For anyone looking for a cheaper and easier to find yarn I used the Bernat Plush Big with a 10mm hook and it worked just as well! It’s about $12 at Michaels
with it being 100% polyester, is the absorbency good on it?

I just finished mine ! It took about 45 min and it's adorable ! I added a triple crochet stitch in the middle of the mug holder just for more design and it's still perfect 🥰

i found some macrame yarn from hobby lobby! it’s relatively soft just not as stretchy but im hoping it’ll work similarly

At 5:58 when you say you add an extra stitch into the fake slip stitch, do you mean an extra half double crochet? Or an extra slip stitch, followed by a slip stitch into the first stitch, chain 1, and turn?

I usually get a 12oz iced coffee, would the one you demonstrate in the video be too big for that? If so, would it work to follow the tutorial but with a 10mm hook?
Yes! I would make the short size though (3hdc rows and 1 sc row). You can use a 10mm hook if you have a looser tension or you can do made to measure for a coffee cup!

totally understandable! bernat homemaker doubled up is great and also some people have used t-shirt yarn. I personally don't like blanket yarn for this, but other people enjoy using bernat blanket big i believe!
