      @@mikem9468 I'm just saying the RaptorR is well equipped to handle this type of abuse and trans temps were up there. This hill is going to fry lesser trucks, which is a good chunk of them. I do think manufacturers should be doing this test though for extreme use.

      @mikem9468 Год назад

      @@302Mustang13 Yes! You put a tow rating on there, TFL should test the vehicle at that tow rating up this hill! Honda says the Pilot can tow 5,000 lbs, lets hook up a trailer with a side by side or whatever to 4,000 or 4,500 and run it up this hill! DO IT!!!!

    • @302Mustang13
      @302Mustang13 Год назад

      @@mikem9468 These tow ratings should not be meant to cover everywhere at max load and especially steep inclines at low speeds. All a manufacturer can do is test as much as possible with extremes that a customer might replicate. There are no guarantees in the event that a vehicle has been run to the maximum. I would say a 3/4 or one ton and beyond would be the exception but regular vehicles such as half ton and below are designed for regular use mainly. Of course the tow ratings would then be considered exaggerated, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know towing 12k-14k or even 8.1k pounds with a half ton in this manner will be bad. Just because my car is track ready doesn't mean I can run it all day and expect no issues.

    The temps on the Ford, are because of the way it is cooled. The Ford has water to air intercooler, oil to water engine oil cooler, and the transmission oil cooler is also oil to water. Advantage is the heat can be faster dissipated from the individual components. Trade off is the average temps are higher.
    Where as the Ram and GM have oil to water engine oil coolers, and everything else is oil to air. Issue with this is, once the component gets hot it's slower to dissipate the heat. So it looks better upfront (lower initial temps) but once it gets hot you have to stop working it so it can cool.
    Exactly what happened to the chevy overheated. Ford didn’t better system with Ford. Works similarly to jumping into a 75f pool cools you faster than 75f wind

    New pickup owner here btw (thanks to Andre). I am getting RT tires and trying to decide between D and E load. I will use the truck (23 Tundra 1794 with TRD PKGE) for overlanding and camping. Maybe some moderate towing but nothing too nuts. Would a D load tire be enough or should I go with an E load tire? The tire is a Falken Wildpeak RT - 35s. They already are heavy tires at D load (76 lbs) and E load would be 79 lbs. Thoughts?

      @rlaracue Год назад

      @@LucasLeCompteMusic I am tempted. The Tundra is more of a 1500 class truck but I get your point. That said the RT0 D-load tire is a 10ply with a 3 ply sidewall. The main thing you seem to get with the E load is more rubber on the tread. Tread depth on the D load is 16/32nd. Tread depth on the E load is 20/32nd which adds 3 pounds per tire to the mix. Do you all think more tread depth will equal more noise?

      @@rlaracue My Baja boss MTs are E and 34.5 inches and are super quiet on the road. My moose mirrors make more noise grapping air than my tires make noise on the road. How stupid can one be? Raptor literally has the better suspension. Bigger shock DA, dampening per corner/breakover/approach/departure, travel and much more, than Ram and GM..
      What factory Ram or GM has completed the Baja 1000 or is the official chase truck?
      And if they are equipped with the better suspension then elaborate why everyone in the UTE4400 uses Fox Live Valves not Kings/Bilstein garbage.
