Oh wow - my favourite ff tune - Wonderfully done. Really brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much John!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I think this song sticks with most people that played the original game.
I have a theory that guitars are just extensions of John's body, such amazing cover
Nobuo Uematsu bday was on march 21st, im loving all these ff7 covers your putting out rn, i hope he somehow hears it.
So gorgeous!
Very atmospheric!
This song always to me felt like some super complex emotions that I can't explain
Brilliant rendition! I love how this track has a very disturbing atmosphere, but also gives the feeling of something beautiful and hopeful. The world-building of FF7 is expressed so beautifully in this. Thank you, John.
For sure! It has a lot of mini-sections each with a contrasting mood. Have a good one! 😀
Impressive.
Simplistic yet elegant and calming.
I was very much suprpised when I decided to give Kraftwerk a go and listened to their 1978 track Spacelab
My absolute favorite track in the whole game. This is so lovely, thank you
For the love of Sakaguchi, this is awesome.
damn dude you bout to have the most definitive playlist of this stuff out there. perfect mood.
I just posted this yesterday lol.
Man, the nostalgia hits HARD with this one! Have you thought about covering some of the underrated tracks from the OG like "Desert Wasteland" and some iconic ones like "Forested Temple" & "Listen to the Cries of the Planet?"
Yep! I'm doing a second volume with a bunch more. I've got a Desert Wasteland skeleton arrangement, but I decided to save it for the next volume. Listen to the Cries of the Planey is out on my new album with a video to come soon. It has some cool palm muting parts.
@@JohnOethGuitar oh, that's awesome!
Best ever
I wish I could do this .
Ah yes, Nibelheim
Awesome man, you're my favourite RUclips guitarist.
Happy to hear that, and thanks for being here!
You never fail to impress me John. How long have you played? Im going on 25 years soon and im nowhere near your level. Keep it up and thanks for the awesome cover.
Thanks so much! I think I've been playing for around twenty years.
Sounds increNibel!
I love how some of the secondary chords played sound like a piano in the beginning. Was that your intent, John?
I tried to make the opening chords like the strings in the original. That is a bit difficult on the guitar with a plucked attack. haha
@@JohnOethGuitar I noticed it. Sounded like the piano parts of the original piece
Nice playing and guitar sound brother🎸
So beautiful... It's incredible how much you can do with your guitar only ❤
Oh damn, I actually planned to request it, beat me to it. I like you took an approach that allows for expressing the melody accents and get "emotionally linked" with the piece itself. Love it.
The goosebump level is so crazy intense in this. Unbelievable.
Beautifully done!
Majestic sir! The vibes are so intense in this music.
Takes this already amazing song to an 11
Ah yes, awesome stuff. One of the best tracks in the game, IMO, and for whatever reason one of the tracks that is most firmly linked with FFVII in my mind. It really captures the world of the slums, and also the slightly melancholy feel of the whole game.
I think of it as the second main theme.
Bless you, man, this is fantastic and anxious af.
The implementation of the FF prelude in this theme is so good, always gave Nibel that eerie vibe.
Agreed! I knew I had to include it even though that section is a tad tricky.
@@JohnOethGuitar you did an outstanding job on that, I tip my hat.
Wow I can't believe I never realised those arpeggios could be derivative of the prelude theme :)
Been waiting for this one!
Really conveys the anxiousness! Thank you very much! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️✨
Beautiful arrangement, thanks for all the tunes John!
I got chills when the melody kicked in at 0:50
So beautiful and soulful.
