By far the easiest way to break down a full sheet is to simply fold, reverse fold, and tear. Just fold in half, and repeat.. you get all the standard sheet sizes from imperial (full sheet) on down. No measuring or cutting needed. It's scary the first time but very easy.
I just started in wc a few months ago. I started with cheap paper then got a block of this it's so beautiful to work with. I just received this bulk paper setup a few days ago it's so much easier to work with. I found your videos on value study and just let your videos play thank you for such in depth explanations. I've only ever had one art class so I'm so grateful for your guidance. It's invaluable to me to watch someone who is so knowledgeable. Thanks again ❤
I’ve been using the Academy grade Baohang cold pressed on a block for a couple of months and like it a lot, particularly the cost. After watching your review of the sample, pack I ordered the Artist grade, still a bargain, although it will have to be really exceptional to surpass the Academy grade.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I purchased the Artist grade sheets, assuming it had to be better than the Academy (i.e. student) grade. But I've had several people say they prefer the Academy grade. Very interesting.
Hello, may I know what for you is the difference in terms of performance between the artist grade and academy grade Baohong papers? I have only tried the artist grade variant. Thanks!
i have purchased baohong blocks when they were dirty cheap on aliexpress. Loved the smallest blocks so much that i purchased the bigger ones, i think the blocks themselves are the size of a quarter sheet, almost the size of A3 paper. Now the dollar fluctuations prices are affecting me and some sellers just created new listings with more expensive prices in my opinion (im from brazil lol so purchasing this paper from US amazon is off-limits, i mostly buy from aliexpress as their prices are still more affordable than jacksons art which is an UK retailer with fair shipping and fair prices). but I found a retailer in the southeast of the country who sells baohong paper and i'm waiting to snatch a roll of the artist cold press paper because a 28% off coupon will be available soon! :D i also have your how to cut wc paper from rolls saved in my videos, its very helpful, but the baohong roll is ginormous, 130cm in width(?) so cutting it up will be a challenge lol
Hello, what is for you the ideal time/duration of soaking Baohong sheets? I've found that the papers have too much sizing on them, and are difficult to paint on w/o soaking them first. Thank you!
Great. I think it is becoming my favorite paper. I'm planning to try their rough texture paper next and see how I like that compared to this cold press. But, I have to pace myself. Too many watercolor supplies!! Haha! :-)
hello.. I searched for this size (30"×20") on a Chinese app (Ali Express) I couldn't find it.. could you please tell me where can I find this particular size? because they have size I could understand how much exactly..!🤔 thanks 😊 I love this paper..I already tried it 2 years ago..the artist grade blocks cold pressed..I love it 😀
This is the cold press, 30" x 22" sheet. It comes rolled up, as shown in the video, but flattens nicely. It arrived in great shape. I purchased it on Amazon - amzn.to/34m3jwS
Well. I can hear my mother yelling at me, if I even thought of doing that. (God rest her soul). :-) No, I wouldn't recommend sewing shears. Any pair of sharp paper scissors should work just fine.
What are your thoughts on the Baohong paper after using it for a while? is there big difference between their Academy vs. Artist grade? which do you prefer?
I have been using Baohong watercolor paper for about one year. I love it. I prefer the Artist grade. I like the texture and how it responds to water. However, the Academy grade (i.e. student grade) is exceptional among other student grade papers. If the Artist grade is too pricey, I can heartily recommend the Academy grade. If you can....try both and see which you prefer. Have fun and keep on painting.

I got the block to try and if I like it, I'll definitely order the roll next. Thanks for this video.

I actually don't soak them at all. I tape the paper down and paint. I find the Boahong to be softer than other brands... especially Arches.
Thanks I got the link. I like this paper too

Awesome. I love trying different paper. I've never tried this brand. I'll have to pick some up.
It's made in China. The price is great. I'm impressed with the quality. I hope you like it
@@KrisDeBruineStudio I bought a block of the rough. It's really nice. Thank you!

I purchased this Baohong Artist Grade Cold Press paper on Amazon. Here is a link - amzn.to/3MGBDn7
Hi..I was wondering can you fold that easy and make small travel journal booklets?
I've never done it...but I think it can be done. The 140lb paper is quite thick.
@@KrisDeBruineStudio never had any, I'll take your advice , Don't do it ..ha.. thanks for your reply 🚴
WC paper is the number one ingredient for success or failure of your painting.
I heartily agree.
Where did u purchase this?

🤔Imperial refers to the unit of measurement, (Inches), as opposed to Metric, (Centimetres).
Yes. Correct. Thanks for watching.
