The gasket performance is quite a bit different between the P1 and the Q1. The Q1 Max is very bouncy. To me that is the biggest difference, if you want a LOT of bounce get the Q1 Max. To me the sound is better on the P1 though at least to my ears and the caps are better... Betty this is a phenomenal video, the amount of detail you provided for your viewers is amazing! So glad to see new videos again!

Something that could be added is that the layout does not stop at size. ISO layouts on the Keychron website are sometimes under a different listing of the same product, sometimes under the same. Sometimes the ISO listing comes up when you navigate to the product via the menus, sometimes they don't and require you to search for them separately. It is a pain, but at the same time, beats competitors like Lofree or Nuphy out of the water by even having ISO options for many of their boards.

Thanks for your videos and effort to make it easier for us. I just bought a K10 Max with red switches. It's a weird feeling to type on a keyboard with high keys and long movement after working on laptops and low profile keyboards for about 20 years. I still make errors typing on the new one but it feels so good, and sound amazing. I think I would also love to type on blue switches, but I didn't have a chance to try those.

In Europe Keychron is pretty funny to shop at. They do seem to have a store for many if not most countries. They are not local versions of the same shop. In fact they do have different products on offer and also availability is widely different. Now comes the fun part. Within the EU, you can go to any of these shops and from those that I tried, shipping fees did not change to Austria, no matter what country TLD the store had.
This is especially relevant as various ISO layouts are often sold out and the ISO-DE layout may be sold out in the German store but available in the French. ...
I have no idea what and how this shop system works in the background. Probably it all comes from the same warehouse anyway, so I really don't get the vastly different offerings and availability.

Tried everything, still didn't work so I knew I had to get a new keyboard. Ended up going with the Lemokey P1 Pro which I am very happy with. I have lubed Drop Holy Panda switches which I put into it and it is truly a sensational experience using this keyboard. Typing on the Keychron Q1 HE right now, and I gotta say, I'm absolutely in love with this keyboard! Coming from mainly "gamer focused" keyboard brands like Razer and Steelseries in the past, this thing is a massive upgrade over any of those. I actually bought this the the Razer Blackwidow V4 75% to test them side by side, since I'd heard Razer made some upgrades. But this thing absolutely blows Razer out of the water. I will say, its definitely not cheap, but its definitely worth it. I'm going to be looking into replacing the stabs with Durock V3's to hopefully make the spacebar a little better too.

I’m looking at Keychron again to replace my much-loved but beaten-up original K3 and the line-up has just exploded and now I have a very bad case of analysis paralysis! I was leaning towards to the V MAX because they have dual adapters (a Type-C adapter) which I thought would be convenient with my MacBook Air. But then you say Vs are lower build quality. How about the V MAXs? But now you got me looking at the Q MAXs ($$$) and Lemokeys. Maybe full Q6, or 1 or 3 with the standalone number pad if I need it. But as I’m also eyeing the Lemokey G1 mouse, now the X1/2 or L1/2 ($$$) are catching my eye. But since I probably want to stick with low profile the only choice is K Max after all. Dammit! I’m probably overthinking this. But am I though?

  • @Belgarathe
    @Belgarathe 2 месяца назад

Solid advice. Went through a few keychron keyboards. For someone who wants to upgrade their keyboard the brand is very friendly to changing switches and via programming make it very easy to change and try different key maps and shortcut. There are other cheaper better options but until you know what you like you can’t go wrong with keychron. Also last black Friday they had pretty decent deals on the pro series. Myself I bumped to Zsa voyager for ultimate travel and key mapping. And currently in hhkb snow for their unique feel and loving it. I rotate my keyboards but the keychron is still one of my main rotations especially when you nail down what feel and sound you want.

  • @Vennnaya

I recently ordered from Keychron. This is how i picked.
First, i asked myself what layout i wanted. This was easy to find because next to the version number, it has the layout in brackets on their website.
I then found the keyboards in the layout i wanted, that were in ISO as i wanted ISO. I ended up wanting a 96% keyboard because i wanted a shorter keyboard than a full length, but i still wanted the numpad. That left me between the Q5 Pro and Q5 max, and the K5 Pro.
I ended up going with the Q5 Max because the Pro did not have 2.4ghz wireless, only bluetooth, which has too high latency for gaming. The K5 Pro wasn't quite what i wanted as the layout, while still being 96%, was slightly different and it did not have a programmable knob/pot.

I actually just got a Q1 HE, and I've been loving it! It's my first non-Logitech/non-laptop kb in...well... probably since whatever trash came with my budget 286 back in the day. So I don't /really/ have anything to compare it to. It's certainly miles better than the Logi G910 I'm coming from. Got it for the HE switches. Seems like it was the only HE KB that /also/ had a knob + arrows. I need the knob - so glad Keychron had that available. Also got a Q0 numpad, cuz I use the numpad way too often to be without - but I've been trying to use it southpaw, which has been an interesting experience. The HE stuff is fascinating. It's what drew me. (Just as aside, y'all are crazy with some of the cut-down keebs! I lean the other way - gimme MOAR buttons! I have big hands and a big desk! If Keychron made a 120% HE with a knob I'd buy it in a heartbeat!)

Keychron killed it by being one of the first to have a full lineup of ISO layouts, thus reaching a huge market worldwide. I honestly don't understand what other manufacturers are thinking, have they ever looked out of their windows, there's a whole world out there using ISO.... Epomaker has some, AKKO has very few....

I bought a 27" monitor as an extension for my laptop earlier this year since I'd been desperately in need of bigger workspace. I thought it would be clumsy to type with my laptop's keyboard but my eyes were on the second, larger monitor; so I thought it would be a good idea to get a keyboard. It was the time I was introduced to mechanical keyboards, and a bit googling took me to Keychron. Budget consideration for a first mechanical keyboard brought me to Keychron C1 Pro; it's hot-swappable (sounds good, so I could customize later when I have time), has RGB backlight (that I rarely use because I'm not looking at the keyboard all the time), and has VIA/QMK support (I didn't know what it was but it sounds cool anyway).

  • @davidg393

Out of the K, K Pro and Max, the Max is not necessarily the best because it does not support VIA while K Pro does. In Australia, Amazon actually sell the K Pro at a cheaper price than the equivalent Max version.

So a set of stock keycaps and Gateron Jupiter switches for a 100% full-size keyboard is really only valued at $20? I'm guessing they must sell a lot of the barebones model hence the relatively high price.

Overall, I like it but there are just too many options which is both good and bad. They really need to simplify their lineup. The switch parameters are confusing if you don’t already know what they mean and the LED feature feels like a gimmick for kids. For productivity, I’d swap the DEL key and the backlight key because people are definitely going to hit that backlight mode key by accident.

I have A V3 Max for work, with custom keycaps (cherry profile, that I designed myself via YUZU). It's light weight, easy to travel with. Hence why the V3 Max for work. The sound, honestly, I love it. It has a decent spacebar and I was surprised. For my home office/gaming I designed my keycaps again and wanted a TKL, so there the Q3 Max comes in. It stays at my desk and never moves. The weight of it makes it so. The stock keycaps sounded so nice, but the stock spacebar not. They did add foam which helped it out. Now, when I placed in my own keycaps from YUZU, the sound changed a lot. For the better imho. It's a bit louder, but the spacebar doesn't have a nasty obnoxious sound.
All in all, for a Belgian ISO viewer... I love keychron as they think about ISO support a lot. I know I'm a minority ISO-user, but I need it, as a programmer/gamer/musician I'm so used to it and honestly, other keyboards I tried/tested didn't do it for me OR they did do it for me - but there wasn't an ISO version. Or the ISO version wasn't hotswap...
I'm glad the company exists thus, because when building keyboards for someone else I know I'll at least find something they'll like. As the Q1 Pro I did for someone in a custom keycap theme. I did like the type feel there myself with their own (ISO-BE keycaps!!); so I kept them if I ever want to use it on my own 75% build. Because, I feel I need to try that vs a TKL. More space for mousemovement!

Some of these keyboards have a "print screen" button (left side of "del"). Do someone know whether such button is the classical "print screen" function (taking a screenshot of full screen and saving it to the clipboard), or the new one (the snipping function that is called with Windows + Shift + S)..?

@SwitchandClickOfficial first: I think you're gorgeous! :) second, I got the Keychron V6 Full Size Wired QMK. Moved up from a lousy Logitech K750 Solar, and WOW! what an amazing difference! I did pay more buying it from Amazon, but that was my ignorance. I am happy with the V6 and key replacement from the MAC keys to Windows (I use Linux) was super easy. A monkey could do it. The feel and sound of the V6 is awesome. I also discovered how to change the back lighting effects (super easy - and there are many!). My only wish is that the keycaps had illuminated symbols (the light just shines between the keycaps). Maybe there's a keycap replacement kit that has symbols that can pass light from below? All in all though, I absolutely love this keyboard. Who knew it could be a big deal?
