The tape thing is such a clever idea! I've never thought of doing that before, somehow, I just eyeball it and get annoyed. Most of my dolls that have body blushing anymore are too small for sueding of any kind (unless there's some SUPER thin faux suede out there and I haven't seen it), but I'm tempted to try sueding my bigger dolls again now... Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad you found it helpful! I definitely couldn't eyeball it haha To my understanding, you CAN make suede thinner with a blade, and you basically cut away the non-furry side little by little. If you look up "ways to thin leather" you can use the same techniques. Definitely worth experimenting on 😂😂
This is great! I just finished a fantasy doll and put it together and realized the blushing was going to get rubbed off. I’m gonna take her part and suede her just like this. Thank you!
Wonderful tutorial. I find traditional surfing works especially well for tiny dolls and dolls with odd joint shapes where hot glue suedeing just isn't practical to use. Its also usefull for helping to add contact for dolls with poorly designed joints that can't hold in-between poses very well.
