    I was so close to getting the K7 or K3, but then I remembered that I sometimes miss keystrokes on "Flat" or "low profile" keyboard. In the past I used to use a "Qisan Cyborg Soldier 3" which was an RGB gaming keyboard, and I then switched to the "Corsair K55 RGB Membrane Gaming Keyboard" which I used for the longest time. I have a Sony Vaio Laptop (since 2013), which has low profile keys, but I will still occasionally miss keystrokes.
    I'm so glad I got the K2, as it has the perfect feel for me, and is very comfortable for me.

    I got a Keychron K5 SE low profile precisely because of that concern. I don't like wrist rests and their regular keyboards looked pretty thick. Several reviews I've seen backed that up. Very happy with the low profile. I was concerned about the flatter keys, but it's not bad.

    I truly agree with you, I've just gotten my K14 and the ergonomics really sucks. My wrist gets tired very easily after typing for a while, heck it even gets tired after typing all of these because of the height of the keyboard. Some of us will need a wrist rest if we want to use keyboards with this kind of height

    A major drawback to the K2 V2 is that it does not work with Via (or any other macro programming software). The only option for remapping keys is to use a purely software solution - you have to run software on the computer that your keyboard is connected to and you have to keep it running for the remapping to work. If you use the keyboard on a different computer, your macros won't be available like they would if you could actually program them into the keyboard with Via. Really disappointing for anyone who likes the macro feature that most mechanical keyboards support.

    Palm rest?

    Nice video! You probably already know this but there's a low profile Keychron, I believe the K3, which is quite good apparently. It would be a closer typing experience than the MacBook keyboard and maybe with a padded or hard wrist rest it would make it more comfortable and painless to you. Might be worth trying it out since it comes with the same features

    No, if you want a low profile keyboard, you can get a low profile keyboard. So keep the K this height. Duh.

    Wrist rest is a way to go. I use it daily, designing and typing and even gaming. On the other hand I never had any problems adjusting to a keyboard. Trust me if you did not satisfy your needs with K2 do not waste money on K3. There are a lot of options there for you. LK67 is a great option, or if you have money, buy the Q1 from Keychron. Maybe some AKKO keyboards could help you. I am amazed you went to a Mac keyboard after a mechanical one.

    • @earlmalaki
      @earlmalaki  2 года назад +1

      thanks for the suggestions! i'll check those out. me too! I didn't expect to be okay going back to macbook keyboard. it's worth mentioning that the m1 macbook 2020 keyboard is more clicky than my previous macbook 2015, hence i kind of like it, even if it's not as satisfying as mech keys.

    Your wrist shouldn’t rest the desk or the wrist rest. Your fingers should float over the keys. Putting the weight of your upper body on your wrist is not good.
