I love this video thank you! I am not Jewish, but have been head "covering" with headbands for a while on and off. Just awesome to see the options because I have been wanting to try and cover more! Thank you
Love that you end explaining it's your choice. I don't cover for religious reasons BUT I am a very conservative Christian. LOL... like you, I wear bandanas a lot, and agree they're great for the house, not so much for going out. I have a lot of silk scarves, which NEVER go out of style, that I can't wait to try.
Wow, thank you! I've watched a lot of scarf tying tutorials, but you explained it so well and I feel like I understand the rectangle style better! I always struggled with that one. The twisted rectangle style looks so lovely on you!
Great tutorial! I really like the one with the 2/3 wrap. I’ll have to look into the covering that you use underneath. I have found that the one I use slips off. Thank you and Shabbat Shalom.
Loved the sari scarf. The colors are so beautiful. Thanks, for demonstrating these. It would be so helpful for cancer patients; my sister wore a baseball cap, which isn't necessarily all purpose. This would have been useful.
I don’t typically cover my hair, , but I did go through breast cancer about 4 years ago. I struggled with wigs I hated and scarves I didn’t know how to tie! I wish I would have known about the volumizer, that would have been a game changer. Thank you for sharing, I just love your videos and a small glimpse into your life.
Very interesting, Chana! My favorite is the very last one. It looks beautiful on you/is also a very beautiful scarf .I have learned so much from your videos.
You have inspired me to start on a hair covering journey. Doing large headbands for now. I have colored my hair for YEARS and I’m just so tired of it. I think I’m a little young to be totally gray headed (which is what my roots are telling me!) So I am covering my hair while the gray grows out. Then I will assess whether I color again or keep with hair covering or be totally natural! I have learned a lot from the Wrapunzel website!! One video I really appreciate is that they say Jewish women are not offended when other women cover their hair, regardless of the reasons. That it’s more of a woman thing, a sisterhood so to speak. What do you think? I think hair covering can be beautiful on women!
Thank you! I don’t have great hair anyway. Always wear it in a ponytail. When you said in a video that you never have to fix your hair….I was sold!!! Lol! But I also have deeper, more meaningful reasons to cover besides these. Thanks for the encouragement! ❤️
Last night, I was looking for information about prayer shoals, and then I felt so blessed when I came across a very extensive explanation about why godly women should wear head covering. 😇
Most of your scarves bring out the color in your eyes - beautiful. I have hazel eyes myself. I remember one year in grade school. The teacher had us tell each other what color our eyes were. I kept asking people, nobody knew. So, I asked my teacher, and he said hazel, green/brown eyes.
I love how versatile the headscarves are; casual to elegant to blinged up with the cool kokoshnik looking headband. I hope you all are staying warm today!
Wrapunzel has such beautiful scarves, and they have a wonderful selection of sari scarves too, which is my personal favorite because they are colorful and versatile!
Great video, I cover my hair all the time because of my choosing and I love it also. Hair covering is now so popular that you can now find them everywhere Including Walmart and Target maybe not in great numbers but in winter they will have a small supply.
Wrapunzel has sari scarves! That's where I get all of my scarves! I would like to find a place that sells snoods that don't look like berets! I also find using a volumizer in summer keeps my hair off my neck & out of my face & is actually cooler ... at least for me! Thanks for this video!
I’m very happy you made sure to explain that nobody forces you to cover your hair. I’m a Christian. Many Christian women cover their hair because of verses in I Corinthians 11 that say a woman should not pray with her head uncovered. The whole chapter is discussing hair, actually, even saying that men should not have long hair. I choose NOT to cover my hair, because verse 15 says, “…. but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.” So MY understanding of it is yes my head should be covered when I pray, but my hair IS the covering. And if my hair is my “glory”, it does not make sense to cover it up. Lots of people have different understandings of this chapter. We are each responsible before God, to obey what and how WE understand scripture. (Romans 14 discusses this.) The interesting part is scripture does NOT define “how short” men must have their hair, or “how long” women’s hair must be. And it never says “women don’t ever cut your hair”. It’s OUR attitude of obedience that matters, and God wants us to have a heart for Him, just like you, Chana, always show a beautiful attitude of love and obedience for God. I think this shows that God does not force us to do things but loves us to love and CHOOSE obedience to Him. Your videos are an inspiration of that.
Hi Chana! Love them all. I do have questions as a woman. 1. Has covering your hair frequently impacted your natural hair? 2. I dont cover my hair but do where it pulled back alot, do you encounter headaches from having scarves, Headbands, and your hair pulled back? 3. Last one, which may be better for the hubby q and a.😉 does your husband has a favorite head covering that you wear? Thanks a bunch. Love Learning about your family and faith.
Ooh I like your traditional scarf look but love the multiple ways you wear the longer rectangular scarves. Love how these styles don’t involve lots of Bobbi pens, etc.
I had to run many errands today before our big snowstorm later, and it was such a pleasure to get home and sit and listen to your soothing voice. I’m glad you featured the beautiful shimmery green scarf; my favorite! God Bless you and your family 🙏
Well, you've rescued my wrap game. I was making things way too complicated. But currently, I'm in a more vintage square scarf style. So, basically your green one, but smaller. But honestly, I think it was because I was just tired of re-wrapping. It's so interesting to see how simple it is. I usually only wrap and cover at home, so I can keep my hair loose. (You have 1000s of followers. I'm the weird Apostolic Pentecostal one who keeps her hair up as a gift to her future husband on our wedding night, as I'm divorced (my choice/conviction, not the norm in my church)) And now that I've met the future husband, he thinks it's awesome that I keep my hair up, and said he wishes he could see me in a scarf. He values the gift, and I think it's pretty cool to be able to tell you and G*d thank you for helping me discover, and encouraging, a level of modesty and connection to the Creator who can number the hairs on our heads that just *feels* right. Like you said, it's your choice.
I’m Apostolic Pentecostal as well and probably described as the weird lady that wears the head scarves 🤣. I’ve been covering/wrapping for over a year now. I don’t think I’ll ever go back. ❤️
@@amjz77 now that's extra encouraging. It's definitely something that I wish more women seemed open to. I wish I was bold enough to wear mine outside the house with my entire head covered, but a lot of times, I let the messy bun show if I'm going to wear a wrap to the store. But my conviction is to just keep my hair up in front of men, so I have some fun with them with a high bun. I imagine though, that over time, I'll probably be the lady with the scarves outside of more than just my block.
@@kaitlynwert6673 it took me some time to get used to as well. I started with the headbands and the Sarai singles and then transitioned to a full scarf at home only. After a while, I just went for it! It felt so right for me that I came to a place where I didn’t care what others thought about it. I got lots of looks and talked about, but it didn’t outweigh what I felt. 🙌🏻
@@amjz77 something about it just feels right. I was so excited by this video yesterday that I ended up figuring out how to do a double crown with a long rectangular scarf and almost fell asleep in it.
Hi Chana, thanks for this video! I am not Jewish so I don’t have that reason for wanting to cover my hair but there have been many times that I wished I knew how to do this so I _could_ cover my hair, even for just a bad hair day. I love large, colorful scarves and I have a huge collection of them. I will have to give some of these techniques a try. Thanks for sharing!!
So glad this was helpful for you! Especially that first style with the square scarf folded is a great and comfortable way to cover your hair and keep hair out of the way :)

I'm one, of I'm sure many, new viewers and I'm Catholic, not that that is important ...... we are women enjoying our lives!
In Israel they have lots of updated scurff tieing styles. One of the styles that has been going for a while is actually tieing it on top of your head in the middle and having half faking back, lots of scurff have some kind of a frindge or tassels at the edges for a cooler look
There r sooooooo many I didn't know which to choose from but here is a nice option I thought u might like. Worth writing in you tube קשירת מטפחות. ruclips.net/video/3hwFfz4TLqI/видео.html
Good morning Chana. I really enjoyed your video. I have always wondered how you tie the scarf to keep it on. I hope you are starting to feel better from all of the morning sickness!! Have a wonderful and blessed Shabbat and I'll see you Monday
Iv always wondered how you tied the green scarf , you suit all of them and you make it look so easy , after nearly 18 years I still end up tying my clumsy fingers to the scarf as I tie it behind my head lol . So enjoy watching your videos , hope your starting to feel better and more energised .
I so enjoy watching you as you share your pretty head coverings, Chana. Recently I became convicted to wear a veil at Mass. Well it kept slipping and I felt I was being a distraction as I fiddled with it. After Mass I asked another lady how she kept her veil in place. Well I found out that you can sew a little comb into the front that will anchor it. In fact, two veils I ordered have the option to have them sewn in before you receive them. Yes Please.:) Isn't it good that we can all share tips and tricks that make life easier. I think you look lovely in your head coverings. Like you, it is something I choose. Not everyone else does it at our church but I need to follow my convictions. Have a blessed day!!
The "poof" and velvet bands have been a game changer! No more slipping scarves lol my favorite is a square>triangle with the back corner tucked in and then the two ends wrapped loosely around the bun and tucked back in. Hair stays out of the way. the only problem I've been having it my hairline goes very far down my neck and will frizz out the bottom back throughout the day
The way you normally cover your hair brings back memories of watching my grandma get ready in the morning. Absolutely loved this! The more colorful the scarf the better in my opinion! The colors really bring out your eyes as well! :)
Hope you are all having a fantastic day!

The interesting part is scripture does NOT define “how short” men must have their hair, or “how long” women’s hair must be.
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing what you do. I’m so glad that my videos have been an encouragement to you!
Check out my hair covering q and a video, I answer these there :) But I’ll add your question for my husband to our q and a list we have coming up!
Ooh I like your traditional scarf look but love the multiple ways you wear the longer rectangular scarves. Love how these styles don’t involve lots of Bobbi pens, etc.
Thanks Melissa! Yes, I don’t think I could do it if it needed a lot of pins. Those velvet headbands solve that issue though!
Looking good! I usually cover my hair when I'm travelling. I love scarves; they're my second favourite accessories after watches. =)
I had to run many errands today before our big snowstorm later, and it was such a pleasure to get home and sit and listen to your soothing voice. I’m glad you featured the beautiful shimmery green scarf; my favorite! God Bless you and your family 🙏
Stay safe and warm! 💖
Everyone needs more sparkle in their lives. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for being here Annette!
Great tutorial!
Thank you! 💖
That’s so cool! Thank you so much for sharing part of your story 💖
I do not cover my hair, but I am totally obsessed with scarfs and shawles and yours are beautiful!!! Lots of greetings from mid Europe!
Yay so excited to see this video. Wrapunzel carries sari scarves and they are awesome. They also carry a lot square scarves. They also have a ton of different different types of volumizers and velvet headbands!
Thanks Allison! I haven’t visited their site in a long time, clearly I need to check back!
@@jaroffireflies I started covering my hair and was inspired by you. Thank you so much for your example. I LOVE it and it makes me feel beautiful.

Thank you Theresa!
Hi, sweet Chana! This is a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge. 🫂
Thank you so much for your kind words Debra!
Beautiful scarves. Love the volumizer! I buy mine in the shuk. Great channel!
Thank you for being here Michal! Wow I guess you can get anything at the shuk! I can’t wait to visit one day!
In Israel they have lots of updated scurff tieing styles. One of the styles that has been going for a while is actually tieing it on top of your head in the middle and having half faking back, lots of scurff have some kind of a frindge or tassels at the edges for a cooler look
Oh that’s cool! Do you know where I could see an example of that? Someone on Instagram maybe?
@@jaroffireflies yes, please. Would love to see examples.
There r sooooooo many I didn't know which to choose from but here is a nice option I thought u might like. Worth writing in you tube קשירת מטפחות. ruclips.net/video/3hwFfz4TLqI/видео.html
Love the multi colored scarf towards the end and the headbands along with it…so pretty!
Thanks Sandy!
Good morning Chana. I really enjoyed your video. I have always wondered how you tie the scarf to keep it on. I hope you are starting to feel better from all of the morning sickness!! Have a wonderful and blessed Shabbat and I'll see you Monday
Hi Claudia! Now you know 😊 Thank you for your kind words, morning sickness is mostly contained to morning now so that’s a big improvement:)
Thank you. Great tutorial from a strong and radiant woman of faith!💝
Thank you Debra 😊
Iv always wondered how you tied the green scarf , you suit all of them and you make it look so easy , after nearly 18 years I still end up tying my clumsy fingers to the scarf as I tie it behind my head lol . So enjoy watching your videos , hope your starting to feel better and more energised .
I’m so glad I was able to answer your question about how I tie my scarf 💜
I have combs sewn into my wigs, they are amazing! Love that you veil at mass :) I hear that’s been making a comeback!
I Love all the head scarves. I especially Love the poof with the rectangle silk scarf. It looks great on you! I would Love to wear them.
You look like a princess in the last scarf ..so beautiful!!!
Thank you Trish :)
The "poof" and velvet bands have been a game changer! No more slipping scarves lol my favorite is a square>triangle with the back corner tucked in and then the two ends wrapped loosely around the bun and tucked back in. Hair stays out of the way. the only problem I've been having it my hairline goes very far down my neck and will frizz out the bottom back throughout the day
I love the sari with the jeweled headband. It looks very nice on you. Blessings to you and your family.
Thank you Lora! 💜
Thank you for the content, love your videos! Shavua Tov!
Thank you Corinn!
That was fun!
Thanks Ann! So glad you enjoyed 💜
Turban style with the crown my favourite.
Thank you Victoria!
So nice! The sari scarf looks so elegant on you !
Thank you Chelly!
Beautiful! Thank you for illustrating this art!
Thank you! And you’re so welcome!
The headbands make you look like a Tudor. I love that look ❤🧡💛💚💙
Oh that’s fun! I never thought of that! 😊
The way you normally cover your hair brings back memories of watching my grandma get ready in the morning. Absolutely loved this! The more colorful the scarf the better in my opinion! The colors really bring out your eyes as well! :)
Aw thank you! I tend to gravitate towards black because it’s simple, but I do love colors too
You do have beautiful eyes.
