18 years career infantry and yes every competent one actually does to some extent. It's generally taught to new shooters when we train them with irons and at longer ranges. Even professional sharpshooters for sport do. Tho for them the go to is to tint/put tape over one lenses of their shooting glasses because it lessens eye strain compared to closing the eye. The only time training generally stresses having 2 eyes open is CQB because the situational awareness is important and that's generally done with reflex and holographic sights anyway. In fact one method we use was to make you train with just your non-dominate eye by covering your dominant one with a patch. This both helps you get used to shooting with both open and with one for an instance where your dominate eyes is injured. In fact recently a lot of the time we have also tried to start including training with the non-dominant hand as well. It's the opposite with sharpshooting tho. When I was training for 0317 they would chastise you for keeping both open with optics even if you could shoot that way.

videos like this make you really appreciate the work of game developers
I love that Deacons pupils change size depending on the light in the environment in Days Gone
The mil-dots changing in Apex is actually very useful. They are changing to keep your scope accurate. Where you need to aim changes because of bullet drop over a distance. Not only that but aiming up or down at extreme angles changes where you have to point your crosshair even if the distance doesn't change.
dude the transition at 1:49 is beautiful
What is the game at *1:48*
Dear falcon. You are what makes gameranx so enjoyable. Please keep up the great work and I’m a huge fan.
Me: Dude I’m working on Modern Warfare!
Friends: Cool! What part are you working on?
Me, sweats profusely: GOTTA GO
Also me: Now, time to get back to making foldable chair physics!
DMC & Control, just because u mentioned my 2 favorites, u got urself a new subscriber (Great video btw)
The live action cutscenes remind me of Alan Wake. Loved to watch them there.
I remember when Assassin's Creed II first came out I was obsessed with the fact that Ezio would reset his Cape if you didn't do any high profile actions after a while. I thought it was the coolest shit ever.
I loved how your followers reacted to certain actions and locations you visited in Greedfall. It’s something we don’t see enough of in games and that game does a good job of letting you know where everyone stands based on your actions.
I've always gotten across one ladder on my motorcycle in d.s. even up hill slightly. You just need your 2 front tires spread evenly.
This dude seriously just said that the Shyyyo bird “didn’t serve any purpose”
That confused me too.
Yeah ikr
I loved Jedi The Fallen Order but god damn returning to ship was hardest part of every mission in game
Take a shot every time Falcon says "but sticking with"
Not only is Control just an AMAZING game. But those cut scenes made me think about the show Lost allllll the time. I absolutely loved it.
In days gone, you can see deacon changing gears in his bike. I really like that subtle detail
The sound of free wheeling down hill in melting snow, also well done.
It is one of the few games I don't mind fast travel.
Oh yeah that was a game
I loved all of the detailed attachments in modern warfare, the fact that u really get to see all of them on your guns unlike lots of games, all of the variety of the attachments, it really helped to make the type of player the gun they needed for how they wanted to go about playing
“Let’s talk about the weather”
I love the line in Mortal Kombat 11 when Raiden and Johnny ranted about who's get more paid, and it also be much more realistic if you change skin of both into '95 film version
The “bird” on kashyyyk is a very important factor of fallen order.
Loool right? He spoke like it was just a cosmetic in the background. It's actually mandatory to progressing the story.
Dude I love the transition you made at 01:47 made me look twice lol
19 closing the eye - no military ever trains you to shoot like that.
....the british do...😂
The French train to shoot with both eyes closed.
@@tbrhunter and with both hands in the air
No sight picture or sight alignment at 300 meters?
When I moved from Orlando, Florida to Atlanta and the late 90s. I remember crossing over the border into Valdosta, Georgia and gas was $0.94 a gallon. The good old days.
1:16. You're taught in the military to not close your eye when aiming as when using scopes you can close the lid to make yourself more concealed but still see the dot in the scope.
Source: Was in the military.
0:22 we can see this detail in MOH Warfighter which is a much older game than MW.
Yeah you can tell who hasn't been gaming for long. A lot of these "insane details" are in several games pre-2010.
@@TheCuriousNoob yup
when you aim a gun you are NOT supposed to close an eye.... soldier's especially wouldn't have this habit
No you aren't lololol you obviously know nothing. Or your taught by a backwards hillbilly..
I know of some that do shut one eye, guess it depends who the soldier is
I know that military snipers especially are taught to shoot with both eyes open
Entirely depends on your optic and what your goals are.
Another cool thing about COD MW: when pistol mag is depleted, while changing the mag, you can see that the barrel actually lifts up like irl. It’s much more noticeable with a suppressor. Try it, you’ll see
Actually most military personnel are trained to keep both eyes open
Ssssssshhhhhhh.
Nobody caaaaaaares~
1:54
Whatever did those chairs do to you?
“Giant Bird things”
Bro those things are the only form of semi-fast travel in the game, they take u from the top to the bottom of the tree of origins
In Apex, the visuals act like your eyes are dilated when transitioning from a darker area like indoors to a bright area. Things in the distance are washed out and as your eyes adjust things become visible. I love this detail.
I remember when there was no falcon. Now it’s always falcon. I mean I’m not complaining but I miss jake sometimes, basically only see him on Friday.
Falcon, by far the best reviewer on the planet. And big props for the days gone horde compliments. That game deserves so much more attention from quality reviewers like your self. Falcon for the win!
ps: The mario button has been called that since the first luigi's mansion
Thanks for spoiling things that would have surprised me while playing 🙏
Pretty sure u CANNOT "wave ur blade over an open fame" and set it on fire in Sekiro, u actually need Living Force to do fire blade.
I like the fact that you can turn your head when you look from side to side in dauntless
You shouldn't close an eye when your shoot, unless you're using a telescopic scope.
Predator Ex in the military you’re taught to keep both eyes open when taking aim
Tyler, have you tried shooting a dog target at 300 meters with both eyes open?
@@washnunya 99% of the comments here from people complaining about closing one eye are from armchair shooters so I doubt he even knows what a dog target is.
In DMC 5 while playing with V and summon the golem they made him environmental interactive like appearing by coming thru the wall next to you ... now that is awesome.
Also, in Apex all characters have a different walking animation xD
Oooh i love that feeling when i go out after a long gaming session and everything in the real world looks a bit sweeter and too realistic... just makes me appreciate the 'graphics' of the real world
Now, if a single game could combine all of those details at once...
It would take forever to combine all of these details
Bethesda could pull it off,but after fallout 76 they might not.
Devil May Cry 5 is the masterpiece sequel we needed. I'm so glad it's as badass and as beautiful as it is.
*"I'd like to talk to the Flower, Bird, Wind & Moon bookie."*
In call of duty they have the eye close when you aim in. Which is actually less affective than when you have both your eyes open
Days Gone is the most underrated game of 2019. Nothing going to change my mind.
Something that shooters have seem to forgotten even though it was implemented 10 years ago is ammo counters including the round in the chamber. I played so much battlefield 3 and that was one of my favorite little details.
Is the sekiro one true? Kinda feel like its wrong and they didnt even have a clip for it
If you shot arrows through lit braziers in Assassin's creed odyssey they could also do fire damage. Environmental interaction in this sort of way is pretty neat.
