This guy is GOLD. Everything he touches is magical. Had the opportunity to meet him years ago in LA when he was playing with Lana Lane and he was extremely nice too!

Yes so lazy the way he writes epic rock operas and plays all the instruments and produces it and mixes it makes me sick.

have to disagree, the award for the best voice has to go to Hansi:D Floor is excellent tho

    • @niklaskarlen9746

"Loud tv" must refer to the excessive mic noise. But the quality of the interview makes up for it. :)

I can't argue with him when he says he's one of best producers in the world, this guy is absolutely brilliant. And I say that from a critique's point of view not just because I'm a fan.

I have discovered this band only 3 weeks ago or so. And I listen to metal for very long time. I know so many good bands, my top 3 is Manowar, Iced Earth and Nighwish... but this guy... THIS GUY!!! True maestro, true storyteller and this album is a masterpiece. I love every single second there. Heard it dozen times already. Now I have very first album as well and I love it too. So can't wait to hear the whole discography and I hope there will be new album coming soon too!
Thank you very much for great music

Maybe a better mic or editing post recording would have been welcome, but good questions on the interview! Thank you for doing it.

There is actually a school of philosophy which would regard that exact attitude as the definition of humility. Because humility is not necessarily servility - it's associating your belief about your knowledge or skill with the reality of the situation. It's arrogant to say "I'm great at guitar!" if you're not. It's servile to say "naaw I'm a bad producer" when you're great but it's humble to say "I'm a bad guitarist and a good producer" if you are in fact a bad guitarist and a good producer.

I totally do not agree with the "Not a very good guitar player" part. The man made some of the most epic riffs and beautiful solos EVER with the technique I still aspire to.

He's clearly good enough to execute his ideas with the instrument, which is what matters. I really like how well balanced his albums are instrumentally, and i'm not sure that would be the case if he approached music more like a guitar virtuoso.

Hey Arjen: what about audio books? There is so much more depth in books than movies, and the more inspirational stories tend to not make it to the big screen. If you like stuff such as Blade Runner and 2001, you're probably missing out!

    • @KelvinMartins84
      @KelvinMartins84 7 лет назад +1

6006133 just think how much inspiration to his stories can have reading (listening) Isaac Asimov's books.

The second arjen said "if someone released this I would sue them and still win" destroyed my dreams of making an album that is inspired from his albums as a tribute. 😂 back to the drawing board I go.

Wow - never read a book...that really messes with me. I love the music but damn you need to read.

Me: Arjen is the most humble artist I know.
    Me: *watches the video*
    Me: Humility is overrated.
