If they're freaking out about guns. They don't belong...keep idaho Red!!
Yup
People who open carry are usually just paranoid. We have open carry here in Missouri, but you rarely see it. If a place is too dangerous to go to without a gun on your hip, then I won't go there.
But the more we have open carry to intimidate dems, then the more divided we are as a country leading to a possible civil war.
Absolutely!!!!
I’m from Corona,Ca. I moved to Post Falls. Guns are awesome and so are the people! I carry my .357 often. Stay away if you’re a leftie lol! The 2a is my concealed permit!
Never give up your guns!
It’s the most charming thing about this state. An armed society is a polite society
Or k bars 💀

@@chrisgrunstra1803BETA!
@@jimsteinway695I might be armed if I lived in Boise or CDA, but I don't so I don't carry.
Great video. Moved to Eastern Idaho five years ago. First day here one of the neighbors stopped by and asked if I like guns. I said "absolutely". He told me that he shoots in the backyard and invited me to shoot with him and his family. Five years later I've got a shooting range in my backyard. Neighbors are welcome to come by and shoot. I now ask newcomers if they like guns and shooting. So far nobody has said no.
BTW, I absolutely love it here. Don't want to change anything about it. This is home.
That’s awesome!!!
What about books? Do any of you read? Ever heard of Shakespeare? Yes, great cultural pursuits you have. Ignorance feels good?
I keep hearing people say that everyone in America should be carrying a gun all the time, because that would make everyone safe. How could that work that way? What's wrong with carrying a gun hidden?
I have a gun range too, but I don't think everyone needs to be open carrying a firearm. Just intimidates libs and divide this country.
Welcome fellow Redneck
Uhmm? I was raised in Missouri and after being in the military for thirty years wanted to live somewhere without the humidity and insects of the Midwest and we retired to Idaho Falls and have been here thirty years. When the Realtor handed us the keys he said " I forgot to tell you one thing, set your watch back fifty years" and he wasn't kidding. You would have to go to southern Missouri or Mississippi to find people more ignorant or intolerant. We greatly enjoy the summers and tolerate the winters and mostly keep to ourselves as we are secular types. Best of luck to all of us.
Moving in in a few months. CANNOT wait! Just to have the city "EAGLE" in my address is gonna be so fantastic! No homeless, no tents, no 15 different languages being spoken, sirens going off, cars doing donuts at 1am down the hill and imitating Fast and Furious, endless lines of people queing up for any government office documentation, no needles, no guys in black hoodies, no endless "tip" inquiries on every payment, no locked up business, no dead downtowns, no restaurants serving up nasty inferior food, no beaches and nature trails locked up because of "climate change" that supposed killed someone foolish enough to venture in, no expensive costs of living, no "Raise no Chickens" law, no ATMs being stolen, no locked up personal care supplies, no locked up WATER, ie. the list goes on and on. Eagle is going to be like paradise for us! I will honor "Jackie" and "Shadow!!!" 🦅🦅
You know, you could have moved to Redding, and had virtially the same thing.
@@brockreynolds870 have you been to Eagle? There’s no comparison.
in short - no diversity
That happens still all the time
We have problems in Idaho, too. Just look each week in a small town local paper and read about the crimes.
All the reasons I want to move to Idaho. I open carry in Oregon, and sadly I get more and more looks. I miss rural living and I want my kids to grow up in nature.
I DON'T carry in Idaho and no one looks at me. Idaho shouldn't be the old west. Why not just conceal carry? Or are the men moving here wanting to be Rambo and intimidate democrats so they will try to take legislative action to take guns?
I don't open carry. don't see any reason to here in Idaho.
When I left Washington, I sold my SKS and my .45ACP Thompson Look-alike. I have lived in Idaho for 31 years and in my region I don't see people open carrying. I rarely conceal carry. If I go the big city of 40,000 I just keep a pocket pistol under my car seat in case this old 79-year old breaks down at night.
Mother Nature said "you can't have all 4 seasons in 1 week" Idaho said "Hold my Beer."
Haha truth
Live in Idaho, I still need a shower gun. All other bases covered.
Plenty of people walk around California with guns...but they are criminals...like to see normal law abiding citizens carrying than criminals
Idaho Falls has for many decades been the gateway to Yellowstone Park. We get a lot of tourists.
I am from So Cal, from 2017 to 2020 I was taking trips to GA a few times a year. It wasn't until my 3 trip when I finally got comfortable with people being courteous and kind because it's the right thing to do. It's not like that in CA, there are some who are good hearted, but when someone is helpful and kind, there is a catch somewhere.
Idaho sounds like another great place to be!
You’re absolutely right! We know people in GA and they say the same as you. Love it.
Most of idaho can get all 4 seasons in every month. I have lived here for 50 yrs and have seen snow in july and augest half the time.
3 inches of snow on my Ford Bronco, July. 6300 feet, 20 miles from Wyoming border.
When I visited Idaho last summer, a few people waved at us and it caught me off guard but, felt pretty good that people are like that there. Here in LA, I always have my guard up
I KNOW IT WASN'T ME WHO WAVED, I'm the one how flipped you off😛
All great reasons to come!! Thanks for the restaurant guide as well.
Very welcome!
My family and I escaped the peoples republic of california and have never regretted it for a second! Don’t California My Idaho!
I'm afraid that is what will happen.
It's funny, I always hear about open carry being a big thing. But I've lived in the Boise metro area for 35 years and have only seen one person open carrying ever (he was an old guy shopping at Winco). Also I had a buddy who kept a pistol in his truck's cup holder, which is a bad idea for several reasons. Other than that it's mostly concealed carry, so you never know how many people around you are packing (and ready to defend their life or others if need be).
I live halfway between Boise and Spokane and I don't see open carry. I don't open carry. I usually don't carry except in a vehicle, but I live 5 driving hours from the nearest interstate, and 2 hours from the biggest city in the region with around 30,000 people.
Gold, baby! Gold!
Great video!
Thank you!
I know what you're talking about as far as testing people. When someone moves here from California I immediately ask if they Idaho needs a higher minimum wage. If they say yes, I tell him to go back to California. If they say no, minimum wages hurt those at the bottom of the economic scale, we become good friends.
But most people coming from other states will bring their culture and laws with them, That happened to me in Washington so I moved here 30 years ago but now I see it happening here in Idaho.
Too bad the mayor is trying to make Boise Portland
I'm looking forward to visiting ❤
Come to my region and you might see a gun in a pickup but rarely on someone's hip.
Awesome video! Been to Boise/Meridian, Sun Valley a few times and love the state. It's beautiful and protected. Would love to move out of Washington soon .
I've lived in both states and it all depends on where you live. I wouldn't want to live in either Boise or Coeur d 'Alene or Seattle or Everett but life on the San Juan Islands or in Southeast Washington would be good.
I was in Lewiston today at Staples and I asked a clerk if he had ever shot a gun. No, he said. A month ago I talked to a medical assistant in Grangeville who told me she was afraid of guns. Both were longtime residents. You must be either in a radical county or I'm in a liberal one. In my region, Lewiston and east, I have only seen one person in 30 years open carrying. I get the idea that this idea is coming from out of state. And I don't think you could call Idaho County liberal. I agree with Masad Ayoob about open carrying. People do it to intimidate others so that they can work harder at using legislation to get rid of guns. I was in Costco and Winco in Lewiston, and I didn't have gun on me. I am not impressed with people carrying a 1911 on their hip. This stuff may be going on in the Boise area, but fortunately, so far we don't seem to have it. But if I were to go into a Walmart in Boise or Coeur d 'Alene, I would probably keep my pocket pistol in my jeans.
And yesterday, a newcomer checked on me parking at the side of the road. I tried to be friendly and asked him where he came from. I told him my name and that I lived near by. I asked him his name and he drove away. The old timers are friendly, but I have now had two uncomfortable meetings with newbies, and one was from California.
Good video, though. I enjoyed it. I moved her over 30 years ago from an island on the coast.. Will stay here till I die. And every day I see at least 6 deer near my front door and lots of turkeys.
One time we're laying on my lawn here in Heyburn a bald Eagle landed right on the grass just 10 feet away from me.
Absolutely incredible!
This makes me want to get there!
Winters are rough.
Maybe in the Treasure Valley where you have lots of California move-ins, you see lots of people carrying guns on their hips. but where I live in Idaho, I hardly ever see open carry. Yesterday I drove 30 miles to our county seat to a medical clinic and I didn't even take a gun. If I go to Costco in our region's big city of 40,000, I don't carry a gun. I just keep my pocket pistol under my car seat and I'm an old man of 79. People from California and Boise must spend their time watching movies. I live in ranch/farming/survivalist country where people use guns for either predator animal control or for obtaining wild game. I open carry a Ruger Blackhawk when I venture very far into the woods, but I don't take it to town.
1 Peter 4:15 -- But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. (For anyone living anywhere, including especially Idaho, who tried to justify meddling into other people’s ethical privacy)
I'm not into Christian scriptures but 6 months ago in our county seat I saw a bumper sticker on the back of a pickup that said: "I own firearms and a backhoe." Nuff said! Idaho County.
That sounds like an absolute dream!
From Connecticut and New England area. Moved to North Bend, WA from 2020-2022 then back to Connecticut. Now considering Northern Idaho. It was our favorite spot driving back across country out of all the places.
If you are coming to Idaho, by all means move to North Idaho and stay there.
North Idaho not as friendly anymore. Lot of new residents are cranky, unfriendly and drive like fools. I miss the old friendly hometown feeling.
Move to North Idaho and leave the rest of us alone.
Guns, Guts, God anywhere and you're good.
Keep the first two and get rid of the third.
I'll pass on the God part and I don't open carry to intimidate democrats.
My family is moving to Idaho soon from Arizona and I’m really excited. Honestly the only thing I’m nervous about is the winters. My dad is actually from ID but the last time I visited there I was a toddler.
Nah you'll be fine. Everyone adjusts.
Winters coming from Arizona will be a major shock. But at least it doesn't snow nearly as much as it did 20 years ago (at least in Boise). Just gets very cold.
@@smileychess we are in a rural area closer to Sun Valley. Everyone has said that this winter was pretty mild (though we still have 3ft of snow on the ground) but I’m glad it’s given me a chance to acclimate.
I am moving to Meridian/Boise area in a few months. I am a small town southern MN guy who is moving over there because my long lost GF moved over there. The state sounds amazing to me. I am in the area that is covered with farmland for thousands of miles so there will be so much to explore for me and I can not wait to fish up there.

50 inches of snow a year. Keep that in mind. Your frost free growing season in Oklahoma? 200 days long. Idaho? 100 days.
@@brockreynolds870And gardens above river canyons have the clay problem.
I think it would be the coolest thing ever to see a bunch of sheep crossing the road!
If you pass through high country southeast of Idaho Falls, you should be able to see that.
I really liked this video and made me want to move out to Idaho even more! Love the outdoors and that it's family oriented! Love that it's a red state too!
Thank you! cant wait to help you make the move!
I'd like to see some blue mixed in with the red. Most online rating sites have Idaho as in the top of the least free states. If you live here and a neighboring cattle ranch's cattle breaks down the fence and destroys your garden, what can you do. How can I stop that? Do I have freedom in that case?
Remember that the Conservative Cato Institute recently came out with their yearly personal freedom list and Idaho was the second least free state in the nation. #1 was Texas. We have lots of government control here.
Hey man, nice sugar coat. I'm from Newport Beach California. I moved here in March of 1993 and it was a lot different then. I got off the bus at 3am downtown Boise walked up 13th street where my wife had rented a apartment across the street from Camels back park a month before a came. I sent her my tax return that's how we started here with are 5 year old son. I was 24 then and not well received by Idahoan's I felt hated for a couple of years. Oh by the way a did have a job the next day. just wanted to put that fact in. so back to my story. I was floating the Boise river with a coworker and a shit stick friend of his. His friend asked me where i was from and i told him, I'm not going to put in his response but i asked him if he knew how to swim well !! needless to say I had to throw his ass back in the raft lol. Boise is a Beautiful place to live, grow up and raise a family. I have many good friends here today. I moved here for my family and a good life, that was something I didn't have in California. I used to skateboard, surf and ride crotch rockets. Now it's mowing the yard, fishing, hunting, shooting all my cool guns and driving my badass Chevy Silverado. OK OK
I've seen it -20 in the winter here and 120 in the summer in Boise you never know. I hate the cold but oh well. welcome to Idaho and if see a California plate your getting the finger.😁
.
You have been in Idaho longer than me. I got here in June of 1993, but where I moved, it was a bit like the old west. I still remember when sitting in an Elk's hall where county commissioners were at a table and the hall was filled. A fellow came up to that table and slapped down a noose and said, "We don't want building permits in this county." And we never got them. And July Fourth celebrations used dynamite for firecrackers.
I'm from an island in Washington's Puget Sound, but I was born in Bakersfield, and near where I lived until I was 8 and my parents moved north. And I, in Idaho's largest county, feel the same about California plates.
Conceal carry is legal as well which is much better than open carry. I only open carry when I'm hiking in the mountains. Otherwise I conceal. Open carry in the city just paints you as paranoid and scared.
I definitely agree with you.
I differ on the opinion about escaping an oppressive state, leaving it behind. That’s not what happened in Washington, they brought it with them and made it “just like home”. I thought my home state of Wyoming was too backwards when I left, however in the end I was never more happier to move back.
As a fellow idahoan, THANKYOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. Seriously, I've had mixed feelings about you promoting idaho as a location but hey, I get it we gotta do business too but you certainly nailed it on the head. We're just protective of our community. We want things to stay relatively safe as compared to the denser areas of the country. And when we see mass amounts of people coming from places with higher crime rates, and vastly different political views, it makes us nervous. We're the state where nothing dramatic happens. Well, mostly. And honestly I think most want to keep it that way.
Well said.
Don't say nothing dramatic happens, unless you don't read the history of Idaho in the last 30 years. Got pretty dramatic in those days. I remember wring back to former Washington state friends that this state was like living in the old west.
Agree!
Wow as a Californian u make Idaho sound very attentive, don’t ever give up your guns Patriots, never give up never surrender
You seem very bright. Not.
Then you had better not vote for Trump because in a Senate Committee meeting in 2016, he said to VP Pence, "I will take guns without due process because courts are too slow.
You don't need a license to carry a gun
I love idahio my man carry and im good with it😊
You can say all of these about moving to Salt Lake City, too. Except here we also have religion that is a strange cultural phenomenon that is weird to navigate as an outsider.
You got that right. I used to be one of those weird folks.
Lol 😂get in the teen to below zero a lot of the winters

I think the capital was attacked on January and I think Trump was responsible for that. I will write in the name of Adam Kinzinger for president in 2024. And I have lived in Idaho for 30 years. Are you in favor of getting rid of all socialist programs in the U.S.? Or just the ones that you don't like? Recent personal freedom report from the conservative think tank the Cato Institute lists Idaho as the second least free state in the nation. Texas is #1. If you like government control, and more people seem to every day, then move to Idaho. I have lived in Idaho a total of 33 years now and it's changing to what I left.
Idaho is done for. I don't agree with you about people moving here and not wanting to change things. We have alrerady seen it!!! It's happening. Idaho will be just like Colorado very soon. Have you seen how much the homeless population has grown since the housing prices went out of control? No one seems to notice it because they compare it to the city they moved from (Like Seattle or Portland). But for people that have grown up here.......we can see it.
No thanks Jersey Strong forever.😎
Great video. What about the 9 volcanos underneath Idaho? And Yosemite crackin open? What is their emergency plan for these ?
Ummmm run fast? Haha. In all seriousness, there are volcanos all across the USA. California, Oregon, Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada and Washington all have more volcanoes than Idaho.
And New Mexico
Right. But they don’t have a 100 ft cauldron that has just opened with geologists from all over the world saying ehhhhh somethings a brewing and it ain’t Starbucks.
Haha true. So I'm guessing the plan is... run fast?@@BadBoy-tn2yx
I like your videos. I like Idaho. And having a daughter and son-in-law that live there I even had a realtor looking at land for me. Then this happened. The explosion alone will wipe out three states. And It’s three states of ash 3 feet deep. There is no running. Parts of the park are closed. Maybe a disclosure might not be a bad idea. Check it out the videos are on you tube.
Not licensed to carry a gun????
Man, this is Idaho. You do NOT need a license to carry a gun!
It can get VERY cold, even in the Boise area. Think 20-30 BELOW zero. Not every winter, but it can happen.
Youll likely see some sub zero weather ever winter, perhaps -15 or so. And you can see several weeks where the day time highs may not reach 20 degrees.
Californians should check out West Virginia along with Idaho, the real estate prices and property taxes in West Virginia are among the lowest in the US.

Tell me ONE good reason why open carry is needed in Idaho?
Because I Can.
@@kristic4472 You don't need to though you may want to. When you open carry, you intimidate non-gun owners and those afraid of guns. And when happens, they work harder with legislation to confiscate guns. Eventually that legislation will take my guns and yours, or else you will have to fight the government. We can hide them, but then we can't use them, so why not just conceal carry? That way you have the element of surprise in a shooting situation. I'm probably not into guns like you seem to be. As an average gun owner I only have a dozen guns but many are single action or ranch guns and not scary to people afraid of guns. I live in an open-carry state but no one in my region seems to need to be macho. From what I see online, only North Idaho is into carrying AR's or AK's or plate carriers or camo outfits on the main street of Coeur d'Alene.
Thee Herb is 😢 illegal
Don’t encourage it
I don't recall God giving the right to bear arms...

That sucks 😢
That is great!!
If you live in the Panhandle, a short trip to Washington gives me the ,medical cannabis, I want.
I think maybe you might reconsider your presentation. Maybe you should consider going adult instead of a 40 year old teen
Idaho makes it easy to assimilate to the culture,, We moved here in 2005 and love it, this year I went out and bought guns due to the anti-gun federal government. So if your from the west coast do not try to make Idaho like your old state, embrace the culture, life style and thinking of Idaho and you will be fine to move here.
