Jennifer, this coffee cozy is an awesome quick Christmas gift. It would even be good without a decorative button. I have made coffee sleeves that are almost identical to this. These are very eco-friendly, and they give your moorning coffee have Starbucks or whereerever a nice, personal handmade touch. Jennifer, you always do such an incredible job on these videos. Your instructions are always very easy to foblow, and you have a very soothing voice.
Super easy and super cute. Perfect little gift for the neighbor’s kids with some goodies in the cup like you mentioned. Love the quick gifts series. Thanks Jennifer.
I have been waiting all week!! Im doing the fiber flux challenge... I'm going to challenge myself to make each one of the 12 weeks of gifting projects!!
This is also friendly to the environment!! It prevents the use of disposable paper sleeves. Also, if you gift it with a cup, it prevents the use of disposable cups!!
Glad I stumbled across this. I am working on smaller projects lately to practice on my stitches. I like the simplicity of this cozy. What a great idea to add a reusable cup to gift with the cozy.
i think i would make a bottom in these..nothing like a ceramic cup slippin right thru into your lap with these..make em with a yarn that doesnt stretch
Fiber Flux I have a question. After your begining Ch and SL ST to joined, you HDC into the next stitch + the remaining stitches. When you joined to the 1st HDC to complete round 1 you stated "remember that Ch 2 we did. Both the video and written directions do not mention a CH2 after the slip st to join. So my question is.. Is there a CH2 after the slip stitch to join in the beginning of R1?
Hi there, you have great tutorials, very informative and easy to understand, but, I find you talk so much at the beginning I do get figity waiting for the instruction to start. Again, I can fast forward to get past that point.
I know. I was looking for a chain 2 and now think I am doing it wrong!!! arghhhh did you end up adding a chain too at the very beginning or just leaving it until you started round 2?

I'm thrilled you are liking them!! :)
Super helpful. You’re a great presenter for crochet. This is the pattern I’ll be trying. The round scares me but you make it look easy!

Practical project and nicely demonstrated
I love these! I’ve seen plastic coffee cups at the Dollar Tree I may get to gift along with these filled with goodies!

This is a neat gift. I like it!
I’m going to start mine tomorrow. Thank you for teaching us

I looove the reusable cup idea!!! Christmas for my ladies at work DONE ❤
Me too ~ making some for my nieces' coworkers
thank you tammy 👍
Love, Love, Love!
I completed one as a gift for my yarn group. They loved it. Thank you!
Will try this but use 100% cotton yarn instead, which will absorb the heat of the coffee without melting the acrylic yarn. ❤
Amazing quality videos! You are a brilliant teacher and your projects are amazing
Thanks for giving me a great gift idea!
BEAUTIFUL and great idea thank you very much for the tutorial
I really love this. I can make it for my tea cup when I'm going out
I just made it! So cute. Pretty easy too. Thank you!
I'm gonna take your idea and run with it, lol. Thank you for a great tutorial
I have done 2 of the cowls as gifts. Love them! Will be making more.
I use one on my soda can too ♥️
OOh, that's a great idea... I think I'll use cotton for more absorption. Hmm, I wonder if cotton comes chunky? I'll have to Google :)
@@duckynickel1 you can always use an old cotton tshirt to make your own yarn! Extra recycling!
Thank you for the awesome tutorial😊
How cute!!!!!!!!!!
HOW CUTE!
I was waiting for this video, I love it thank you
Thank you for sharing. How well do the cozy sock up the condensation when using it on a cold drink?
I'm going to make mine in cotton.
I agree. If you want to make a cup sleeve that is microwavable, cotton is the best way to go.
Good idea
@@LRCole-nj5oenot sure about microwaveable but the cotton yarn absorbs the heat better and won’t melt like acrylic would.

Use cotton.
Very nice
Super cute!
Thank you for such a wonderful tutorial! I just made a couple of these. One in the gray and one in a mint color :)

Can these mug cozies be made with DK yarn adjusting for size (length and width)? I have so much small bits of this yarn in my stash.

Does it have to be chunky yarn
Is it better to use a worsted weight yarn or cotton yarn?
My opinion is that you can use either, but if you want a cozy that works in a microwave, you'll have to use cotton yarn. Hope this helps.
How do you make your buttons? The one you made is beautiful!
Did anyone catch the hook size? 👀👀
It is 8 mm. She mentions it in her 1st video of this series but not this video. The 1st video is cowl. 😊 Hope this helps.
@@tammymikolajczyk6458 Thank you.
The written pattern says an L.
She didn't mention it but on the red heart super saver chunky wrap it says to use a size L crochet hook.
I really like this cozy, but I don’t have this chunky yarn here in my store. Is it possible to use two strands of yarn to make this?
Yes Hazel. I double up my yarn all the time.
Thanks for such an amazing easy to follow and thorough video! But I am curious where did you get the amazing scissors?
Will it included baby shower gift set
I am s beginner. After I got sround circle the first time it was twisted and did not lay flat. What do I do to prevent this?
I made my first one and my seam is a bit diagonal. I'm a newbie, any idea what I did wrong?
I like the hook your using what brand is it?
That hook is a Clover, size 8mm (L)
If you want to use red heart 4 not chunky what hook would you use and how many stitches to start. Take out paper cut
How do I make sure the whole thing is even...not off and uneven where you started?
(What size hook
What’s another yarn comparable to the red saver chunky they never have that tnx
Teacher can you kindly let me know what kind of yarn is much more suitable for doing this coffee holder
Can I use a 6 bulky yarn. Don't want to buy any 5. Trying to use up my stash. Can I use two 4 weight strands?
Do you have to use chunky yarn or is regular ok
??? How about using 4 weight ???
Can’t find red heart saber chunky what do you recommend
Same size hook, but what's the hook size?
Thefunalongtheway Jennifer Thorpe all of these projects are made with a J 8mm hook 👍
R we chaining 2 and when the beginning
What size hook?
I noticed that you forgot to chain two, before starting the half double crochet, on row one.
Is this cotton or acrylic
Muy lindo aunk si estubiera en español no hay ningún tutorial en español por fabor
I have bulky #5 yarn is that the same as the red heart super chunky? And what size hook please??
She's using a size L hook. 5 is a bulky yarn you can use. Or, double up your 4 weight yarn. Use 2 strands together. Hope that helps.
Hi there, you have great tutorials, very informative and easy to understand, but, I find you talk so much at the beginning I do get figity waiting for the instruction to start. Again, I can fast forward to get past that point.
Hook size...per label?
“Remember that chain 2 we did in the beginning?” No, because you never did one lol
I caught that too!! What chain 2? The written directions don't mention that Ch 2 either. Hmmm...
I know. I was looking for a chain 2 and now think I am doing it wrong!!! arghhhh did you end up adding a chain too at the very beginning or just leaving it until you started round 2?
Shelby Class chain 1 where in the beginning
Hook Size?
I asked you. Ues tool.
Has anyone else found the super saver chunky?? I have had no luck!!
I get mine online, hope this helps! www.yarnspirations.com/red-heart-super-saver-chunky-yarn/E306.html
Michael's have it.
Joann's Fabrics carry that yarn too.
You can also double up your 4 weight yarn to make it bulky. I do it all the time. Products still come out nice. Hope that helps.
Never seen it
Talk 2 much get 2 the point ugh
I know right!
Or you just fast forward to the project
Beginners need for her to explain. Just fast forward.
This is cute, but was wondering if you have a tutorial on a cozy for cups with handles.
@@rachelle1 me too!
