Had the opportunity to work with him when he was singing for Slash on one of his tours. Without a doubt one of the nicest and most humble people I have ever met or had the chance to work with. Watching him from side stage for 5 nights in a row was truly remarkable. Singer, player, entertainer. One of the best in the industry regardless of genre.

Myles is one of the best singers to hit Rock in the last two decades. What is interesting is he never wanted to be a singer. He would rather be the guitarist. He is a great guitar player as well. His work with Alter Bridge and with Slash is awesome. Fun Fact. If you watch the movie Rockstar, he is the young guy that takes over vocals at the end.

Bro, I always tell people about his part on Rockstar. Speaking of which, the voice of the original singer in the band is Jeff Scott Soto. He’s definitely worth checking. From his days with Malmsteen and Axell Rudi Pell, to his solo covers work, to his unique performance with Queen (which the whole band said it was amazing for he never tries to imitate Freddie). Also, some duets he had with Glen Hughes.

Myles is one of my favourite singers, I have been in a live of Alterbridge!! I love this song, but the live version in Amsterdan is way better I think! He was wonderful live acoustic with Slash also
Not only is Miles very good at singing, he is very accurate when singing. Slash brought on a bunch of guest singers for an album. The sound engineer for the project had bought a studio grade tape machine from the '60s and wanted to use it. Tape is very expensive now so one doesn't want to do too many takes. Two of the singers the sound engineer felt were accurate enough to go on tape were Miles Kennedy and Beth Hart.
Alter Bridge with Myles are a religious experience. He takes you on a journey when he sings. I've been a huge fan of them for many years. They're a GREAT live band as well. This was a great reactions (as usual) Rebecca.
You should also listen to "Words Darker than their Wings" live at the Royal Albert Hall! It's part of their show with the Parallaxe Orchestra and it also showcases his range (in this song he hits his highest note IIRC)
Florin Petruț True but I think the Tremonti element makes this all that much more of a great choice for her to review it. Their rhythm section is amazing by itself but Kennedy and Tremonti are on some other plane of existence. Myles is phenomenal with Alter Bridge as well as when he guest appears on other things. He a great guitarist and in my opinion, one of the best vocalist of our time. Tremonti is the most underrated guitar players and a hell of a vocalist. If you haven’t heart it, check out Tremonti’s solo stuff Radical change in particular. Also Watch Over You when Alter Bridge performed it with Christina Scabbia. Simply amazing

His vocal range is incredible and his vocal control perhaps even more so. Please, please check out more of Myles Kennedy. I strongly suggest you check out Summergirl by The Mayfield Four, which was his old band. He does things with his voice in that song which are almost unreal.
I saw Myles live & unplugged, and it was the best show I have ever seen, Myles and an acoustic guitar and a mike, mind blown. He has the most incredible voice and feeling in his presentation of his music.

Myles absolutely loves music. He's very humble about it, but all the musicians that surround him are always impressed, via voice or guitar work. Bright, I like that, his voice is very bright. When he opens up, that high note is unlike any other. Wonderful vocalist, song writer and singer.

All I can say is only one other man in music has had this goosebump affect on me and that’s Chris Cornell. Back as a kid when mtv unplugged was at its peak so many performers from that time had the skill to sound as good live as on their records. But Chris had the ability to bring you to tears. Bravo Myles👏👏 you are one of the real deals. I was always into the alternative/punk scene in high school. 80’s metal I wasn’t into it at all. This quarantine has given me Norwegian bands like wardruna and heilung, symphonic bands like epica, within temptation and nightwish. It’s given me halestorm, and evanescence (who I knew barely ) and has reignited my dive back into live music. So ty Rebecca, because of you I can now add Myles and alter bridge to the new things in my playlist. 🥰

Myles is not only the best vocalist in rock (one of the best in general IMO), but he seems like a genuinely great person. I have a small anecdote if anyone cares to read. I met a someone when I was ~13-14 back in the Myspace days, who added me because I was wearing an Iron Maiden shirt and playing guitar in my photo lol but she ended up living near me and over the years we became super close friends. Chatting on AIM (lol) or texting basically all night every night about everything and nothing in particular. One of the things we really bonded over was her love for Axl's singing and my love for Slash's guitar playing. So rock music became something we always shared and talked about. She was IN LOVE with Myles, before I even knew who he was, from his days in M4 and Alter Bridge, but I hadn't heard of them. Of course, I learned who he was when he did a few songs with Slash in 2010, and the follow up tour/albums together. My first time seeing them live I was in the front row at the House of Blues, and Myles gave me a fistbump while I was singing along to a chorus, and then even DMed me on Twitter after I tweeted at him and Slash. The first concert I attended with my friend was their tour together in 2012, and we had gotten there super early for front row. Myles was doing a drive by high 5 of the front row but my friend was too short and he missed her hand. He came back to her, knelt down and shook her hand and gave her a guitar pick. She passed away unexpectedly two years after that, and I miss her and her friendship every day. Myles gave me the experience of being with her to see how stoked she was and to share in her excitement. Every time I hear him sing I think of her, and that is one of the best feelings a musician has ever given me.
I've never been this excited to see a video show up on RUclips. I've been a fan of Alter Bridge since the beginning, fifteen years ago. They have so many great songs, I see Blackbird has been recommended many times, it is their best song. Broken Wings, In Loving Memory, Ghost of Days Gone By and Ties That Bind are also some of their best songs. You can't really go wrong with their music though.
I would like to commend Mark Tremonti and Myles for putting their love of making music over egotism. They both have legitimate musical projects outside of Alter Bridge and have many other opportunities yet they still remain committed to the band. Mark could have easily been opposed to another person playing guitar in Alter Bridge but instead he saw the musical potential and encouraged Myles to contribute musically and lyrically. Myles, if he followed the example of many other star/artists, could very easily become big headed and move on to do his own thing. Just about every other great rock band in history has imploded from the conflict of their egos and a measure of drug abuse. Except Alter Bridge
Oh my!!! I know you didn't do this for me but thank you! I am not going to lie, when I watched him perform this song in person standing about 20ft from him i got a little emotional. Haha. This guy has helped dig me out of so much stuff throughout the years. He is such a powerful songwriter and singer. This song barely shows off his ability. What a lot of people don't realize is that he never really wanted to be a singer. He was a guitar teacher and is well versed in many styles. He can do just about anything, and he is one of the most humble human beings on the planet. I got to shake his hand and thank him for all the music over the years. I am glad people are suggesting the Amsterdam live show instead of Wembley. I like that Wembley show but He had just got off tour singing for Slash and his voice was fried. Not to mention he was sick. I would suggest watching Alter Bridge perform Words Darker Than Their Wings live at the RAH. That was an epic show!! Thanks again Rebecca! You are the best!

I saw Myles live & unplugged, and it was the best show I have ever seen, Myles and an acoustic guitar and a mike, mind blown. He has the most incredible voice and feeling in his presentation of his music.
If you've never seen Myles or Alter Bridge live it's a must! I swear that man can sing w/ out a microphone and the whole venue would hear him regardless. Very powerful voice!

I love, Love, LOVE that you reacted to Myles Kennedy. I've been a huge fan of his for a long while. I think the first time I saw him was in the film Rock Star. He had a great scene at the end of the film. His voice is DIVINE!

Myles absolutely loves music. He's very humble about it, but all the musicians that surround him are always impressed, via voice or guitar work. Bright, I like that, his voice is very bright. When he opens up, that high note is unlike any other. Wonderful vocalist, song writer and singer.
Beautiful and knowledgeable. Love your reactions and spot on analysis of my favorite music. I have been playing the drums and singing in bands for 30 years. It is my humble opinion that Myles Kennedy is the most important vocalist of our time. When someone writes and performs a song that puts a lump in your throat EVERY time you hear it, that is something special. Alter Bridge is easily one of the best bands out there. Myles and Slash have got together to put out some amazing music also. Keep up the awesome work Rebecca.

All I can say is only one other man in music has had this goosebump affect on me and that’s Chris Cornell. Back as a kid when mtv unplugged was at its peak so many performers from that time had the skill to sound as good live as on their records. But Chris had the ability to bring you to tears. Bravo Myles👏👏 you are one of the real deals. I was always into the alternative/punk scene in high school. 80’s metal I wasn’t into it at all. This quarantine has given me Norwegian bands like wardruna and heilung, symphonic bands like epica, within temptation and nightwish. It’s given me halestorm, and evanescence (who I knew barely ) and has reignited my dive back into live music. So ty Rebecca, because of you I can now add Myles and alter bridge to the new things in my playlist. 🥰

Simply put, Myles Kennedy is a great vocalist and his vocals sound great, one of the best rock singers today.
Myles is not only the best vocalist in rock (one of the best in general IMO), but he seems like a genuinely great person. I have a small anecdote if anyone cares to read.
I met a someone when I was ~13-14 back in the Myspace days, who added me because I was wearing an Iron Maiden shirt and playing guitar in my photo lol but she ended up living near me and over the years we became super close friends. Chatting on AIM (lol) or texting basically all night every night about everything and nothing in particular. One of the things we really bonded over was her love for Axl's singing and my love for Slash's guitar playing. So rock music became something we always shared and talked about.
She was IN LOVE with Myles, before I even knew who he was, from his days in M4 and Alter Bridge, but I hadn't heard of them. Of course, I learned who he was when he did a few songs with Slash in 2010, and the follow up tour/albums together. My first time seeing them live I was in the front row at the House of Blues, and Myles gave me a fistbump while I was singing along to a chorus, and then even DMed me on Twitter after I tweeted at him and Slash.
The first concert I attended with my friend was their tour together in 2012, and we had gotten there super early for front row. Myles was doing a drive by high 5 of the front row but my friend was too short and he missed her hand. He came back to her, knelt down and shook her hand and gave her a guitar pick.
She passed away unexpectedly two years after that, and I miss her and her friendship every day. Myles gave me the experience of being with her to see how stoked she was and to share in her excitement. Every time I hear him sing I think of her, and that is one of the best feelings a musician has ever given me.

I've never been this excited to see a video show up on RUclips. I've been a fan of Alter Bridge since the beginning, fifteen years ago. They have so many great songs, I see Blackbird has been recommended many times, it is their best song. Broken Wings, In Loving Memory, Ghost of Days Gone By and Ties That Bind are also some of their best songs. You can't really go wrong with their music though.

I would like to commend Mark Tremonti and Myles for putting their love of making music over egotism. They both have legitimate musical projects outside of Alter Bridge and have many other opportunities yet they still remain committed to the band. Mark could have easily been opposed to another person playing guitar in Alter Bridge but instead he saw the musical potential and encouraged Myles to contribute musically and lyrically. Myles, if he followed the example of many other star/artists, could very easily become big headed and move on to do his own thing. Just about every other great rock band in history has imploded from the conflict of their egos and a measure of drug abuse. Except Alter Bridge

Oh my!!! I know you didn't do this for me but thank you! I am not going to lie, when I watched him perform this song in person standing about 20ft from him i got a little emotional. Haha. This guy has helped dig me out of so much stuff throughout the years. He is such a powerful songwriter and singer. This song barely shows off his ability.
What a lot of people don't realize is that he never really wanted to be a singer. He was a guitar teacher and is well versed in many styles. He can do just about anything, and he is one of the most humble human beings on the planet. I got to shake his hand and thank him for all the music over the years.
I am glad people are suggesting the Amsterdam live show instead of Wembley. I like that Wembley show but He had just got off tour singing for Slash and his voice was fried. Not to mention he was sick. I would suggest watching Alter Bridge perform Words Darker Than Their Wings live at the RAH. That was an epic show!!

Myles and Alter Bridge don't get nearly enough attention from people. Amazingly talented group. The live version of Open Your Eyes from their show in Amsterdam is pretty special!
"Blackbird" is a true masterpiece by Alter Bridge - a great song by any measure in any genre, imo. Worth a listen regardless of the vocal quality (which is excellent) - lyrics, structure, dynamics, power, tenderness and instrumental prowess. Off the same album as this song... 🤟😎🤟
