believe Ollies are just like that. They are hard because they are simple.
Skate IQ are saying the exact same thing. Michi Brusco. People argued. Welcome to the internet where people who can’t kick flip argue with a guy who can 1260.
can't wait to practice. your previous tutor has helped me immensely; I was keeping my ass far back during jump before and now it's just a rocket ollie; determined to overcome this now btw, tutor on leaping onto/over obstacles may also be really good thank you a lot
This is one of the most important yet widely neglected thing that beginners should be aware of. Thanks for making this video with good explanations, I'd also mention that it is important to bend legs in the air to increase the hang time and land tricks with legs bent.
Incredible content and taught me well!! Im an engineer and love applying physics and other sciences to help me better understand. Genuinely best physics in skateboarding content Ive seen so far, please keep it up! :)
Simply incredible content, perfectly explained for a beginner, I talk about Brazil, watch the videos with subtitles and still manage to absorb all the content
The way I had to think about it to finally get perfect ollies, you're not "jumping the board", you're jumping and then kicking the board so that it follows you. Basically, you jump first, then make the board follow you a split second later.
It’s great that you are providing an analytical perspective of tricks, but I must say that floating the ollie is not really down to what the front foot does. It’s down to how much downward pressure you generate before you lift the front foot. If you look at your ollies, you can see that your leg extension before you start raising your front foot is rather loose and slow, and it actually fizzles out towards the end. This is why your ollies don’t look very floaty in real time, while it does in slow motion. You are effectively pulling the board up high, but not pushing the body up high. 2~3 decks may be fine to Ollie with this technique, but anything higher gets tough fast.
Big fan of this channel, I always understand tricks way better knowing the "ergonomics" rather than most tutorials that generally just state what to do. That said, I was disappointed that this video missed the facts surrounding the pop foot and the pop or spring of the board itself, this video made it sound like dragging your foot was the only thing needed to get high Ollies and level them out. The stomping section almost went there but fell short... For instance beginners might want to realize that the back foot is well on its way up into the catch position before the tail ever hits the ground... and that if your pop timing of getting off the tail is right, it almost doubles your tails upward momentum versus simply forcing the board to level out after the nose is up against your front foot... Good video as always but this fact was missed.
Great video, but i'm think what you miss one important thing. Rotating motion of the front ankle is quickly transfer much energy to nose, and it lift the tail very fast. Kick by whole leg is to slow for exelent Ollie.
My overall problem with tricks after just getting back into skating after 15yrs. Is floating my arms, I keep quick movements an kills my moment.. ah well got to keep at
I have really good ollies, but cant bone them out because i dont lift my back foot high enough 😭 i have been struggeling with this issue for half a year now, and i have gotten some attempts where i did bone my ollies and they were floaty and stuff, but i dont know how to replicate it
if you could send me a video, I might be able to help you. anyway, I made a video about the issue you mentioned. please refer to this: ruclips.net/video/mVOP2_K8VDo/видео.html

Like to learn ollie tech

Bend legs is an another step to improove it. When you do it you jump higher and its become more scary to you brain
Very well analyzed and explained in my opinion. Big up from Germany 🇩🇪🔥
You’re the greatest skateboard tutorial youtube seriously thx for all these amazing explanations

your videos are incredible helpful and unique, thank you so much!
Awesome, helping me continue to unlock tricks mate. Lovely stuff
Love the video, you are insane bro mad respect 🤘

6:29 that trick was sick!!

Great point. Thank you for the insight!
THANK YOU
Once you have the right technique it's all about fine tuning the timing
The ? Is what is the right technic
Nice ollie 🤩
Skateiq vs whythetrick
Ollie video same day same hour
Thanks so much, very helpful!! :)
Glad it helped!
Aaron kyro misled everyone
Who saw that one coming lmao
Fr don't watch his tutorials, it can lead to bad habits
He suck
He’ll mark you as a suppressive person. Careful.
Thank you
This was amazing, my ollie is similar to when u popped with your ankle, i need to get my popping timmings better
btw, can u do more kickflip / 360 flip videos? I cant seem to master those
will try!
Another great video
I love you Mr. Trick

Kick by whole leg is to slow for exelent Ollie.
So this is how i prevent getting spaded by the board. I've nearly got gashed from kicking the tail but lifting the leg too high.
thx bro
no, thank you for the comment
can you make bs 360 tutorial?🙏

Is it possible for you to do one on backside flips? (backside 180 kickflip)
sure, will try.
Can u do one on how to land it?
Are you having trouble keeping you have board under you?
You have been watching Mitche Brusco
this channel does for skateboarding what Arnold done for lifting
Can you do airs
sure, will try.
Do you open your front knee outwards or not?
When pushing it down, I slightly do.
I’ve been told I have a nice ollie

I know, right? Didn't expect to land that.
My ollies keep turning frontside. I just can't get it to stay straight
Keep your shoulders parallel to where you're trying to go
if you could send me a video, I might be able to help you.

Nah, thumbnail actually shows you don’t understand. You push the board after you pop lol.
True.
Weird vibe to troll on physics content... Like... it's physics man... idk
