This felt more like a practice run than the actual run
it kind of was, but a practice run is still a run
shenef a practice run may still be a run but it's definitely not a speedrun. The moment you fail in a run is the moment when people can no longer call it a "speed"run with a straight face.

That one was eeeh, it wasn't until Mountain Climbing where they took a completely different route that I've confirmed that they don't really have a lot of practice in and is probably just doing this on the first few attempts.
@@pdot2901 If you take a look at the stats bit, it says that there's only been around 38 minutes of practice.
So cringy
CodeParade himself could do better than that.
Why is this called a speedrun
Bitrate hates fractals
This is actually because the game has no antialiasing and is running at half resolution, it isn't just RUclips.

I think game physics is tied to framerate, it always slowed down for me if I set the resolution too high. I think you may be cheating yourself out of a couple of seconds with that low fps.
after version 1 that problem has been resolved
He died more than the number of minutes he took to complete this "speedrun". And I can't tell if that's more insulting to his speed, his win ratio, or just his common sense when he uploaded this and called it a "speedrun" but either way he cheated himself out of more than a "couple of seconds".
But most amateur programmers do have a tendency to tie the physics to frame rate. In all fairness though that's the default with most things.

@@shenef Yeah man I don't judge I know the game is new af . It seems logical that speedrunners will need a little more time to be fast at it. But it's kinda funny that you call it a word record.

@@JcbSm_ Not in general no. I like speedrunning. I just find it funny that sometimes it seems like people are deliberately choosing games no one has heard of/played to ensure world record.
If you compare this speedrun to one of something like Half Life or Super Mario... One is amazing skill and no flaws, other is riddeled with restarts and bad routing. Both world records... Since this video the game has had some impressive runs posted though with the record down to 10ish minutes.

this is the type of thing where every single failed speed run attempt by any professional speed runner would easily beat it.
This game is just so much fun to stare at, the geometry of the land and whatnot, it's cool as fuck

If nobody commented criticism then what comment would be left on the video? If nobody clicked on this video for criticism nobody would've clicked it after seeing the one with less than half the time bellow it.
A speedrun isn't just doing your best its using every trick there is with the best strategy along with loads of experience and no mistakes. And more often than not a single failure is considered a failed speedrun, let alone this.
This is just some guy who watched a video on it then took a video of his first try and slapped it on RUclips with a clickbait title. Although it's commendable that he actually put the right time in the title but when he did that he knew there would be nothing but criticism and sarcasm.
That's literally what this run is, one of my first attempts. But what makes you think the title is clickbait?

When there is no current speed runs on a new game so you make a speed run even tho you're not the best at speed runs so you could be the best and have the leaderboard before an actual speed runner takes your place.
at the time of that run there wasn't even a leaderboard :D

I have never played this game. I downloaded it a few minutes ago. I shaved 20 minutes off your record. Took me (maybe) 1 minute to complete Planet Crusher (about 5 tries).

I'm flattered, but no thank you. I'm a backseat gamer; it drives me nuts watching others make the same mistake over and over. I had to try it for myself to prove a point: that this isn't that hard.
@@joshuah2234 Perhaps not at the moment, but then again this is a new game with a VERY small speedrunning scene right now. In a little bit if people continue trying to improve times it will no longer be "easy" for anyone, even yourself. There's a reason speedrunning takes a lot of practice.

nope, only helps with framerate
internally the game calculates the physics and the fractal the same regardless of resolution
