- Passover starts tonight! Also, so does Shabbat! So there is plenty to get done around here as we prepare for our seder and shabbat and passover in general. There is the burning of the hametz, preparation of the seder, setting the table, giving Passover / Pesach gifts to our kids, getting dressed up for the seder, and so much more! Thank you for coming along for this day in my life (DITL) as I get ready for Passover / Pesach and Shabbat!

Hello and welcome! My name is Chana, I’m married to my best friend, and we have three wonderful children together. We also happen to be Orthodox Jews and we homeschool our kids. This video is a sneak peek into our daily lives :) You can see how this particular Jewish homeschool mom sets up her days, rolls with the punches, and gets it all done. Thanks for watching!

We had the most wonderful yom tov (holiday) over the weekend!!! Passover continues for the rest of this week so stay tuned for more Passover content coming up Thursday!!! Did you go to a seder or host a seder this year? I would love to hear about it!
Our seders are in Yiddish mostly, except for the brachas. We ask the 4 questions in Hebrew, Yiddish, and a different 3rd language every year. Last year was Mohawk.
When you said you can't do laundry during Passover? Even during Chalomoit??
Hi channah🙋♀️ מועדים לשמחה. Happy pasech. I DID PESACH AT HOME with my parents who live in Beitar. And my married son and daughters . And my youngest son. Was very nice . Heat wave right now. In Israel in Tiberias enjoy!!!..
@@user-zw8zw3zo3q so glad you had a nice Chag!
@@shainazion4073 that is correct. We can’t do laundry all week (with some exceptions like with the kids clothes for example)
I’m not Jewish, but for whatever reason, was fascinated about the plagues and memorized them. It was amazing how you present them for your Seder meal. I’m constantly impressed with your traditions and how exciting you present everything to your children. I’m new to the channel but have binge watched episodes of your conversion and some of the high holidays. I babysat for a Jewish family at 17 years old. I don’t believe they were orthodox from what I’ve learned from you. I’m 70 now, it’s never too late to learn. 🙂
Hello Susan! Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here! Thank you so much for your kind words :)
Thank you for sharing your Passover prep. I’m watching this again this year, knowing that your Passover is coming up soon. As a mom and a teacher, I so much appreciate how you make the important holiday accessible for your children with them preparing their own books to follow the Seder and with the plague bags to bring understanding to those. It just happens that I’m reading the Catholic book of Wisdom in our Old Testament during my morning meditation time and part of it deals with five of the ten plagues.
So glad you enjoyed! Thank you for your kind words ❤️
Amazing job! I’m a Hindu and I’m very interested in different religions/ holidays. Watching your utube channel was very informative and fun to watch. I admire how organized, productive and calm you are being pregnant and have young kids. Amazing job!!
Thank you Aruna!
You are amazing. If I woke up and saw that kitchen, I would turn around and go right back to bed!!!
😂😂😂
Hi Chana: As a Christian who celebrates Easter, I must tell you..I love Passover! Always have, ever since I first learned about it. The symbolism, the tradition; I think it's beautiful. As always, you did an amazing job, and, I know how much work it is from my Jewish friends. You and your husband look wonderful. Many blessings to you and your lovely family during Pesach and always. Thank you for sharing; this was wonderful. Rosemarie 💖
You are so blessed to have a husband that loves to cook. Oh boy, I don't remember a single thing my husband cooked. As you know, we've been married 41 years so I've cooked a lot !!!
Chana, I admire your patience and how chill you were with the disaster in the kitchen. I would have called my husband into the kitchen and ask him to clean his mess. You are very lovely person and continue to be such a good example.
Hi Chana, you and your husband looked so amazing in those clothes, really waw! I am also a moroccan, i was born and raised in Belguim. I don't know much about passover, but i will look into it. As a believer (Islam) myself I love to read about other religions and traditions. Enjoy the holiday. God bless you❤
🥰
Chana, hope the Passover is blessed for you and the family, hope the Kashering got done in time for all that needs to be kasher. Next year baby Firefly will be running around. Looking forward to any Passover videos. I will be celebrating the Easter holiday for the first time without my parents since they passed last year. Have a blessed holiday week.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday! Stay tuned for Passover content tomorrow! It’s a long video too :)
@@jaroffireflies can't wait.
Hi Chana! I have so much ❤️ for this video! Thank you for sharing all the things you do in preparation for Passover. You and your husband are doing a beautiful job of teaching your children about G-d. Not sure if you know, but the Seder is what we, as Christians, call a “type and shadow” of our Salvation. I didn’t know this until a couple years ago when I watched a Seder on PragerU and he explained it beautifully. Yes, our beliefs are different, yet so much alike! I’m pretty sure this is my favorite of all your videos. See you Thursday!
I learn so much from Dennis Prager.
Yes, he is really good!
You and your husband look lovely, Chana, I love that you got a wow from your children. Yay!! The Haggadot were a hit and I wish you Chag Pesach Sameach!
Thank you so much Marta!
You both look just wonderful :)
Such a good picture of you and your hubby. Beautiful smiles on two blessed people!
What a good looking couple! Whenever I see your husband, I’m struck at how kind his eyes are. It’s sweet to see you together.
You and your husband make a beautifully sweet couple!
😊 thank you
You should totally start making merchandise with “But that’s ok” on it. I would buy a mug in support of you. Love your optimism!!
It’s in the works!
Hannah you are a champ. I couldn't wake up to that disaster in the kitchen...I would cry, for real.
Hey Chana! I can't believe I missed one of your videos! I thought you just hadn't posted on Monday due to the holiday. As it turns out, YT decided to not give me the notification... On the other hand, I had two new Jar of Fireflies videos (and longer ones too 🎉) in one day, so I have nothing to complain about 😎 you both looked lovely! I have to say, Passover sounds like a great, but logistically complicated holiday. I would need a separate list to manage all my pre-Passover to do lists ;) I'm sure all that hard work is worth it and all 8 days of holiday are a great way to rest and relax after all that prep :) Have a lovely day!! :)
I love the outfits you and your husband wore. It is great to celebrate as a family. I'm really looking forward to the rest of your Passover videos.
Thank you so much!
I love how you celebrate this ancient holiday and still bring your family's culture and personality into it.
It was such an unusual year ! Passover and Easter and Ramadan were at the same time .
You and “Mr. Firefly” look stunning, gorgeous, and happy. With much love & gratitude, Maralyn in Virginia ❤️🌹🙏
My family celebrates Easter and we did with some extended family. Our meal was lamb, potatoes, and asparagus. As always, after eating, we stayed at the table telling family stories. Found out my cousin will be marrying a man that is Jewish. I know that I have some knowledge of your faith from watching you. Thank you.
I love watching your videos Chana they are so interesting and filled with love for the way you live your life. Thanks for sharing, I’ve learned a lot today!! Beautiful pictures of you and your husband, you two look amazing 🤩 and the bloopers are so much fun!! Thanks again and greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Amazing. Love y'all's outfits. Chana you are beautiful. Carrying God's precious child. I know that things aren't always perfect but It's so much fun to watch your family grow and thrive in this imperfect world.
So glad you managed to take a rest & a nap you work so hard, I was concerned you'd be too exhausted to enjoy the seder ! So innovative with the "plague bags" such a fun way to learn & remember the history, I like to think that in many years to come your children creating the same for their own children :) You looked beautiful in your Kaftan & gold head scarf, what a handsome couple you & your husband make in your special outfits.
Hahaha…never saw this part of the video (kitchen cleanup). It’s me when I cook 🤪. I was a high school science teacher before I retired. My science lab was always super clean and organized…my messy side came out at home.
Happy little boils! 😂
You’re so creative with teaching the kids about the plagues! I wish I thought about that when I was a teacher!
Thank you so much! There are a lot of ideas like this online for more prop ideas. The kids really look forward to it and it helps keep them engaged because by this point they know the marshmallows are coming lol
My Yom Tov was spent with my Christian family. I did read my Haggadah and light candles. I look forward to being back with my Temple family in Seattle.
I read recently that you have to check the rice because long long long ago they used to do crop rotation between wheat and rice so there was a chance that some wheat might have been left in the field when rice was planted and then got harvested with the rice. I found that really interesting
Y’all looked great! Baby bump is so cute on you. The Haggadah we use is from Maxwells House 1932. Last year we used the ones from PJ library.
I have watched every video in your vlog.
I am rewatching them. I love how you raise your kids. A good deal of it I did.
4 kids is a breeze with the right patience.
I just truly admire you.
Thank you so very much for your kind and encouraging words ❤️
Wow, your husband and you looked great!
Thank you Tessa!
Wow, your kids sleep in? You are lucky. But you are a hard worker too, love your show!
Well they stay up really late also lol
you and your husband look great.
Your husband appreciating his Arab roots is amazing!
I love all the ways you made the Seder interactive with the kids and making their own Haggadah. I now have some ideas for next year! You looked beautiful in your outfit🤩
Chana, you look beautiful! Chag Sameach! Our seders were wonderful. This year we are celebrating with two kids for the first time. Which still feels unbelievable considering last Passover I went into the holiday thinking that I was losing the pregnancy. My little girl made it and is with us celebrating and smiling at everyone. Baruch Hashem
You: "I could film the kitchen and that would be enough."
My brain, mid-Pesach: "Deyanu."
That is awesome LOL
Hi from Jerusalem we also had a great yomtov seder lots of grandchildren and special visit fro my son and daughter in law with 2 baby's from London the kids went out 2 the north today so it's just zadie and Bobby today have a great yomtvov and thanks again for your wonderful videos
You were so pretty in your caftan!! Lovely couple!
Thank you!! 😊
I absolutely LOVED this video! What fun to learn all about your Passover holiday. You looked so beautiful in your outfit. The pictures of you and your husband look so happy together! I applaud you for adding the part about how everything is not perfect in our lives and that stuff happens and that "Is OK". Thank you once again for allowing us this look into your life. I wish you and your family a blessed week!
Thank you Karen!
"So the kids have something fun to do with the plagues" 😂
As I was viewing your kitchen, Chana, all I could think was "Wow! Her husband is TRULY passionate about cooking! He's a whirling dervish in the kitchen." I can imagine the mesmerizing flavors from the debris of passion left behind. Any leftovers? If not, would you kindly ask him to add a little extra of everything in what he cooks? Thank you!
Lol yes he’s an amazing cook!!! And very passionate about cooking :)
Your description of the joy cooking brings your husband, and that he is a “messy” cook made me smile. My late husband loved to cook, especially for a group of family or friends. But, honestly, the man could trash a kitchen boiling water. I also was the clean up crew. ☺️
You guys look super cute! My son who is half Moroccan has a very similar outfit for holidays as well. Love your videos.💜💜
Happy Pessach!
The Hagadot you made with your children are lovely!
This year I made our Hagadot special by adding pictures of our family on different occasions that can also irrelevant for the Hagada.
You look very festive!
Yom tov!
Thank you 😊
Beautiful couple (inside and out).
Your dress is lovely Channa. You look very pretty. You are a Saint Channa.I guess the more work the more special something is. But, honestly, seeing that kitchen, after your husband cooked, after all the work done to get it ready for Passover would cause me to blow a fuse. Holy Cow. Thank you for sharing your holiday prep with us. Happy Passover.
That kitchen… My heart would have stopped if I woke up to that. God bless you.
Oh My Lanta! We would have to talk about his kitchen messes!
Your outfit is gorgeous!! You are radiant Chana!
Such a beautiful couple and a beautiful family. I get so depressed over all of the holidays so I come to you tube to see people enjoying themselves.
Same dude
I feel like you should get some merch like T-shirts and coffee mugs that that day "but that's okay" It's such a good attitude that more of us could benefit from. 🙂
It’s in the works!
I really love your videos. I like both of the outfits. I recently found out that all of my questions and watching of the videos you post were for a good reason, my eldest is actually Jewish. He converted about 6 years ago and I had no idea until I was watching you one day and he said "mom, why are you watching Jewish videos" ? I answered with because I like to learn about different religions and cultures and stuff, why is it bothering you? The response was " no just found it interesting that you are watching it and I'm Jewish". Oh boy now I'm panicking because my house is far from kosher and he lives with me. He said that it's ok that he has permission because of legal issues to live in a nonkosher home for now. Wow was I freaking out, still kind of am because I don't want to be a reason that he isn't following what he believes.
Oh wow!
I admittedly know very little about your faith and lifestyle, but I do know the love of family and that is shining through brightly on every one of your videos. Thank you for showing true and beautiful human virtues are still alive. 🤗❤️Sharon
Thank you so much Sharon ❤️
@@jaroffireflies ❤️
When you said when you husband cooks he gets messy it made me think of a thing my great grandma us to say she would say if your baking or cooking and there wasn't a mess it wasn't done right but if there was a mess in the kitchen it was done right and it was made with a lot of love.
Love that! Thank you for sharing:)
It’s been good, not perfect, that is a life quote.
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for brining us along during your preparations.
My pleasure!
LOL! WOW, girl, you were not kidding about the kitchen! That's what mine looks like after my son is done creating! But we all know a messy cook is a good cook. I absolutely love how you act out the plagues- what a fun way to get the kids interested and participating! And you and Mr. FF both look awesome- very sweet photo! And beautiful embroidery on both outfits. Thank you for sharing your holiday- I always learn something! Have a great week- Love from CT
I truly enjoyed this video and all the effort you put into filming while getting ready for passover. The kids did an awesome jobs on their books. They are so creative. Loved hearing about the plagues and everything. You and your husband looked smart in your outfits! So happy and loving. I just enjoy your videos. I am not Jewish. I cooked for my son, daughter in law an grandson for our easter dinner. We played Pokémon monopoly. I gave my grandson a pikachu pillow and a new lego set (a charizard) for his easter gift. I also sent him an Easter card. Love my family time! Hope the rest of your week is great. Thank you for sharing with your fans!
As a Catholic, I find the way you guys celebrate Passover interesting. For Easter, fun fact: Easter and Passover fall around the same time, I stay up all night, similar to you guys, and read scripture and sing songs that tell about the history of Israel and their journey with God. Then, afterwards I go out and have a huge dinner with friends and family. It's fun!!!
Thank you for being here Monica and thank you for sharing how you celebrate your holiday :)
You look beautiful. Love the dress
I love what you did to engage the kids in the Seder! And you and your husband make a most handsome couple. You are a Blessed woman!
Thank you Mary 💜
I’d love the video I think that it is so cute that your husband wants the kids to be involved and he actually remembered the marshmallows that is so meaningful. You two look adorable as a couple I love the picture
You and your husband look absolutely stunning! I never knew about the different plagues before, so interesting. It was cool to see how you bought props for each one, fun. The books your children made were also such a nice touch. I hope you and your family are enjoying the holiday. Much love to you all ♥️
Thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed this :) Hope you are having a great start to your week!
You both look great in your Ganduras ❤️❤️❤️
Amazing! 💗
Yay! So wonderful- Chag Sameach. We had the best seders- hope you did too! My step sister and her kids came and it was their first "real" seders and everyone had a great time. I am definitely going to use the marshmallows for hail. We have a collection of wigs and hats costumes that we use for seder skits and this year my son, daughter and niece dressed up as Shifra, Puha, and Pharoah and started off magid telling about Moses floating down the Nile- pretty amazing!
This was amazing 💜
Beautiful photos!
I love your honesty, thank you!!
Thank you Chana
Oh man! I went to give my eldest a hug when he was about 2-3 years old and he jumped up and cracked my tooth 😭 he also cracked a second one around 6-7 years old jumping up with a remote in his hand. He’s always been a VERY energetic child 🤣
Ouch!!!
Chag Sameach! Beautiful, inspiring video! Thankyou!
Another beautiful meaningful holiday celebration! Thanks for sharing it.
Thank you for sharing your traditions
I always love when you show the mess your hubs makes in the kitchen and I love how you're like yeah...he is messy but that's OK! Bc the food is delicious. That is love!
❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊
Happy Passover
This is all very interesting! Thanks for sharing with us!!
A sweet Passover to you and your family.
Chag Sameach! Thanks for your beautiful, inspiring video!
You look fabulous together! Happy Passobrr,
The kitchen?!? I think I would have had a meltdown if I woke up and saw the kitchen in such a state. Whooo, girl! You look absolutely radiant and the kaftan was beautiful.
Lol I’m used to the kitchen by this point in our marriage :)
You look absolutely stunning, Chana!!! Your husband looks so handsome, too....what a gorgeous couple!!! The kitchen ..oh my goodness! Lol. Loved the kids' artwork. They have inherited your talent!!! Enjoy the rest of your holiday❤️
Have a blessed Pesach!
You both looked a m a z i n g !!!!!!! So happy that you are having a lovely passover. Xxxx
You guys look great and very festive!
What an incredibly full day! Wow!
How cute you two are!
our local supermarket WinCo had finger puppets of all the plagues together in a package so the whole story could be told...they also had a cute potato peeler that was a matzo ball potato peeler.
You look absolutely gorgeous! Have an amazing Passover!
Your outfit is gorgeous ❤️
Such a lovely vlog , you both look amazing in those outfits enjoy the celebrations xx
First thing I did when I woke up this morning was come see if you posted a video, I was not disappointed! I love this video it was amazing!

I needed a nap just watching you! It looks like you all had a wonderful week! Shalom Shabbat
oooo i love the caftan! its totally my style! hope you all had a lovely Shabbat and Passover!!
Beautiful! I'm just amazed at how calm you were Erev Pesach! I could never film myself the week before Pesach!! Good for you to find the time and smile non-stop!! Chag Sameach from Israel!!
