So glad I watched this. I almost didn’t realize I ordered the non hotswappable version. Got it returned and the hot swap board shows up tomorrow, thank you!
I have a Keychron K8 and it’s actually great for modding if you get the hot swap version. So I’m sure the same would apply to the K2. It’s decent out of the box, but most Keychron keyboards (minus the slim variants) are very mod-friendly and can greatly benefit from some customizing. Always recommend Keychron to ppl who are looking to experiment with keyboards.
Ironically I bought my K2v2 (hotswap) with the purpose of modding: case foam mod, plate foam mod, tempest mod, durock plate mount stabs clipped lubed, gazzew boba u4t lubed, akko black/pink asa keycaps. Fairly happy with the results
I just got the ABS version of this with Gateron Brown pre lubed. Wow this also feels so solid, next to my Logitech G513 it feels premium, the pre lubed Gateron Browns are easily the best switches I've used, a real pleasure to use. Pity the cable wasn't on the rear but it's only a minor thing for me, I've yet to try it with Bluetooth connection, I may just use that.
Good morning, I watched your video, it’s really fantastic! I had a question what is the length of the cable for the connection. Thank you for answering me. Sincerely,
This is me being shallow, But I find it frustrating they only have this one color combination. I’m personally not a fan of it and I’d prefer a plain white one like the RK84. I will hand it to them the color combo is iconic to them now.
Nice video! Can you elaborate more on how much better the k2 feels vs the rk84. You said it feels better but didn’t explain in what way. Will be making a purchase base in your answer lol. Also what’s better the 2.4 ghz of the rk84 in term of latency or the Bluetooth connection of the k2? In term of gaming as well! Thank you.
2.4 ghz is better than Bluetooth as it's less being affected by the environment than Bluetooth, also 2.4 ghz require to use via a USB dongle so the connection will be consistently more than Bluetooth.
@@al98708 hyper x have some black and white key caps. Those are the one I use, and they are 500% better, also I have 599 subs if you want to be the 600
I made the mistake of buying a Keychron K7. What I received was NOT wireless (no dongle included) and, when connected by USB cable, many keys did not work. Keychron ignored all my requests for an RMA and a refund. Before buying anything from Keychron, think! Do you want to give your money to a company that treats its customers this way?
I think keychron released a hotswap version of the k2v2! I had to decide between the k2 and the RK84 but ultimately went with the RK for better portability.
U said this keyboards gonna be used mainly by typists and not gamers, I wanna game on it, is it good for that? Love your vids btw, they’re very informative
This would be perfectly fine to game on IF you use it in wired mode. Bluetooth connection would not be good for gaming due to the max polling rate. Hope this helps!
I'm having a hard time choosing between the Keychron K2 v2 or the RC84 or RK84. I don't really care about wireless, but I do want per key RGB, is it true that the K2 still doesn't have per key RGB, meaning that you can't assign colors to each key independently? Question #2, If you had to choose between the RC84 or the RK84 and you don't care about wireless, which one has the better build quality and feel?
The spacebar really is a let down. I just got it, but going to return it. It just messes up the overall feel. Also I think the Red Switches are way too soft and smooth for typing. Lastly, the keyboard is quite high, so it might be difficult for some to find the right angle. Maybe check the K3 for a lower profile one.
I was looking at the Logitech Mechanical MX, $150. Yeowch. For $50 I got the K2 v2 instead. it's fantastic, and it has one of my favorite features, built in screen shot button which I use extensively. This is the non-RGB, brown key version which is an Amazon choice and while it has lightening effects, the only thing I want it to do is show the keys and even with my vision issues, I can see it well.
So I'm new to the thoccing community but does this mean you can't change the switches at all or you just have to get different version of the gat switches
Hot swapable means that u can take the gatoron or whatever switches off and on this keyboard is no hottswappable which means that u can’t change switches
Someone has issues with this Keyboard at the time to use it to play? I used to play league of legends with it, but sometimes does not recognized the push keys
Akko or the Ep84 is better than Keychron to be honest. Keychron products is trash imo, eg. terrible stabilizers, cheap and horrendous ABS keycaps, no software, RGB light is weak and dim.
@@rahulbiji9018 Aye a very wise choice I might say. You'll just need a good pack of new switches for replacement since the stock switches on RK84 is not that good.
Got my keychron k2v2 and (despite no hotswap) I actually silicone mold modded it and brush lubed it without desoldering, and it sounds amazing now! Very deep and thocky. I think I've brought out close to the full potential of this keyboard. I agree though that it's not the best for modability, but you can still do it and it's totally worth it!

What are the peripherials you have around the keyboard? Love the wrist rest and the mat that you have it all on.
Keychron K2v2 or Royal Kludge Rk84? 👉🏼👈🏼 Base on Quality and Price?
Keychron is overpriced for what it can offer while RK is excellent for it price.

The best in this video it's the Bowie knife you using. The plastic be afraid and open before the knife touching it. 🤪
one thing i hate about keychron : the heights. why do they always make such a tall keyboard?

Have you use a wrist rest when using these taller keyboards to change the typing angle to something more comfortable.
