The gasket performance is quite a bit different between the P1 and the Q1. The Q1 Max is very bouncy. To me that is the biggest difference, if you want a LOT of bounce get the Q1 Max. To me the sound is better on the P1 though at least to my ears and the caps are better... Betty this is a phenomenal video, the amount of detail you provided for your viewers is amazing! So glad to see new videos again!
One thing that i feel that Keychron does that no (or very few) other manufacturers do is that they have ISO-versions available. Great for those of us in the rest of the world (that love our big Return-keys).
I bought a Q6 barebone ISO last year (I'm old and like a numpad), slapped some Boba U4t in and topped them with MT3 Noctua keycaps from Drop. I love this keyboard! feels amazing to type on and sounds great.
Keychron definitely has a lot of options that warrants an in detail video like this! And with Lemokey being a part of it now, the choices are endless! Great vid as always!
Great video. I wish this was around like 2 years ago when I was trying to decipher Keychron’s website and lineup to buy my first mechanical keyboard. And I literally mean de-cipher. It’s so complicated that it totally feels like having to use a secret code to figure out what to buy.
I recently got a Keychron South Paw keyboard. It sounds and feels amazing out the box, Initially I bought it for my job -beforeIwastolditwasapreferenceandnotanecessary- I use it as my main keyboard now. :)
I actually just got a Q1 HE, and I've been loving it! It's my first non-Logitech/non-laptop kb in...well... probably since whatever trash came with my budget 286 back in the day. So I don't /really/ have anything to compare it to. It's certainly miles better than the Logi G910 I'm coming from. Got it for the HE switches. Seems like it was the only HE KB that /also/ had a knob + arrows. I need the knob - so glad Keychron had that available. Also got a Q0 numpad, cuz I use the numpad way too often to be without - but I've been trying to use it southpaw, which has been an interesting experience. The HE stuff is fascinating. It's what drew me. (Just as aside, y'all are crazy with some of the cut-down keebs! I lean the other way - gimme MOAR buttons! I have big hands and a big desk! If Keychron made a 120% HE with a knob I'd buy it in a heartbeat!)
Solid advice. Went through a few keychron keyboards. For someone who wants to upgrade their keyboard the brand is very friendly to changing switches and via programming make it very easy to change and try different key maps and shortcut. There are other cheaper better options but until you know what you like you can’t go wrong with keychron. Also last black Friday they had pretty decent deals on the pro series. Myself I bumped to Zsa voyager for ultimate travel and key mapping. And currently in hhkb snow for their unique feel and loving it. I rotate my keyboards but the keychron is still one of my main rotations especially when you nail down what feel and sound you want.
I recently ordered from Keychron. This is how i picked. First, i asked myself what layout i wanted. This was easy to find because next to the version number, it has the layout in brackets on their website. I then found the keyboards in the layout i wanted, that were in ISO as i wanted ISO. I ended up wanting a 96% keyboard because i wanted a shorter keyboard than a full length, but i still wanted the numpad. That left me between the Q5 Pro and Q5 max, and the K5 Pro. I ended up going with the Q5 Max because the Pro did not have 2.4ghz wireless, only bluetooth, which has too high latency for gaming. The K5 Pro wasn't quite what i wanted as the layout, while still being 96%, was slightly different and it did not have a programmable knob/pot.
I have a black Q3 (TKL). I don't mind not having a numpad but I do like the complete separation of the nav block. Mods: foam, tape, that anti-collision tape between the two case halves (don't remember the mod's name), hand-lubed Gateron black ink v2 with 40g springs and pbtfans wob caps.
I bought second hand keychron v1 for $55 last year as my first custom keeb. I dont really like the transculent plastic looks so i spray paint the top case white and i really like how it turned out :>
Keychron killed it by being one of the first to have a full lineup of ISO layouts, thus reaching a huge market worldwide. I honestly don't understand what other manufacturers are thinking, have they ever looked out of their windows, there's a whole world out there using ISO.... Epomaker has some, AKKO has very few....
Wow, I'm early for once! Good timing! I have a K8, but have been looking at the k4 because of the number pad. Your vids are always informative. Thanks!
Nice video! I used the V1 for 1.5 years and I'm very dissapointed, plastic case broke easily& latency is painful; not only is it 14ms at best(2-frame delay for 144hz monitor) but it flactuates to 28+ms often, so stuff like 1-frame combos in fighting games are impossible. It wasn't advertised as a "gaming keyboard" with 1k Hz polling rate, but even if so that doesn't translate to 1ms response time plus everyone recommended it, which goes to show you should take everything with a grain of salt. I've moved on to DrunkDeer and their software is worse but everything else is much better(sound, build quality, latency etc)
Let alone picking from which keyboard from keychron is best, it might not even be available in your region. The Australian website doesn't have all the models that the US website does.
The original low profile K series had both Keychron and Gateron switches. I have the white switches which are ultra silent and very little pressure due to medical issue. The red switches is too hard to type on for me. Problem is the original series will be discontinued and the new series just have Gateron low profile switches and they do not come in white. What are my options if I want to use the Pro or Max low profile series?
Sorry, I can't watch this video. Swapping views, angles, zoom here and there and everywhere. Not sure about the purpose but I feel carsick after five mins.

Welcome back! Can we have a video reviewing Lofree's low profile keyboards? Thanks

This is the video I have been waiting for!

Heck yeah! A keychron guide
Quick tip: dont screw your screws in too tight if your keyboard has a plastic housing/case, you are going to strip the threads as did I.
This helped me find a keyboard❤❤
So happy to see you back
so happy ur back to uploading
Your videos are always so thorough and so educational. I started this keyboard hobby thanks to your videos. Thank you~~
Thank you for this video! Really helpful as I'm looking to enter the space.

Typing this from my Q3 with CLICKY Jade Box switches (THOCK) and loving it hahaha
Wow, I'm early for once! Good timing! I have a K8, but have been looking at the k4 because of the number pad. Your vids are always informative. Thanks!
keychron has so many keyboard that i genuinely wonder how big their production facility is
I'd like to see you review NuPhy keyboards, especially their new V2 lines that support QMK/VIA
Love my keychron k4 94% is fan-fraggin-tastic
Get the sub brand of keychron called lemokey. Lemokey P1 custom is a 75% aluminum keyboard.
🤔 thanks for the info, will give them a look
I actually like my Lemokey P1 better than my Q1 V2. I did just get a Q1 Pro at MicroCenter for $70 closeout.
You did so good ^^✨

its so dumb that less keyboard costs more money
Hi, switch and click I love your videos, but could you please do an upgrade of the iloubee i87 keyboard
Wow. Keyboard paradise. ❤❤❤

Would you do a keychron q1 HE mod guide? I see a lot of generic reviews of that keyboard saying roughly the same thing but no one really mods it
what is that square thing where you put all the different switches you have called?
11:00 do I see the B key twice on the Alice layout?
Q60 Max, you're welcome.
K1 v4 is mine. I guess it's rubbish nowadays.😅
FINALLY
This content made it all click!
I wish I could buy a keyboard, but it doesn't make much sense considering I'm an 8th grader with no PC
Bruh you can plug a keyboard into a console
I know that feel, but if you buy a Bluetooth one you can use it with a tablet or phone
@@qLego_with usb c you can use it on those as well
@@GGray. if it’s an apple tablet not so
@@GGray. yep! got an rk r75 (wired connection only) and it works just fine with my ipad air
