Jessica Chastaine is wonderful in this role as Celia, such a different character from so many of her other roles, Celia must have been so much fun to play in this film.
Jessica Chastain is pure gold in this movie, I didn’t believe it was her!! Saw her in “The Martian” and “Zero Dark Thirty” where she plays kick butt characters that I never picked it was her playing Celia Foote!! It wasn’t till I saw the movie again recently and read the credits that I found out!! She’s so much better actress than most of her generation who seem to be popular..!
The book and the film are absolutely amazing!! The cast in this movie is exceptional. Minnie and Celia's bond was incredible. A movie I can watch more than once!!! 😊
I love how Minnie says, “What in the he**?” when she sees the kitchen, and Celia doesn’t take offense at it. It shows how she genuinely sees Minnie as an equal, and someone she can learn from, even though they just met.
Chastain charmed my socks off. As an actor myself, I can tell you that it's extraordinarily hard to play dumb and reveal honest emotion at the same time. This is the first film I've ever seen her in, and I'm already a fan. This film had a treasure trove of great female actors, from top to bottom.
Okay, I basically don't watch TV or movies but I've been getting hammered on nearly every platform with cilps of these two. So what am I looking for to watch this? Is it a movie?
The reason this worked was because even though Minnie was white she was an outcast. No one in that community besides Emma Stone's character liked her and she knew it. It is two outcasts coming together and understanding each other. It was touching and well done.
Idk if this is everywhere but offering guests a drink was a house rule when I was growing up I still offer something to anyone that comes over lol I love Celia and I love how she treated minny like a friend right from the start 💕
She grabbed Minnie and never let go. She showed her that not everyone was a HILLY HOLBROOKE. Mrs. Celia was a unicorn in Minnie's life. The friend they both didn't know they needed they found in each other❤❤❤
Scenes with Celia and Minny almost always make me feel all warm and bubbly inside, even when I'm down. Ahhhh this film, best to watch on bad days to make you smile :D

I just finished this movie and not one moment of dry eyes over here. I needed this. everybody was acting thier faces off in this picture!
I have watched this movie so many times and I 💘 Minny Jackson and Celia Foot's friendship. Through this relationship it allowed them both to heal from their past hurt while they supported each other through it.
Finally celia (Jessica Chastain) deserved that Oscars ❤️
So glad Jessica finally won an Oscar. She is such a sweetie.
I just cant with the "No sass mouthin' Minnie Jackson, no sass mouthin' 🤐" ...and then a few seconds later after seeing the kitchen...
"What in the hell?😒"
😅😂🤣
She is just the sweetest little thing!! Bless her kind heart!!!!!
Jessica Chastaine is wonderful in this role as Celia, such a different character from so many of her other roles, Celia must have been so much fun to play in this film.
I love these two characters together. The love and respect that they have for each other is so sweet and pure.
Two people who see in eachother the shared value of friendship. A lovely depiction 🥰❤️
This film is beautiful in and out.
This relationship is gold! loved how she treated Minnie like a friend and not a slave.
I love Celia, but I’m sure glad she was not allowed to decorate.
The relationship these two lady characters held was just precious.
The book and the film are absolutely amazing!! The cast in this movie is exceptional. Minnie and Celia's bond was incredible. A movie I can watch more than once!!! 😊
Mrs. Celia is one of my favorite characters in this movie. The actress did a fenominal job bringing her to life. ❤
No one else except Skeeter in the movie would even touch Minnie or Abilene, but Celia giving her a huge hug just shows her character.
I love how Minnie says, “What in the he**?” when she sees the kitchen, and Celia doesn’t take offense at it. It shows how she genuinely sees Minnie as an equal, and someone she can learn from, even though they just met.
Cecilia and Johnny and skeeter are my favorite people in the movie!
I love these two❤
They should do a whole movie with just these two. I would watch it
1:57 until 2:04: Pretty much sums up my relationship with one of my best friends. [ I'm Minnie]
I love her so damn much. Little happy dances in place, sweet angel on earth.
I love their friendship. One of the highlights of the whole film.
I love Minny and Celia
Celia treated her as a friend❤
Best part in the movie
The reason this worked was because even though Minnie was white she was an outcast. No one in that community besides Emma Stone's character liked her and she knew it. It is two outcasts coming together and understanding each other. It was touching and well done.
I love them both so much
I really hope there were people like Celia. If I were around in that time, I would want to be just like her.
One of the best books and film. So full of heart and heartbreak. ❤
Idk if this is everywhere but offering guests a drink was a house rule when I was growing up I still offer something to anyone that comes over lol I love Celia and I love how she treated minny like a friend right from the start 💕
Both of these women lucked out finding each other❤
Celia is so cute ! She rem ids me of Marilyn Monroe
Great movie. Jessica Chastain looks beautiful 😍😍😍
I watched this scene on full-screen..❤️
She grabbed Minnie and never let go. She showed her that not everyone was a HILLY HOLBROOKE. Mrs. Celia was a unicorn in Minnie's life. The friend they both didn't know they needed they found in each other❤❤❤
Scenes with Celia and Minny almost always make me feel all warm and bubbly inside, even when I'm down. Ahhhh this film, best to watch on bad days to make you smile :D
Back here after Jessica won that long elusive Oscar. Couldn't be happier for her. Thoroughly deserved.
Delighted that both of them
Have Oscar’s now ☺️
Seriously love Celia..... this actress portrayed her so realistically. Like a version of young Dolly Parton before the success. Fell in love with her character. There are way more like her, than like Hilly in the USA.
I always loved how Celia treated Minnie as a woman and friend from the start, she didn't see her as black and just a maid and I loved her more for it.
I love how cheerful she is.
I'm so glad they're reuniting for a movie. I loved their chemistry on film!
