@@jinrex015 remember playing it back in 2011 for the first time after having elbow surgery and it was so fun. Made my 9 year old self forget the pain for a while
I know it has been a while but, the Flood. Just a detail to know: the flood was actually not defeated by bio-engineering 1/3 of humanity. This actually had no effect on the flood but, they wanted to defer attention from how to combat the flood correctly. Better known as manifesting a false sense of security.
The Faro Plague, Horizon Zero Dawn. Granted it is a different kind of plague than you usual plague but nonetheless it devoured the whole world not just humans.
Before the viral outbreak in WoW, it happened in EverQuest. A viral DoT came out of an expansion's highest raid, and it ravaged its way across Norrath for a while before the devs patched it out.
The flood in halo was not the first plague that can destroy everything. Halo CE came out November 15, 2001, while Homeworld Cataclysm came out the year prior in 2000. Cataclysm featured "The Beast" which was a entity that came from another dimension accidentally and is Techno-organic so it can take over both machines and organic stuff, usually using organic tissue for organic circutry. It can infect through a "infection beam" at great distance. Oh and it gets smarter the more organic material it consumes.
I've I've watched and read lots of Halo lore and the flood is one of the most efficient deadly and scary parasites / disease and all of gaming tho necromorphs would be a 2nd on my list
luis perron The Faro Plague was a group of machines from the Chariot line developed by Faro Industries. This particular group of machines had a glitch in them that made them stop responding to commands and they started only answering to themselves. The Chariot line had abilities to replicate themselves at a fast rate and could also convert organic matter into fuel in emergencies. So what happened is the glitched, unresponsive machines defaulted to using only biomass as their fuel source, started consuming large amounts of organic matter, and replicated themselves rapidly to create more glitched machines that would also consume biomass and create more glitched machines. They couldn’t be destroyed for two reasons. First, their programming couldn’t be fixed-in order to make them impossible to hack into, they had been designed with difficult encryption that would take decades to crack and with no manual over ride. Secondly, the machines could instantly hack and take over other machines so any machines sent to destroy them would be taken over-including other Chariot line machines. This is how they were able to turn the planet into a sterile wasteland within a year or so.

Yeah, that makes sense..."
“The FARO plaque” from horizon zero dawn. It completely wiped out humanity
A plaque is "an ornamental tablet fixed to a wall or other surface in commemoration of a person or an event" and can't do any of that stuff.
Dude is just a corruption of a robot so it dosent fit here.
8:08 thought he said Coronavirus
Lol same
Same
How
coronavirus did exist before covid-19. its a type of virus. not A virus
william smith I think most people know that, they just call it coronavirus anyway, and everyone knows that they mean COVID-19. I say corona too
The last of us I can’t wait for the second one
Same here
Seanski 75 well do I have news for u
Yes finally
I'm actually writing a story about A Plague tale: Innocence!
Who?
Okay
10th "virus" : Ant gets eaten by ape, ape gets virus but nothing happens, without knowing contracting the virus to humans
?
I am happy resistance, last of us and prototype games were mentioned in this video
edited: added prototype and last of us
@@kjohansen4088 lol what? Where did I mention that?
If prototype's infection isn't on the list I'm unsubbing
Don't worry my fellow fan, it is here.
I was going to type this, that game is so underrated.

It was a much worse purge.
The Kara from subnautica was fairly interesting. Especially since your character was infected with it and it ties into the story very well.
Everything: *Exists*
The FEV: “Am I a joke to you?”
Nicholas Villanueva Lol. No one ever mentions fallout and is under rated.
But thw FEV has a cure 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Tiny Table Wargames So do most, like The Flood
who else was surprised to see dying light on this list?
Me lol
Ummm...hi?

Imagine making a top 10 worst plagues list without mentioning "your mom" from Plague Inc.
The Faro Plague, Horizon Zero Dawn. Granted it is a different kind of plague than you usual plague but nonetheless it devoured the whole world not just humans.
Finally, another Horizon fan!
that plague was the reason for the post apocalyptic setting in the first place.
I loved the Horizon ZD story. I want to get my PS4 back from my friend so I can play the story again.
Also, FUCK TED FARO!!!!
You know how falcon hasn't played Dying Light: "Anteezin"
Lol
Ikr. It is "Antizen" is how it is pronounced but spelled Antizin
Before the viral outbreak in WoW, it happened in EverQuest. A viral DoT came out of an expansion's highest raid, and it ravaged its way across Norrath for a while before the devs patched it out.
The heartbreaking infection of hollow knight when we see myla slowly loose herself, and find out how this kingdom fell
Suggestion, try putting the game titles in the description and time stamps so we can avoid spoilers.
Idk if you can call it spoilers since most of these games have been out for at least 5 years
3:44 Amicia, not Amica lmao.
Aside that, great informative video and choice of games!
Gotta love how spot on RUclips recommendations are
It feels like the brood mothers need to be mentioned if we're talking about the darkspawn taint.
Jraice V Ghouls too!
I think Matt said it best with, it's a bio-curse.
"You play as Amica" Excuse me? Amica?:D
I got recommended this on the 28th of June 2020. During the COVID-19 outbreak.
What about the iteration of the “Spanish Flu” from Vampyr?
"You play as AMICUUHHHHH" proof that the writers don't pay much attention to the games they write about.
ckotherletters i thought i was the only one that noticed that
Felt the same about"Ant-TEEE-zin".
"Anteee zin"
The T-Virus would like to know your location
love how im watching this during the corona virus outbreak....
3:44 "AMIKKA" You do know it's Amicia? (Ah-mee-see-ah)
Was just about to comment that
Lol i was also going comment about it.
Yeah listening to him butcher her sweet name into whatever the hell he thought it was.....was just so horrible to watch 🤐
It's not a big deal, get over it.
If you told me that an RTS game would manage to scare me, I'd scoff at the thought. Cataclysm proved me wrong.
I've I've watched and read lots of Halo lore and the flood is one of the most efficient deadly and scary parasites / disease and all of gaming tho necromorphs would be a 2nd on my list
“Becoming corrupted by the taint” is something I never thought I’d hear
You forgot the infestation in Warframe
"When you enter yharnam it will not be long till it's a coffin door your nocken on" is what was going on in my head on number 5
HZD's Faro Plague! It's a non-traditional plague, but super interesting and scary to say the least.
I was hoping this would be on the list!
Forgive me but isn't that more of a technological singularity thing gone rogue? Or am I completely wrong. I only know what I read.
luis perron The Faro Plague was a group of machines from the Chariot line developed by Faro Industries.
This is how they were able to turn the planet into a sterile wasteland within a year or so.
this gives me mega nostalgia. I remember killing the flood in halo. When I was 5.. with my dad
