You have a festival celebrating trees? That's cool! And I'm definitely a stone fruit lover. Plums, peaches nectarines, mangoes, cherries. I love them all. And nuts from trees are great too. We always have almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts in the house.
Hello Chana! Just wanted to share a few words of appreciation for your work here in RUclips. Your channel is very educational and fun. I particularly love to see your dedication and all the love you show to your family with everything you do. You are a blessing. Thank you for your hard work and thank you for sharing these videos with us ❣️
I also agree wholeheartedly and add my appreciation to this comment too. I had no knowledge of this holiday but I think it is a beautiful thing to do, celebrating the bounty in Creation that our Father has gifted us. I was thrilled to see the pomegranate @Chana as I was only reading about them as a design on clothing in the Bible this week.
This plates looked delicious! Maybe we should all get into the habit of celebrating what fruits trees give us. Maybe we’ll be more appreciative of them.
Didn’t realize there were so many holidays in Judaism. Thanks for sharing your life and faith. It’s nice to see your children getting involved and learning about their faith and culture. The fruit platters looked delicious.
One thing I am learning from your channel is that in Judaism, your life revolves around G-d. All the holidays, “rules”, your clothing, the foods you eat- point you to G-d and keep your mind and heart on Him. It is so beautiful! The fruit feast looks great!! I was curious about that yellow horned fruit with the green inside too! I love cotton candy grapes! But they are expensive and you can’t find them all the time.
I can't believe Central Market doesn't have kosher meats! I swear, I could get lost in there and spend an entire day just wandering among the aisles.... it's one of my Happy Places. Thank you for sharing your day with us, Chana. You always make me smile.
It’s such a great store! And they have lots of great gluten free foods we do t find elsewhere. But the lack of kosher meats and cheeses makes it not super practical to go there often

Hi, sweet Chana! This marks one year since I've been watching your videos. What a blessing you are to me! Thank you for sharing your beautiful life. 🫂💗🙏
What a happy Tu'Bshvat Party! Those platters were set up so pretty! Looked like you were eating at a hotel! I loved that your son was setting up the platters with you. Great skill to learn and great quality time. Blessings from Israel!

Oh, my favorite food from trees...I think would be nuts, citrus and avocados. It's super hard to pic just one. I've recently began using dates to sweeten baked goods as well. I had no idea what a powerhouse of nutrition they were until I started watching Jewish cooking videos.
What a wonderful world! Your fruit platters Channa are a work of art. I enjoyed seeing how much fun the kids had helping. My children are already teenagers and even they love to help and do things in the kitchen on their own. Sometimes to surprise me 😅. Wish you a blessed shabbes 😊 Lea
I don’t know why I got a little emotional watching this video...I love trees and nature and the way you so lovingly prepared the fruit and nut platters was beautiful to witness....Thanks for another great video....🙏
All the fruit looks so good. I love pomegranate and every time I cut would get juice all over my clothes. I was told by a friend of mine that grows them to cut them in a bowl full of water and the whole mees is avoided. I have tried it a couple of times and my clothes are staying clean. I hope you had a wonderful holiday 😍🥰😃

That was fantastic. Thank you for sharing. Figs, olives, grapefruit are my favorites.🥰 I've never tried the star fruit or the prickly fruit. 😳 My grandson has a similar dino jacket as your little one. 🥰
Hey Chana, I really enjoyed this video, especially the end when you all were sitting around the table. Your husband has a nice calming voice. My favorite food from trees are apples, golden pears /asian pears, cherries, walnuts, pecans, peaches just to name a few. I thought was cute when the kids were requesting balloons also. Hehe. Your platters were so colorful. Thank you for sharing parts of your life with us!
It looks like a very nice holiday! Although I think it would be nice to have one about eating cookies all day long, it could be called Tu BisCuit 🍪 just joking of course 😃 I think it's nice you have holidays which are connected to the the natural cycle of growing things. I am a Polish catholic and we thank for the crops on the holiday of the Assumption of Virgin Mary, but it is more a part of folk tradition (because the holiday falls in the middle of August) connected to the holiday and the real theological meaning of it has nothing to do with crops 😁
Beautiful video! The fruit platters were gorgeous, all the colors made them look so appetizing. I think your son is developing a love of cooking and it is a good skill to have. I hope you are feeling well and are now past your nausea. Blessings to you and yours!
What beautiful platters! I learn so much from your channel-thank you for putting so much work into your videos, I know it isn't easy. But you bless so many people through it! :)
This is a great holiday. I love how you educate your children about fruit and trees and how blessed we are to have this abundance in life! Keep making great content! 👍😁

Another great educational video! You have a great talent for picking out music that adds the perfect touch to go along with your activities. It was so fun watching you and your son prepare the platters. I feel so relaxed after watching you. Have a great week Chana!
Your video made me think how many I could think of…coconut, maple syrup, peaches, wine lol and plums. Loved the video and plan on talking to my grandkids about the subject.
This was very interesting to watch and learn. The way you arranged your trays looked so good. I love your daughter’s curly hair. I have naturally curly hair. I never appreciated it until I got much older and learned how to properly care for it. If you ever need a good shampoo for curly hair I suggest “Not Your Mother’s” Curl Talk shampoo and conditioner. It’s awesome, less frizz and less frustration. Thank you for sharing these videos with us.
@@jaroffireflies You are very welcome! Also, be careful of what comb or brush you use in her hair. A hair pick or wide tooth comb is good. A wet brush is great for after washing hair. Plus, using Luke warm water is best to wash curly hair than hot water. I have learned so much about how to care for my naturally curly hair now that I appreciate it. ❤️❤️
Your channel has taught me so much that when I saw the title, I immediately knew what happens on this holiday :) My favourite fruit would have to be bajan cherries followed closely by grapefruits. Fun fact - I cannot stand mango! My family wants to revoke my island girl card lol
Thank you! The music I use most often is called Blue Mountaons by Gabriel Witcher. If that’s not what you’re looking for let me know the time mark and I’ll look up the music :)
This is a beautiful holiday. I noticed why I like the Jewish religion so much while learning from your videos, Chana. One reason is that Nature has an importance and the creation of it is actually celebrated?! This is (one of the many reasons) why I abandoned Christianity for good after just one year of "believing" (grew up free of religion, started exploring religions as a teenager): *Where is the appreciation for the Earth as Gods creation, the very Earth where we are allowed to live on, live off and co-exist with?* I am sad that I missed out on exploring more of the Jewish religion, or never learned more about it in school, only the false insight that Jewish religion is just a "vol.1" of Christianity, almost the same just without Jesus (that's really how they taught us, very cringeworthy, thank Heaven that I am a person who eventually gets curious about things), this why I did not bother to find out more about the Jewish religion much earlier. :( Aaaaand now I am really hungry for some fruits (even when the fructose intolerance says no) :D
YOU are such an inspiration to everyone.! I have a daughter ( she just turned 30 in December) that reminds me of YOU. Same sweet spirit, Same sweet personality, Same sweet family values. Same sweet disposition . You two actually look very much alike........ She is my only girl of 4 children! I feel as if YOU could be my daughter. Thank you for sharing and teaching US.... non Jews of your lifestyle. I LOVE to watch your videos and I always learn from you.....never too old to learn is what I say! Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!!!!! Nothing like NEW life to heal the loss....... I LOVE you and what your channel is giving others. I truly hope your " pregnancy sickness" gets better soon for you, but you are beautiful inside and out and you and the baby will be blessed.
Hi Channa, so glad you showed us those beautiful platers full of fruits. Never see such a display!!! We also plant trees in Tu Vishbat, but in Israel. When I lived in Argentina I remember to donate to KKL to plant trees on our name in Israel on Tu Vishbat. Do you know if its only in Israel? My favorite fruit....all of them beside the grapefruit and orange. Love❤
This sounds like such a fun (and delicious) celebration! I keep thinking of ways to slip in other food options - banana pancakes made with almond flour and served with cinnamon and maple syrup 😋
Tu b’shbat is not about consuming fruit based foods. It’s about celebrating the new year for the trees by consuming fruits in their natural state (fresh ir simply dried), preceded by blessing G-d for the gift of the fruit of the trees. Tarts, compotes, cookies and other concoctions do not belong to this particular Jewish religious celebration. The blessings for prepared foods do not belong to this Holiday. After eating the fruits (preferably those traditional to the land of Israel), any kind of meal may follow, subject to the participants’ appetite - or lack thereof.
When you were showing your haul I was thinking it didn’t look like much but it certainly looked like plenty on the serving trays! Lol I love how you served the fruits. So pretty. Did there end up being any that you or your children didn’t care for?
Hi from Louisiana!! That’s awesome that your son is a Cub Scout. My son is 18 and is an Eagle Scout. I just love watching your channel. I am Catholic but love learning the Jewish religion!! I am also a homeschool mom!
Hi Chana Thanks for another interesting video today 😊 The fruit platters looked amazing. I am curious, the melon that had the bumps on the outside and looked green in the inside.. what did that taste like? Did you all like it? I hope you have a great day! Lesley
What a great way to celebrate the holiday. There is not a fruit that I don’t like. I have never eaten a star fruit or the one that was yellow on the outside and green inside. I did not catch the name of it. As you were showing your food haul, it did not look like much for a family of 5, but after cutting it up and plating it, it was more than enough. I need to look for those pigless pork rinds.
I’ve learned that when I buy a little of a lot, it ends up going a long way :) That and I hate over buying fruit where it goes to waste! My son loves those piglets pork rinds so much that I’ve never even gotten to try them lol
Everything looked so beautiful. I grew up in a reform household so know very little about the holidays. I've learned a lot from watching you. Your children are so sweet and well behaved. You are a wonderful wife and mother.
@@jaroffireflies Peaches cooked with maple syrup are lovely too! There’s definitely loads of ways you can incorporate it into your spread! But you’ll have to be sure to spring for the real stuff. Mrs.Butterworth’s table syrup definitely isn’t coming from any tree haha 😂 Ah well, ideas for next year! Thanks for sharing Chana!
That looks amazing! I may actually do this this weekend. We are Lutheran so I will add some meat, cheese and crackers, but this is right up my kids alley. We often have "silly" dinner. An easy night where I pull out the fruit and veggie trays I prep for the week and then I make a few sandwiches cut up and graze on a big cutting board and just chat. Adding some of the fruits you showed would be a huge treat and fun! Thank you for sharing your faith and traditions. It's awesome to learn and understand and teach my kiddos. I may play your video so they can understand more as well

Thank you so much for sharing such a great tradition with us. In South India, we have a holiday called pongal, which celebrates the rice harvest. I am a Gentile but I can’t seem to get enough Judaism in my life. I’m pretty sure I was a Jew many times in past life’s. Everything about being Jewish fascinates me.
Hi! I have a question or two I guess. One, can or have you done a video explain kosher and what that means? And also I know you had said in a video that bugs weren't kosher, so how are figs kosher since they have need a bee to essentially die in them to grow? I'm not at all religious so this stuff is so interesting to me and I'm sorry if my questions are ignorant or rude!
I'm sure you already know but in case you don't, please make sure Bella doesn't get ahold of any grapes or raisins. They are toxic to dogs and can even be instantly life threatening.
What’s your favorite food from trees? 🌳 🌲 🌴

Thank you! Everyone (including me 😂) had something we didn’t care for, but someone else would want it so it all got eaten :)
Ooh next year you guys should add maple syrup, suggestion from a Canadian fan 🇨🇦🍁
I definitely want to!
Channa my mouth was watering at all that delicious fruit. I could almost taste it. 🤤🌹❤️Ireland x
Cherries 🍒🍒
Yum! That’s define if my favs!
What a great holiday! As a nature study lover, I love the trees’ birthday! Maybe we can do something for it too.
Hi from Louisiana!! That’s awesome that your son is a Cub Scout. My son is 18 and is an Eagle Scout. I just love watching your channel. I am Catholic but love learning the Jewish religion!! I am also a homeschool mom!
So cool! Thanks so much for being here!
I like this tradition! It's fun, and it educates. Thank you for making this video.
Hi Chana
Thanks for another interesting video today 😊
The fruit platters looked amazing.
I am curious, the melon that had the bumps on the outside and looked green in the inside.. what did that taste like? Did you all like it?
I hope you have a great day!
Lesley
To me it didn’t have much of a taste but my son really loved it!
Love your "hair"
Lol thank you!
@@jaroffireflies i just found them on Amazon. They have different flavors and snack size.
@@123scrappygirl great!
@@123scrappygirl this fruit has got several names: horned melon, kiwano, African horned cucumber, jelly melon, or melano 😀
Everything looked so beautiful. I grew up in a reform household so know very little about the holidays. I've learned a lot from watching you. Your children are so sweet and well behaved. You are a wonderful wife and mother.
Thank you so much 💖
What a great celebration! Such pretty presentation, and so healthy, too. So glad the kids are involved and enjoy it.
I see, I click.
Thank you 💖😊
Maybe my Canadian is showing but…maple syrup?
Many brands of Maple syrup are not kosher as they block the spouts with lard.
So many suggestions for maple syrup! I wish I’d have thought of that! Like some maple syrup almonds or something! How fun would that be?
@@jaroffireflies Peaches cooked with maple syrup are lovely too! There’s definitely loads of ways you can incorporate it into your spread! But you’ll have to be sure to spring for the real stuff. Mrs.Butterworth’s table syrup definitely isn’t coming from any tree haha 😂 Ah well, ideas for next year! Thanks for sharing Chana!
@@alixwithani8250 oh that sounds delicious!
Oranges
Dates
Great video, the fruit looks wonderful. How do you eat pomegranate? I thought it had seeds inside completely.
That’s what we eat! We leave the pulp and pick out the tasty juicy seeds to munch on :) They are also great in salads
I may play your video so they can understand more as well
So fun! Enjoy! I love the idea of teaching the kids along with the meal!
Well my favorite fruit from a tree would probably be an apple...boring me.lol I love all kinds of nuts. I must say that your fruit plates looked yummy!!
Hey we love apples too! They are pretty much always in our fruit basket :)
Thank you for another educating video. And you are absolutely right, the Yogi Stress Relief tea is very delicious. I have some at home and I enjoyed them very much as I am a major tea drinker. 😊
A wonderful celebration! How do you handle all the fruit with your son's diabetes? I am a type 2 diabetic and that much fruit would spike my numbers.
We just dose him for it :) Type 1 doesn’t make insulin but has no problem with resistance
Thank you so much for sharing such a great tradition with us. In South India, we have a holiday called pongal, which celebrates the rice harvest. It’s the only time of year when we eat newly harvested rice. The rest of the year we use what was harvested the previous year.
Btw,I love your son’s dinosaur coat! So cute!
Soo cool! I love how you guys made it a teaching event as well 💜💜
Great video as usual! Do your children react differently when you wear your wig? You look beautiful both ways of course but it’s such a change :-)
Thanks Lisa! My kids don’t comment either way :) They are used to seeing me switch it up
THANK YOU CHANA FOR SHARING THE FRUITS ALL LOOKED DELICIOUS I LOVE DATES ,OLIVES, MANGOS BY THE WAY I HAVE AN AUNT NAME CHANA SHE IS IN HER 90'S🥰🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🐝
This sounds like such a lovely holiday! A celebration of trees sounds magical and sweet! Beautiful way to honor them and I loved learning about this! Much love always 🥰
It was perfect! It’s such an underrated holiday in my opinion but I just love it
Sounds lovely
Your husband should be cooking more on this channel. I just made the Moroccan fish stew it was delicious. Can he show us more recipes please.
Love your fall, Chana ❤️
Thank you Karen!
I love peaches. This video was fun. I thought your trays looked delicious.
