Which one is your choice; Camlink or Streamer X?
Streamer X all the way.
Dude your videos are CLEAN AND CRISP. Well done.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you saying that and thanks for taking the time to watch!
Glad I found your video you have a new subscriber just wanted to know if you think the cam link would be good to record a video for a podcast rather than streaming thanks
Definitely a great comparison and I’ve had the same issues with getting the streamer x to work. Not having my hdmi input show up as been the biggest/consistent issue. I do think it’s a perfect device to travel with as an all in one solution. I’m hoping the other issues get addressed to make it more stable
its exciting times & im amazed what we can do today compared to what we could do 10 years ago ... Im sure in a few years time all these issues will be forgotten & there will be the perfect device for creatives to stream a lot easier & with more detail too
Pretty amazing stuff, right? Thanks for watching and showing some love, GTV!
Hi, do you know if the video signal UVC USB output will have the audio baked in from the XLR inputs of the Streamer X or would it be camera audio or a mix of both? (without the unify running)
Also I wonder if this would work with the USB input on something like the yolobox pro . Thanks
Can i use it to make a dual computer streaming set up? my pc being my gaming rig and the mac as the streaming pc. also if both of my HDMI connections will be occupied with the computers where can i connect a camera to it?
I’m trying to figure out how to set up my system for my main RUclips channel. I don’t really stream, but sometimes I do one on one calls that I’d like to be able to use my mirrorless camera instead of my MacBook camera, which really isn’t that bad but it’s not quite as nice
I’m also trying to figure out how to do the audio straight into my camera with an XLR mic instead of just using the shotgun mic I have now
Do you offer one on one calls so I can just figure out what I need to do and what to buy? I’d of course be willing to compensate you for your time. I’ve watched several of these videos and they are helpful, but I just need somebody to tell me exactly what to buy for my specific situation.
Maybe there is a setting on the device that allows you to here output when the mic is on . On the rodecaster I can choose to mute output when mic level is up or not to which the allows me to hear all audio
Useful video--thanks for covering the connectivity issues. It drives me nuts to have the Streamer X not work reliably. I'm throwing it in a drawer. It's too frustrating.
I contacted them and received a new unit that arrived yesterday. I am keeping tabs on it and if it's not fixed, I'll let you all know.
Thanks!
I am running the audio through my camera - then it pops in via the camlink. However - I have a Streamer X incoming as I want to have less devices and I love the Rodecaster Pro 2 effects the Streamer can apply to the XLR mic internally, compressor, big bottom etc are a must for me.
Yea, I think you'll dig this. I have the Rodecaster Pro II as well. It's a great product but overkill for an office set up. This should be a great balance for you and an incredible upgrade in audio quality and control. Would love to know how you like it! Check back in.
Not a fan of Elgato and love Rode to be honest so this is product with the Streamer X that is on my Radar. I am also looking to get a multi purpose device for my Video feed, which is going to be the Sony ZV E10. Already have the Rode Pod mic, so looking and the Rode Boom Arm, so looking to add this.
I have a question so if I plan to live stream high school football games which one will you recommend?
StreamerX and you can put a decent onboard mic on the camera and stream the audio as well through the HDMI port.
Big selling point is the Unify software
Seems like it should be great provided it does what is advertised. Unfortunately, Mac user will have to wait for the full version.
Great intel - thanks, dude!
Hands-on with the Streamer X in my opinion it felt cheap, the plastic had a textureless smooth shiny cheap feeling to it, the pads were hard without tactile feedback, no indication of audio levels. Much prefer the Rodecaster Duo to handle audio (it has built-in compressor, noise gate, de-esser etc) and Elgato 4K X to handle video.
To each their own, Carl. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I have the Rodecaster Pro II as well for larger scale productions. It's great. For smaller things like teaching my classes, this does the job well as an all-in-one unit. I get HDMI, audio interfaces and buttons that I can trigger all in one. Having two different Elgato units, a Streamdeck and other audio interfaces, I like the streamline approach to the X better as it's less clutter on my desk and does the job "good enough" for what I ask it to do at a cheaper price point.
Yeah streamer x is better, the camlink is just for dslr, u can capture anything with streamer x
That’s true. I think it’s a preference and need for people. I still use a CamLink in certain situations.
This is the second video of yours that I watched, the first one mentioned it was going to compare the elgato to this and it did not instead to come to the next video so I came to this one and you don't even show with a difference in video quality between the two, very disappointing. I would assume that most people coming to view a video like this would want to see what the video quality on each one looks like.
Sorry to disappoint you. The video quality is almost entirely dependent on the camera you are using, however.
@@RobertMTeegarden yes but seeing the same camera on each device might give someone a good idea of how each one looks. if i do a microphoen comparrison people will want to hear both of them even tho my voice, room and equipment may be different than theirs. from one youtuber to another, people usually want to see or hear the items being compared in action and if you give a good demonstration people are more likey to come back to watch more of your videos..
Thanks for the perspective. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and share.
@@RobertMTeegarden Sure.. I think the video was good, would have loved to see both as far as audio quality but u know.. i love watching videos about audio gear
