Ahh, the Garrison! Perfect for beginning picking dimple locks. Sure, it’s made by the mighty Mul-T-Lock, but that’s the best thing, it’s well made, predictable and full of feedback while having a nice open keyway :-)

Just in case some one didn't already answer.. Those 5 holes are for key control pins you sometimes find in MTL's..

You’ve inspired me to take the plunge & order one of these as an introduction to dimple pin picking. Further down the rabbit hole I go ...

You picked that like it was a cheap master lock. Got some skills bud!! Not to mention how many tools on the market you helped design

I've always imagined that Multilocks were the height of security, ever since I first saw one for the first time and being amazed by the strange high tech key.
Seeing you and others pick them so easily really has taken the shine from them for me.

They are high security locks the fact a few people on RUclips can pick them in the real world means nothing.

Just popped open my first dimple lock today and it was 7 pin Multilock , done it twice as usually to exclude beginners luck factor...😉
After researching lock online I come across your video and have to absolutely agree with you, nice roomy keyway, great feedback and also key pins are massive which is actually helpful to get the right pick placement (just trying dimple locks first time)
    Great video as usually, thanks👍

Following your recommendation in another video, I managed to get hold of a second hand one of these. It operates really smoothly and it has that used-lock smell and feel (which is something reassuring). Unlike many of my other euro cylinders, this one feels solid, heavy and doesn't rattle around at all. I've not tried picking it yet as I'm new to dimple locks and wanted to work my way up to this one. There's one thing I haven't yet figured out though. It came with 3 keys, 2 of which have a red dot and the third has a blue. All of them seem to operate identically but I'm puzzled about what significance, if any, these different coloured dots have. I see you could buy them separately and they are outside the keyway, so I'm presuming these are purely passive. Maybe something for the end user to employ their own colour coding system for different key holders.

The holes are for side pins. Factory pined cylinders do not have them but master keyed cylinders do.

@@LordPrecision no there are only 5 holes in shell of a 7 pin core therefore cannot be for rekeying. MulTLock uses the same shells what changes are the plugs those holes in the shell are in-between the holes in the plug they do not line up. Any locksmith that works with the product knows to increase security Mul T Lock product is side pins and back pin capable

Nicely done! Never even heard of this one until now. How would you rate this compared to the Jr? More or less difficult? Ive recently become a fan of MTLs. Ive got an MTL Jr but other than the Interactive and MT5+, Ive not been able to find others. Figured going from the Jr to the MT5+ may be a bit too big of a jump lol. Thank for sharing :)
