You only gave us 5 cities. Because Boise Caldwell Nampa, Eagle and Meridian are basically the same the only difference is county taxes between ada and canyon county. I can’t believe you didn’t cover ANY city east of Twin. I’m thinking this should be called Top Ten cities these real estate agents work in.

Maybe in the Treasure Valley where you have lots of California move-ins, you see lots of people carrying guns on their hips. but where I live in Idaho, I hardly ever see open carry. Yesterday I drove 30 miles to our county seat to a medical clinic and I didn't even take a gun. If I go to Costco in our region's big city of 40,000, I don't carry a gun. I just keep my pocket pistol under my car seat and I'm an old man of 79. People from California and Boise must spend their time watching movies. I live in ranch/farming/survivalist country where people use guns for either predator animal control or for obtaining wild game. I open carry a Ruger Blackhawk when I venture very far into the woods, but I don't take it to town.

There's a low reported crime rate because they don't tell you what is really going on. I've lived here my whole life over, 70 yrs and it is sad how much crime is hidden from the public. You won't see it on the local news. And another thing they dont tell people is we are very short of drs, so finding a dr os difficult and medical care stinks. We are short of teachers so classes are big. Roads are crowded because they dont keep up with the growth in traffic. He made it sound great, but he missed so much.

There is nothing about that house I like. I’m sure it’s great for somebody but for me it’s way too big, just plain ugly, no curb appeal. I’m sure there’s an HOA fee. That’s ridiculous. Just not my kind of house or neighborhood.

Ok, the price, has been anon going issue since 1982, And I lived there from 1963 to 2012, its cheaper than So Cal, even today so price is kinda strange.

All right now. Us non HOA people arent a bunch of toothless hillbillies with cars and RVs in our front yard. Some of us were smart enough to buy our West Boise homes for waaaay under 100k in 2000 (actually paid 86500 for mine) and paid it off in 2023. We pay for our irrigation water. Mow our own yards without people yelling at us and leave our neighbors alone for parking on the street.

Idaho is full. Californians have ruined it.

So what exactly do people in these big beautiful homes do for a living out there? We’re trying to move from SC to Idaho but not sure what jobs to be in search for to afford this. Real estate is expensive in Idaho. We have 3 small kids 5 years old and 11 month old twins so before we move we need to find jobs. It’s a dream of ours!

The number 1 problem with Twin Falls is the growth. First you move here for what it is, but in a year it will be bigger. Next you move here for the culture, but you bring your culture with you, in a year it will be different. Then you move here because of the cost of living here, but it changes as more move here. I am not from here. I moved here in 1991. I am part of the dreaded California movement. I am already looking at property in Arizona. What was attractive to me 30yrs ago is gone. What you try to buy here will also be gone in ten years, unless you are early birding a change nobody here wants.
